we hired a luxury static caravan and it was as it says on the tin, clean, tidy, immaculate and everything was in it that you needed, even the beds were made with clean fresh sheets. The haven passes were not included, however, we went for the surounding countryside, which has to be said was great. The downside to haven is, you have to pay for everything extra, so you can end up spending just as much as the holiday on kids activities, which are £5 each. They are having the pool complex redone over the winter and from the pictures I have seen on site it looks great.
To sum up, we booked privately, we didnt go into the complex, but had a great holiday in north yorkshire.

I went to the Blue Dolphin site about a year ago and it really was rubbish! Everywhere you go its another thing that you have to pay for and its not even worth the money! £20 to hire a hairdryer!!!! Arcade machines everywhere as soon as you walk in the dirty complex. Greasy floors and bad food. Chavs everywhere swearing and threatening their own children, "shut up or i'll 'it yer!!" was heard on many occasion by unfit parents. No problem with the caravan as we hired it privately.

We booked a weekend with the Daily Mail offer so the price was pretty good. However that was really the only thing that was good. Check-in was at at 4 p.m. and we arrived at 3.30 and even though the caravan was ready they wanted to charge £10 to let us have the key at that time. Web waited until 4 p.m. and the queue was huge. Never seen anything like it at a caravan park. We eventually got to out "superior" caravan which was OK but not great. But the fun really began in the evening. Stayed in the touring section with my wife's sister and family. The Blue Dolphin park is dreadful. Just don't go. Toilets and shower blocks are filthy and insufficient for the number of people on the site. My wife queued for nearly an hour outside the showbar so that we could get a seat to see the entertainment (which bizarrely had included a Christmas show). The swimming pool was overcrowded and filthy. A thoroughly awful experience we will not be repeating. Would have scored a zero if that was ...- Read Guest's review (89 words)

We booked last minute and got a standard caravan,so we didn't expect luxury, but it was awful.Cobwebs everywhere, the sofas stunk, dog hairs all over, bedrooms foisty ,all the kitchen cupboards and walls were in need of a good clean.Thankgod we had to take our own bedding and were only there for 3 nights. The site facilities wern't any better. The toilets on a night were flooded especially the mens. The pool wasn't adequate enough for the size of the Park and in need of a complete revamp,in fact the wh ...- Read Guest's review (108 words)

What a great location, but thats where the excitement ends, Check in was a night mare, although it started on time there was no flexibility and no organisation, despite arriving a few hours early because of travelling a few hundred miles to get there they would not consider letting us in early, we could not use the facilities as we did not yet have the necessary passes so we had to sit in the carpark or use the only bar open to us which must have been the most expensive in Yorkshire. The accomm ...- Read Guest's review (237 words)

Booked Haven Holidays, Blue Dolphin for 4 nights only stayed 3, could not stand to be on this site 1 night longer. I also read the reviews before I went and thought I would give it the benefit of the doubt. How wrong was I. Toilets full of excrement, cold showers, site dirty, pool strangly cloudy, murky. Staff careless. A lot of people from up North especially 1 family from Newcastle that spent the whole night playing music on car stereo. I am not a prude and consider myself down to earth bu ...- Read Guest's review (144 words and 1 comment)

We went to Haven Holidays, Blue Dolphin and were on the tourer part of the park and we were given a pitch when we got there however someone was already on it so we had to go back to the reception to get another pitch. This site is awful. The shower block was constantly dirty - dont take your flip flops off! The showers kept going off and were normally cold. The pot wash area was also dirty - people just leaving bits of food in the plug hole when there is a bin right behind you! There does not se ...- Read Guest's review (194 words)

We have just returned from our week long holiday at Blue Dolphin near Filey. We took our tourer caravan and was our first and last visit to the site. When we checked in we were given our plot only to discover someone else setting up their caravan there, we had to wait for staff to move them on. Then when the country is in the middle of a pandemic I was horrified by the toilets and showers, absolutely filthy!!!!! The mens first....... no toilet roll for a full week, no hand wash in any dispensers ...- Read Guest's review (185 words)

We have just returned from a stay at Blue Dolphin which was our second visit.Adter searching for our van we was very impresed with the quality of the van seats, kitchen worktops etc overall a very nice van, some small stains on the carpet but everything else was fantastic and very clean.
Because of some rain the grass outside became very muddy and shoes brought it in maybe some sort of paving to the van might be a good idea.
I do prefer primrose valley but the price difference between the two par ...- Read Guest's review (219 words)

We were booked at blue dolphin for 7 nights. We were a family of 5 with dog and tenting in the overflow. The showers and toilet blocks were filthy, and not enough for the amount of people on the site. It was advertised all over the campsite that no anti-social behaviour would be tolerated, however this turned out to be untrue as their were people running around naked, people unpegging the guyropes during the night and kicking things against the tents.I was fearful for childrens safety, this was ...- Read Guest's review (108 words and 1 comment)

Just come back from blue dolphin nr filey great location, thats where it ends, caravan was ok fairly clean, was meant to be a prestige ????? we booked early, and got the sub standard prestige i think, some of the on site equipment was good fun, eg carting bikes, dont get a 4 seater unless you are lance armstrong they are very hard work to pedal whilst full of your family members, go carts where ok track a litle small and carts slow but still fun, the amusement arcade was not great full of unsup ...- Read Guest's review (177 words)

This is one of the worst sites we have stayed on in the last 8 years.
The site itself is in need of a full revamp, everywhere you go is grotty and there is dog mess that owners haven't cleaned up - my daughter got covered in an open area. This site quite obviously started out as a smaller site and has grown bigger over the years - unfortunately the facilites haven't.
The swimming pool was particulary dreadful - it looked shabby and dirty and was too small for the site - Haven would be bette ...- Read Guest's review (309 words)

have just returned from Haven Holidays, Blue Dolphin 4 night camping break which cost £36 for 2 adults, 3 kids and a dog! included in the price were the funworks passes which allow you to use the entertainment facilities.had to carry these passes everywhere as you can't even go and get fish and chips without it! toilets on campsite were spotless at 8am however they were diabolical by 1pm due to some filthy creatures stuffing large amounts of loo roll down them! staff were excellent and ch ...- Read chocokelpie's review (199 words)

Have just returned for a lovely weekend at this site. we booked it at the last minute because we had been at another haven site(haggerston castle)the week before and the place was horrible and we did not have a good time. The place was dirty and smelly people were very rude etc please never go there.
We booked Blue Dolphin on the recomendations of a guest at haggerston who also felt the places was bad, she said this site was really nice and she was spot on.It was very clean and tidy and all the ...- Read Guest's review (219 words)

Haven Holidays, Blue Dolphin have low budget prices, low budget facilities and service. Cheap, dirty and tired facilities. Wont be back to Haven sites, others have much more appeal.- Read kiltboy37's review (96 words)
