We tried booking a Taste of China tour - we were given a booking reference and offered to pay but were told to get our visa first. When we went to pay for our holiday we were told that it was not departing on the agreed date and that we had to pay a further £750 to get the next departure. Having been left with Chinese visas which were expensive, we then went to Tavelsphere who have been extremely helpful. If you want fairytales - go to Virgin

My husband and myself had a pre wedding , no kids , touring holiday to Japan. It was fantastic, the hotels great, the tours great, jam packed with places to see and a good variety. The sunrise tours they used were marvellous you didn't even had to think.Looking on value for money, after picking up local leaflets and seeing the cost of Shinkansen travel, how far we went and quality of hotels its amazing value for money. After xmas will be booking our next virgin tour. I have no complaints about a ...- Read Alison Bull's review (139 words)

A word of warning to future clients of Virgin Holidays;
One year ago today, I was holidaying at Crystal Cove Hotel, St James, Barbados, a hotel which is part of the Elegant Hotel Group.
I was sitting on the balcony outside my room while waiting for a call from the UK .When the phone rang, in my hurry to answer it, I literally walked through the large glass patio door. The glass smashed easily into shards. I am a 48 year old woman, 5'2" tall and a UK dress size 8 and the distance I had to trav ...- Read moirajapp's review (363 words)

Booked premium economy through Virgin Holidays from Glasgow to Orlando due to fly out on 10 Oct 2009. Received tickets and baggage allowance reduced to 23 KG from 32Kg allowed in cost of tickets. I called up customer service to complain. Surprise, surprise, an Indian call centre. They said there was nothing they could do and would not be honouring my baggage allowance or compensating me. I explained that they were in breach of contract and also guily of mis selling which is an offence. This ma ...- Read Guest's review (230 words)

If you go to the USA with Virgin Holidays expect problems, I was left at JFK for 3 hours no meet and greet after having paid for transfers to hotel. Hotel in Niagara Falls overbooked had a camp bed. you are passed to an American company when you arrive in the USA and thats where the problems start. I would not book with Virgin again the after sales complaints service is dreadful they are not interested, do not book with Virgin you will be sorry.- Read Guest's review (84 words)

I will never use these people again. For the second year on the trot had a bad experience. Yes we were fools to give a second chance. Return flight in Dubai we were left on Tarmac for 4 hours in 47 degree heat while they tried to rectify problem with plane. They wouldnt allow animals to be treated like we were treated. They eventually decided the crew would be "out of time" with the 7 hour flight home and told us to get off plane and we would be taken to hotel. Nobody in airport advising us how ...- Read Dinkumdo's review (322 words)

Aug 09 Orlando, New York and Las Vegas.Lovely holiday but the after sales service was appalling, took £60 of phone calls, threats of complaints and hanging on the phone an hour demanding to speak to a supervisor and still on the day of departure my elderly parents had no tickets, and we had no vouchers for our transfers. When we got to the various airports we were met with problems as documents were wrong, some things we had to pay for again as we were refused entry onto coaches etc, leaving ...- Read Guest's review (146 words)

Been using Virgin Holidays for years...Value is good and never had problems with excellent on site reps...but... the Customer Service is a disgrace..Almost every holiday requires phone calls prior to departure to get either the tickets delivered or promised discounts or car upgrades applied. This time I made a mistake in a passengers name and it cost £25 plus credid card extra on top to correct on line despite no vouchers having been issued to date..Sent off two emails over the last 10 day ...- Read Guest's review (145 words)

Our Virgin Holiday was fab!! Sun, sea, Sand!! Pool was practically on beach so was lovely. Stayed at the Rose Hall Beach Resort. Would definatly go back!! Well worth the money!! Food was great, people, complex, really really good. So relaxing, what more do you want on holiday! Lots of variety of choice of foods, drinks, and music on i think every night we were there. Just thinking about it just now, makes me want to go back for sure. I would watch when your going out of complex though, ...- Read Guest's review (194 words)

