Good Points: none
Bad Points: thomas cook
General comments: I booked a holiday for my family and friends a year ago and am due to fly in 4weeks time. I got a phones call from Thomas Cook saying that they no longer use the hotel and have offered us a replacement. I went in and saw the replacement was very tatty and worth less that what we had paid for. I mentioned another hotel I would like to stay at (I have a 16month old son so need to make sure hotel is suitable) and they said they couldn't offer us the hotel as its £70 extra. This is there fault after all and when I looked online at the new hotel I had requested was cheaper with every other company. I had looked at and was flying on same flights and same day. I told Thomas Cook this and they couldn't even say sorry. They are rude over priced and most of my friends have had problems with them. I cancelled my holiday in the end and thankfully managed to book it online!

Our beautiful holiday to Jamaica, has been spoiled for me, and my daughter and son, we had the receipts and all documents, to fly on the 4th of May 08 and we went to the Manchester airport at 5am to check in and then, they said that we unable to travel because of date error. Id spoken to the travel operators on the 3rd to confirm when we were to check in as it was an early flight. So the operators could have told me that there was a problem when I had phoned to inquire about the holiday. I had s ...

Will never fly with them again. Truly awful. Well, we got vegetarian meals even though we'd booked them but they had no record of this on board. Cramped. Rude cabin crew. After 8 hour delay in airport they took 2 hours to get drinks to some passengers. Meal was served after 3 and a half hours. Off hand attitude. Will never fly with them again. Truly awful.

We booked our holiday in Nov 07 and prior to us paying 9 weeks before we found out that our holiday to Cuba has dropped by £600 (not as a cancellation or sale) the company said nothing can be done. So it is now time to pay the remainder of the holiday. I've had two letters asking me to pay but I cant get through, I've been cut off countless times, I've left 7 messages and e-mails that are being ignored!! am I going on holiday in 7 weeks? I don't know, I do know though that I am going to ...

Flight now has a block on it and it could be cancelled, departure airport changed, flight date changed, carrier changed - all currently unknown. All I want is confirmation flight is okay or opportunity to cancel and cannot get either from Thomas Cook which means I cannot alter my holiday as I am not prepared to fly with Monarch and will only fly Thomson or First Choice. I asked if I cancel today and you don't refund my deposit however you cancel or amend the flight in 2 months time will you refu ...

I booked a holiday to Egypt and 2 weeks before I was due to fly my hotel was changed. I looked at the reviews for this Hotel and to say the least they were garbage. Thomas Cook agreed to repay my holiday in full, I have a telephone message to this affect, I am still waiting. Is November to April regarded as reasonable time for refunding by the holiday industry. I would not recommend T.C.

My husband I flew to Cuba and stayed at the Playa Pesquero in November 2007 and we were not impressed.
We upgraded our flight to premium this was a joke! Aircraft was dirty, cabin crew announcements unprofessional, we had to beg for drinks (these were included in our very expensive upgrade), food very poor, head phones did not work, toilets dirty with an unpleasant smell and there were no complimentary newspapers as advertised in their brochure. The hotel was definitely not a 4star plus as adver ...

I flew with Thomas cook in January 2008 from Gatwick to Barbados. I have to say the flight out and return was so bad that it has put me off of flying ever again, I have suffered panic attacks and nightmares at the thought of flying and I will not be going to a destination that requires flying to again.
We had aggressive drunk people on the flight, which the cabin crew did nothing about except for sell them more alcohol, this put us in fear of what was going to happen through out the whole 8 hour ...

Booked a holiday 7 months in advance to Egypt and were told 2 days before we flew out they had changed our accommodation. We were given no alternative and told to like it or lump it. The hotel they put us in was disgusting and in the middle of nowhere and not a patch on the 5 star that I had booked and paid for. On returning we have sent several complaint letters, emails and made several phone calls, none of which have been replied to. They are the worst Customer service team I have ever came ac ...

We have traveled to Tunisia twice with Thomas Cook and both times have found them to be very efficient. On arrival at the airport we were told where the coach would be. We were given some information there and then. The meeting the following morning was informative and entertaining. At no time were we pushed into buying excursions.
We did go to the reps cabaret night. That was really good fun and would recommend it other people. Only bad point was that it was in Sousse and because we were ...

I have been on several Thomas Cook flights and have never had a bad one. Flights always on time, flight crew always very nice and helpful, hotels have always been fantastic. Overall I think they are a great company. My travel agent and I get on really well and they are always willing to go that extra wee bit to help me with my holiday arrangements

Having travelled with Thomas Cook for many years. I thought only of traveling with them again this year as I headed off to Sunny Ibiza!! Unfortunately we never arrived until 2.30 in the morning having had long day at the other end we decided to go out and stretch our legs. Time we got to the hotel and chucked our bags in the room we went for a walk!! As we were walking through the town myself and my husband there was a motorbike come whizzing past me and next thing I know I'm lying on the groun ...

Thomas Cook have ruined my holiday plans since taking over from My Travel. They refuse to address my complaints simply by ignoring my letters and emails. I have a telephone bill for £10 by them keeping me in a holiday queue. I've offered to meet them to discuss matters however as one would imagine their response is nil. I understand that I am not alone regarding unreasonable alterations to holidays made by this company!

Thomas Cook Jewels of the Nile Cruise. MS Terramar was excellent. My husband and I enjoyed this holiday more than any other we have had. The ship, the crew, the food, the accommodation was excellent. The tours were made extra special because of the wonderful Egyptian English speaking guide. He made Egypt come alive and taught us so much. He was professional, caring, humorous and good natured. The tours were extremely well organised. You must go.Everyone should experinece this cruise, but they mu ...

We booked with Thomas Cook to visit Turkey for the solar eclipse in 2006. We had the date and airport changed a couple of months before departure and the hotel changed just days before. We had paid extra for a sea view room and we found ourselves in a building the furthest away from the sea that was possible. It took almost a year to get our £56 returned and only because ABTA beccame involved.
This year we booked again with Thomas Cook with trepidation and our worst fears were realise ...

Thomas Cook should be ashamed of themselves I would like to see their management try a long flight to see for themselves but I am sure they are already aware I will be contacting Princess cruises to advise them that if they continue to use Thomas Cook I will not be cruising with them again

We should be traveling to Hurghada tomorrow and were just leaving for the airport hotel when the phone rang. It was an independent travel agent saying Thomas Cook had moved us from the Mamlouk Palace to the Holiday Resort Hotel. There was no negotiation it was this hotel or nothing. We chose nothing and now look forward to two weeks of cold not the warmth we were expecting. I went into Thomsons travel agent later and the hotel we were offered was starred in red on their computer as not very g ...

We flew with Thomas Cook from Gatwick to the Dominican Republic TCX65k 28/01/08.
The plane on the outbound flight was dirty, there was chocolate on the seats, bits of food down the sides of the seats, the magazines were few and far between and the ones we did have were old, grubby and covered in greasy food stains. Being a long haul flight we were advised to drink plenty of water of which wasn't offered and when we asked for it we were charged ££1.50 for a small bottle of water. On ...

I am not happy and have contacted Trading Standards, Thomas Cook Direct still don't want to know and refused to let me speak to a manager, my phone calls keep getting fobbed off and promises to call back to solve the issue have been broken.

I booked my holiday with Manos but then they got taken over by Thomas Cook and I was told I would be getting a new invoice and booking reference. I phoned loads of times and every time was told it would be sent it never did arrive and now I have received a letter changing the flights by 2 days.
I will never book with Manos or Thomas Cook again.
