    Good Points: Quiet smooth high speed spin cycle. Functions well generally.


    General comments: Indesit WIL133 washing machine may function well but is easily and expensively damaged by water. At six weeks, when the kitchen floor was flooded to a depth of two inches or so, the machine died. A Comet technician explained that the electronic processor which is sited near the bottom of the casing is not sealed and water does it irreperable damage. Also, the main power supply enters an unsealed terminal block even lower. Because power was switched on at the time, he said that the motor would also be damaged. These poor design features mean that a serious water leak will probably cause extensive damage which other machines would survive. Apparently similar Bosch machines have the same design features. The symptom of such damage is rapidly flashing red start/reset LED accompanied by wild flashing from function button LEDs. The technician said it would take 7 working days to get spares because it's a new design.
