Good Points: A big step up over £500 av amplifiers, effortless power, probably the best processor on any £1000 amplifier, solid build, fuss free operation, good in stereo (I used to own a Denon 3300 which was rotten in stereo) compared to previous amps, flashy remote with el lighting. All current decoding formats ie pl11, dts neo 6, dolby ex, dts discrete hdcd etc.
Bad Points: Volume can run away with itself, remote is no good in daylight, lacks hdmi switching
General comments: If you've only heard the masses of £500 av amplifiers the Denon AVR-3805 7.1 will knock you out, it reveals more off 5.1 tracks than any of them, its useful in stereo, has the power to match any speakers, it also produces no operating noise, ie no cooling fan whirring away!
