I am afraid they have lost a customer, I need to be able to trust the companies I do business with, and the first thing they need to improve to help regain this is their communication policy.

Bought the item on Wednesday, it arrived Friday, and also ceased to function on Friday. Arranged with Lowestonweb.com to return the item to them for replacement, only to be told that cost of return (and only special delivery is accepted) must be paid by me and would not be refunded, regardless of the item being faulty. Needless to say, my request for a replacement was immediately withdrawn and I am now waiting for a refund. DO NOT GET CAUGHT OUT LIKE ME!

written by john loader on 26/09/2005

I bought a Quest PC from LowestOnWeb in March. The microphone wouldn't work. Tech support never came up with an answer, and my neighbour showed me an obscure windows tick box (no other PC I've bought had this unticked). Skype, the world's most popular VoIP software was too quiet, and they couldn't care. The Hauppage software for the Nova Win PC crashed my PC. They just referred me to Hauppage, and it took over a week to send me new drivers, even though they did direct me to ATI download site, but without telling me what to download. I am still waiting for a solution to stop the ATI software trying to load on boot up - in Hungarian! Lifetime support doesn't mean your lifetime or that of the PC, but of the operating system. I upgraded one machine (an Evesham from their parent company) from Windows 98 to XP SP2, and they didn't want to know about new drivers for the original sound card.
If they could get technical support sorted, and were a bit more imaginative at testing their products, they'd be the best!

“On the 18th October I purchased from Lowestonweb.co.uk...”

written by maxcottle on 04/11/2004

On the 18th October I purchased from Lowestonweb.co.uk one of each of the following;

. MSI MS-7025 K8N Neo2 Platinum
MS-7025 £79.99
. AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2GHz 512KB L2 cache socket 939
ADA3500DEP4AW £227.28

The total price came to £307.27

They were delivered today to my home address, when I got home and opened the packaging I was appalled to see that somebody had taken the MSI motherboard and AMD Processor out of there original packaging and squashed them into a box causing the box to bulge. The Athlon 64 wasn't even in an antistatic bag. The antistatic bag that the MSI motherboard arrived in shows signs of obvious pressure and stress where the cables and Processor have been squashed down on it.

Any moron would know that these are highly sensitive components I couldn't tell whether these have been used before, or if I had received everything that I should have with the components, but most of all, understanding how sensitive these components are and seeing that they were packed so very poorly, how could I trust that these components are not damaged, degraded or completely dead? In fact I would be more surprised if they are not.

Who sends processors out with no Anti Static protection, the one I recieved had a greasy thumb print on it as well.

So I sent them back to lowestonweb stipulationg that I wanted the goods sent to me this time SEALED in Their Origional packaging. I had to Pay to post them back Special delivery, which I will say Low have agreed to reinburse me for.

So a week or so later I recieve the replacements from Low. Squashed into a bulging out of shape creative box, The Motherboard is in MSI packaging but it looks like someone has pulled it from the dustbin corners all scuffed, creased and torn, NOT SEALED but the processor came back to me in a jiffy bag, and what did I see when I opened it? the same little black box with no Anti Static protection. So Again I sent the order back asking that this time they cancel the order and they give me my money back, again I had to pay, but they have agreed to refund my origional order which according to them will take 7-10 days.

Low obviously use Chimpanzees to pack their components and will take things out of their origional packaging to save the cost of postage. That's all well and good if you are selling robust products, but not expensive electrical components, by the way Low Claim that everything they sell is OEM, but they don't tell you that before you buy it or that you don't get the 3 year warranty that I would have got with AMD for the processor etc I recieved no paper work or anything.

I would NOT reccomend them to anybody,
Oh and by the way Lowestonweb don't have an admin or sales line so if you have a problem with your order your options are send an email which they will be slow to respond to or phone their support line which is a premium rate line and costs £1 per min.

I have purchased a rather expensive graphics card from LowestOnWeb and paid for next day delivery. It took them over a day to authorize payment through my credit card.

I spoke with my credit card company to see if I could hurry it through and they stated they had not even received a request.

Payment has now been made and another day has passed and they still have not dispatched the goods.

2 emails have been sent that they have read (receipts received) and they have not replied.

Paid extra for next day delivery now been 2 days and product not even dispatched.

Totally agree. Customer services just will not answer emails. On my second faulty Evesham Radeon 9800 Pro graphics card and they wont send me a RMA. Pathetic!
