Good Points: Extremely good with kids, likable, easy-going, doesn't need much exercise, docile.
Bad Points: Prone to various ailments, and does not do well in warm or dry climates.
General comments: English Bulldogs are awesome if you are looking for a pet. They are not dogs to take on a long jaunt or travelling (much,) and they are NOT guard dogs!! They would be more likely to lick an intruder to death than to defend the family silver. They are wonderful with children, and extremely tolerant of the pokes and rough play they may get from a child, mainly because they just want love and affection. They are very loyal and calm, and can even be funny. And they do draw lots of attention and smiles. However, just as with any dog, some of their behavior is dependent on the owner. An English Bulldog is also an excellent, low-key pet for an older person who is not able to take the dog for long walks, as long as they can also afford regular vet visits, and possibly regular medication for the dog.
