Since booking a tour with Virgin Holidays Ltd at one of their local retail centres, I have been less than impressed with the quality of customer service. In my latest encounter, I had difficulty in making a balance payment by cheque, as I object to the charge they would have levied for a credit card payment. I found the logic behind refusal incomprehensible as I was able to produce copies of paper work received which clearly stated that payment by cheque was acceptable. Virgin have gone downhill rapidly, particularly their customer services. My daughter and partner returned from Dubai on a Virgin all-inclusive holiday and, despite promising never to visit the same place twice, enjoyed it so much they immediately booked a return holiday. Do virgin actually read their reviews as surely if you do you would be getting something done with your incompetent staff , your holidays are not cheap so least a customer can expect is excellent service , two holidays booked with you for this year at a considerable cost but not one bit of information from you's had to find out and do everything ourselves and not called back as promised several times , what do you actually do to earn your fees… Read Full Review

Having booked with virgin to New York I anticipated a Virgin flight with air miles, oh no you don't only when you pay extra that they do not tell you about do you get air miles. Virgin holidays flew us to NY with BA terrible, when I requested Air Miles I was told no way, because I never booked through a shop or telephone but trough the email which is not evident on the website. I tried to do a telephone enquiry booking thinking it would be easier and more efficient......Boy was I wrong. “Misinformation in itinerary”

Our tour itinerary was at least 18 months put of date and promised tours, like sunrise over the Grand Canyon, we're cancelled. No dedicated pick up at the airport, we had a 40 minute wait for the hotel bus which was not what you need after an 11 hour flight. Now our Luxor or similar hotel in Vegas has changed to Circus Circus - not at all similar. Shame on Virgin, you fail to meet expectations and customer service totally missing. “Gone Very Downhill - Won't Use Again”

Having travelled with Vigin Holdays for several years we thought we would get the same quality of service this year. Sadly it has all gone to pot and the customer service has failed miserably. Maybe so but not what they tell you if you ever manage to speak to them. Anyway, it simply meant that my comment was aimed directly at Virgin Holidays rather than Virgin Atlantic who still appear to be properly managed.

“Total RIP OFF on CRUISES”

We paid £4500 for a cruise and flights on carnival Valor plus 3 nights stay in Puerto Rico, when I received my invoice from Carnival the cruise with a balcony room only cost under £1000 for both of us, including tips. Virgin therefore charged £3500 for flights to and from UK and 3 nights accommodation. My luggage was stolen from the secure storage area at the Royal Hicacos in Varadero, where I stored it based on the advise of Virgin holidays representative. I have been on several holidays which have been good. “Virgin Holidays car hire quotes misleading”

Be careful if you ask Virgin Holidays for a quote for car hire. We were well and truly hoodwinked this summer. We accepted a quote for a one way car hire, and booked and paid before we left the UK. When we picked up the car in LA we were told that there was an additional fee of $350 when we dropped off the car in Montana. The one way fee is not the issue. Booked our dream holiday in the Maldives with Virgin 9 months ago at a cost of over £13,000, taking great care that flight times etc all sensible as travelling with small child. With just 6 weeks until our holiday, Virgin told us they would no longer be honouring the original flight times and that we would have to spend 12 hours waiting in Dubai for connecting flight. We booked our holiday with Virgin Holidays. When booking they make a big deal of the fact that this is a Virgin company and use the branding to sell their product. They also strongly promote Virgin Atlantic on their website. However after booking Virgin Atlantic changed their flight schedule and cancelled our flight. Just got back from Orlando with Virgin holidays. The actual holiday was great hence the 4 stars. We stayed at a Disney resort and everything was wonderful........until the last day.
