“Worst travel experience or how Thomas Cook couldn't...”

It's difficult to find words to describe how bad customer service is. I have lost my suitcase in June 2014 after a flight on Thomas Cook airplane. I flew to Mallorca and when i got off the airplane my suitcase never arrived. Imagine coming to a 7 day holiday and losing luggage .I thought sure someone will assist me and will tell me what i should do. “Thomas Cook - your company is on a slippery downward...”

After having booked our package holiday I happened to read on a different website that our hotel has no lifts (not mentioned on the Thomas Cook website when booking nor in any of the small print). With 2 very young children and a disabled partner there is no way this would be viable for us given that if we were to be placed on any floor other than the ground floor then there would be no way of getting to our room. “Worst Travel Company”

I have been dealing with Thomas Cook since the return from my holiday at the Riadh Palms Hotel in Sousse, Tunisia on 11th March, 2015. Although in our 50's this was our honeymoon and having never been to Tunisia (this was my 39th holiday abroad)wanted to try somewhere different. “prejudice against disabled”

I have been forced to cancel my letter with Thomas Cook my distination was Hotel Vila Gale Nautico Portugal. Whilst the airlines were happy to take my portable dry cell buggy, the coach transferrers were not. I have to either cough up another £150.00- £200.00 for a private taxi or not go. “Customer Service”

I've just phoned 14th March 12.00 mid-day to pay the balance for my holiday. I wanted to check that specific details regarding extra legroom that I had previously booked was still ok. The girl I spoke to confirmed different seat numbers to those I had booked. This was not dealt with sympathetically and I was just told it was still ok - which I am sure it will be partly because I have no control over seating arrangements if seats are required by disabled people needing certain seats. “Cape Verde - Great”

My family and I recently took a trip to Cape Verde and stayed at Oasis Atlantico Salinas Sea - Santa Maria. A very nice place and food was good and it was a very lovely holiday. “Shocking customer service ”

Book a luxury holiday to the xcaret hotel in Mexico feb-March 2015 costing 4k for 2weeks in the royal club part of the resort with thomas cook after a 12 hour flight and 1 hour transfer I arrived at the hotel to be told they had no booking for the me at the royal club I then had to prove to them what I paid for the 1st booking was for a junior suite which I upgrade 2weeks before to the royal club the cost for the upgrade alone was 539 pounds they then gave me a red wristband and I asked does… Read Full Review

After reading other reviews it seems that no one at Thomas Cook bothers to read them. The complaints just keep adding up customer service don't want to know, no email address, you book your holiday on the recommendations of the staff only to find that they have been highly trained in subterfuge (to get as much of your money as they can for as little as possible}. “Worst company to fly with ”

Fault with plane before take off at Birmingham airport. We was boarded on to the plane and about to take of when they realised there was a problem with one of the doors, surely they should of noticed this before hand? Trying to arrange my holidays and comparing companies is now impossible with TC. Baggage is extra, car insurance is extra, and all cannot be added as previously. I booked a new cruise whilst on the last one on Royal Caribbean and Thomas Cooks takes over the booking in the local office . RC give a date of paying which in my case was April 7th the remaining amount which was over £3,000 , which is perfectly normal to do two months before the cruise . Then out of the I get a threatening letter telling me , a reminder they called it of paying all the remainder on 4 th Feb and failure to do so would result in a £25 late payment . I would have given no stars if I could. Very inadequate customer service department. I have had to chase them myself for a response regarding a complaint I had made in June2014 regarding a flight they had delayed by 9hrs. When I did receive a response the person clearly didn't read my emails properly. Each time I asked to speak to a manager/ supervisor 'no one is available'. I would never ever ever book a holiday through this company ever ever ever again. I was totally miss sold a holiday, the flight was like a sardine tin, the hotel staff abroad where all rude and I was even told to F off by one of them! If I'm going on holiday Thomas Cook tends to be the first travel agent I look at. However our trip to Cuba in December 2014 highlighted areas where they need to improve. Five hour delay flying out 2 hour delay flying back, all due to technical faults on airplane. Very bad flying out as aircraft in Manchester had technical problems and substitute airplane in Gatwick also had technical problems. Sort out your aircraft! “Thomas Cook Flexible trips, neglected area”

I booked about a month in advance and the money was taken off me immediately for hotel + Eurostar. They were to send the tickets few days before. Once you have paid up, you continue life making the money needed to pay up. Luckily, a day before I had some time and I checked travel documents. No tickets ! “Flexible Trips - AVOID!”

Check the Flexible Trip holidays carefully before you book - including Trip Advisor. We paid extra for an "Express Shuttle" so that we could make the most of our short holiday. In fact, we had to wait an hour for the shuttle, by which time the other passengers from the plane had already caught the coach and arrived at their hotels.
