“7 months to pay!!!”

Our caravan was stolen after only owning for 1 month - the caravan club were recommended to us by a few people. We had to wait, wait, wait and mither and mither. The lady on the other end of the phone was very unhelpful - we eventually got our money back but we have not insured our new caravan with them… Read Full Review

“Terrible service ”

We have just made a claim on theft damage to our caravan and it has so far taken six weeks and we are still no closer to a resolution. They are now claiming that we 'over insured' our van despite the fact that I can not get a caravan of that age for less than what I paid ( it is a 1992 bailey discovery 4 berth and we insured it for £1000) they have offered me half its value which is totally unacceptable as I could never replace it for £500. “Poor Service - Avoid like the Plague”

I have just had the pleasure of having to make a claim on my 5C's Insurance for total loss of our caravan which was stolen 4 weeks ago. Firstly if you are insured with them make sure you dont have your van stolen on a Friday evening. They only work 9-5 Monday to Friday !! Secondly when you do finally get through on the phone, don't believe them when they say they will send you a claim form in the post. “Terrible customer service - Caravan Club Motorhome...”

I would definitely not recommend the Caravan Club Insurance for motorhome insurance due to their poor customer service, poor opening hours, a call back service that they don't call you back on and misleading information (in my opinion) on their policies. “poor customer servi e and miss leading”

Booked policy online docs came through with major flaws spoke to call centre terrible customer service simple it was tough the girl even said they were trying to sort out web site as there were errors end result much higher premium as a member u expect better service so my advice go else where also their overseas breakdown cover is not competitive identicle cover if u search will save u lots spend the time they really do not have members in mind despite ramming the sales of insurance down our… Read Full Review

Had a similar experience. Booked and Paid insurance online quoting a quote I'd had from another company as my best quote. Anyway it turns out that that section was just for quotes from your current insurer . I found this out after phoning for a cover note and was then told they couldn't insure me unless I paid another £400 as that was now the best price they could offer. Needless to say I cancelled and will now go with the original best quote I had . Was very disappointed as you'd expect better from the caravan club.

“claims line not open on a saturday what a joke”

my front window of my caravan blow out saturday morning .i tried to phone the claims line to find they are close every weekend. “Hiding behing the fine print....”

Just like the previous reviewer, I had the similar problem about their 'new for old' policy. But get this - they know how old your caravan is when you insure with them, BUT if you don't tell them it's older than 3 years (the cut-off point for new for old) then they'll still happily charge you the (higher) new-for-old rate!! “Having renewed our Standard 5C's insurance policy...”

Having renewed our Standard 5C's insurance policy since purchasing our 2005 caravan from new, the first page of the insurance documentation always stated the sum insured. However, within the wording of the conditions, new for old cover is only available poviding the caravan is less than 3 years old. Despite the fact the sum insured is clearly shown giving you a sum to replace new for old and the premium is caculated on this basis. My friend is currently trying to get a claim paid out. It has now been 18 weks and they are still arguing. I think next year I will not be insuring with the caravan club insurance. The whole point of insurance is that if something horrible happens you get paid out, not have to go through further trauma only to be told no.