Truly awful Customer Services -- have been unable to get a Virgin Holidays agent on their 'Customer Services' number for days --- waiting 30 minutes at a time (at 10p per minute). Also 'their helpful advisers' do not respond to EMails - let alone within the 48 hours that their recorded message commits to.
They have failed to respond to a formal complaint to me (way past the 28 days allowed within ABTA Code of Practice)-- needless to say have escalated to ABTA.- Read Guest's review (81 words)

My husband and I are due to fly out next weekend to the USA on our holiday of a lifetime. However, we still have not got the tickets and are at our witsend. The customer service Virgin Holidays provides is appalling, you get put on hold for over an hour and then get told when you ring up on a different number that the support centre closed probably an hour during you being put on hold. Not amused. Then when get through to speak to someone you the customer real resolution to the problem. Not havi ...- Read Guest's review (229 words)

Haven't even been on my holiday yet, and I'm really frustrated with Virgin Holidays. Have telephoned every day for the past week, requesting my tickets to be sent and have not yet received them. I have been assured by the Indian call centre that they will be sent out today and yet each day, surprise surprise they haven't. I have spent nearly £4000 on this holiday and at the moment it's causing me nothing but distress and I have 6 connecting flights as part of the package which I am now ima ...- Read Guest's review (136 words and 1 comment)

We have always travelled with Virgin holidays and this year will be our last.We have had nothing but problems and we travel next week only to be told that we have to pick the tickets up on the morning before our flight before 11.30am if we wish to use the twilight checkin. We have work commitments so we have now paid for an hotel for nothing. We have booked into an hotel and was told by the Virgin representative over the telephone that all we had to do was to go to the airport and pick the ticket ...- Read Guest's review (186 words)

HONEYMOON NIGHTMARE
We booked our honeymoon to bali with virgin in a debenhams store. It has been a nightmare from day one. Firstly it was incredibly hard work to book it as the staff were not fully trained to do so and had to phone up, which took forever.
Secondly virgin phoned us two months after booking to say we had to change flights and leave our honeymoon a day earlier. This was because virgin had not confirmed the seats for our flights and they had now been taken. After ringing up the wo ...- Read mgibney's review (287 words)

Been to Florida 7 times already and going again this summer. Flown with various carriers; MyTravel, JMC, First Choice, but the undisputed best has to be Virgin.
Their flights are a lot more comfortable, particularly on the reluctant return night flight. The economy seat pitches are on a par with first class on other planes, and the inflight food and entertainment is excellent.
Arriving at Orlando International is as easy as it is exciting. Don't be worried about the double baggage pickup, it ...- Read steve584's review (240 words)

We booked fly drive to Miami for 5 people with Virgin Holidays. The car we got could only take 2 cases in the boot. After many hours we paid for an upgrade to a minivan. The local Virgin Holidays manager promised to pay in full for the upgrade. This didnt happen and now we are back in the UK they are refusing to honour the promise. In fact they say its our fault for not booing a larger car!! Have forwarded everything to Virgin Group Management to try and get a resolution.- Read dazzap's review (116 words)

Virgin cancelled our holiday to India in January, as there were not enough guides apparently. Still have NOT recieved a refund 3 months later. Tried emailing which just get ignored, and telephoning get fed up waiting for them to answer. I have never had such appalling so called customer 'service' from a holiday company. Book elsewhere.- Read turpinbank's review (71 words)

The whole start to end with Virgin was a nightmare. First they took £2400 directly from my bank account twice and took 7+ days to refund it after numerous phone calls. Had to ring for tickets a week before and a name was wrong. Had to pay £30 to change it and then Virgin did not change their booking system so had trouble at Gatwick and Orlando and many hours wait. Arrived at Orlando, no reps took hours to get car booked with them and then sent to wrong address to pick up keys, ...- Read Guest's review (118 words)

We have recently returned from a trip to Orlando, Florida and this is the first time we have used Virgin Holidays. It will be the last! We originally booked an Executive house, but in the months following making the booking, we read on a website that the development we were going to, no longer supplied Executive houses. We were also a little nervous as we had read negative reviews regarding our accommodation. I telephoned and emailed Virgin to check this information, and got very weak responses ...- Read jual's review (455 words)
