Good Points: Thought-provoking, can't stop watching it, brings back the reality of America's greed.

Bad Points: Sad! Can't think of any.

General comments: John Q. - Story: Outstanding Characters / Performances: Outstanding Special Effects: Good I watched this movie last night and I was blown away. I really wasnt expecting much at all, but I really loved it. The story is basically about a father who has a son (aged about 8) who has heart failure. He needs a transplant or he will die (only few days to live). So John Q (father) thinks he has insurance for this kind of thing, and says sure I'll go ahead with it....only to find out he had no insurance after all. Hospital wants $120,000 now or they are going to throw his son out. Pretty unbelievable stuff, it really makes you sick thinking that money is more important than saving someone's life. The American goverment can surely aford to pay for these sort of surgeries, I mean it is the richest country in the world and dare I say the greediest! So the film goes on to show John selling everything he owns...trying different ways to raise money to save his son's life, only to find out his son has been discharged even thou he paid them $20,000 the day before (I was really angry!). So John Q was, of course, really angry and the only way he could save his son's life was by taking the hospital hostage. This was a great film, I must say that the tissues must be ready in advance! lol But, you know that John wouldn't hurt anyone really and this is illustrated when at the end he showed the gun he used had no bullets in it all along!lol I REALLY ADVISE EVERYONE TO WATCH, WHOLE FAMILY. It really touched my heart and shows how greedy this world is becoming.
