I will never book with this company again usually I book direct form the airport. I needed a car for the next day for my 2 kids to go to Peppa Pig world as we were visiting family in the UK. I thought I bought full insurance cover which was actually pretty pointless as it is not recognised by the partner companies. RIP OFF. “Not settling any claim under the Excess Refund!”

I booked a car with AutoEurope and had an accident during the rental period. I had to settle the claim within my excess with the original provider. Subsequently, I claimed my Excess Refund from AutoEurope and after now 3.5 months, I am still waiting for AutoEurope to settle my claim! I get dodgy explanations that AutoEurope is still waiting (after 3.5 months!!!) for an answer from Hertz whether they are planning to claim from a third party or not. This is ridiculous. I have just returned Sat 13th Sept 2014 from Menorca having hired a car from Auto Europe for 14 days. On arrival at Mahon Airport we joined the queue at the car hire desk, there were only 2 people in front of us. It took over an hour to get to the desk. “Dont use Hertz in Pisa”

In fairness Auto Europe are the car hire brokers which are usually very good and in this case not their fault. The Hertz car hire desk had 2 staff and this was at 11 30 at night. The other car hire desks including Europcar (who we normally use) were all empty of customers.6 customers were in front of me and it was almost 1 am before I was served. “Arrived-No Car”

Booked a car with Auto Europe 3weeks prior to my holiday in Turkey. Auto Europe emailed me the information of provider and stipulated that they had an office in the Terminal. On Arrival there was no office in the Terminal and no one knew of the company. Eventually I found someone who had heard of the provider and his office was the bonnet of a car in the airport carpark. “Awful service,paid the car,never got it,money never...”

I booked a car when travelling from UK to Spain and was supposed to pick up the car from Malaga, Spain. I paid everything upfront and when I got there I was declined the car (unknown reasons). The problem is that since then I've been trying to obtain the refund and that was about 3 months ago, numerous e-mails and letters sent to them. The only time a supplier may refuse to release a vehicle is when the correct documentation is not provided, for example; drivers licence, passport or a credit card.
This information is outlined in the booking terms and conditions.

If this is the case they will then class the booking as a cancellation and may apply a cancellation fee.

“Hertz Car Hire Experience”

In short the exterior of the car was not very clean. The message left in the car detailed that if the interior of the car was not cleaned before return then a charge of 60 euros would be levied. On picking up the car , which i had booked and given card details on line, i was advised that there was an extra charge (local tax) of 6 euros per day. Why is this not included in the quote online? Booked through Auto Europe, collected the car from Hertz at Perpignan airport, dropped the car off at Nice airport 2 weeks later. The car(Hyundai ix35) was fine and easily large enough for 4 adults and our luggage. The car clearly wasn't full when we collected it as this model has a fuel gauge shown in 1/6ths and although all 6 levels were showing when we left the airport, the display dropped to the next level almost immediately. I am very disappointed with one major aspect of the car hire. When we made a prepaid on line booking for 9 days we made a mistake and entered the arrival day as the 22nd August when in fact our flight arrived on 23rd in Alghero. when we arrived at the Thrifty desk we were told our reservation had expired and there was no car available - they had all gone. With all of our suppliers there is a 'cancellation fee / no show' which is applied; the fee is set by the suppliers head office and it can sometimes happen that the depot staff are not aware of this.

The Bologna Hertz representative( through Auto Europe) on the 16th August was on her own at the check in desk. As a result we had to wait over an hour to be processed. She was very unhelpful and bordering on rude. She tried to sell us more car insurance otherwise she said we would have to claim back any costs incurred from Auto Europe. “good but queues too long”

Happy with the price and the online confirmation etc. Unfortunately spoiled by the huge queue at the airport and the 35 minute wait before being served. Actually the queue wasn't that long, but with only 2 people on the counter initially, plus an average service time of around 15 minutes per person, the wait was ridiculous. We had pre-booked, pre-paid, bought all the insurance etc, so it should have been a 5 minute job at best. When we finally got to the counter the person was great - helpful… Read Full Review

I recently arranged to rent a car from Autoeurope for 18 days at Vienna airport. Everything went smoothly until month after returning to US I got additional charge from Enterprise for insurance I didn't agree too. After going back & forth with my credit card company & Autoeurope disputing the charges, Enterprise & visa would not agree to reimburse me. Past car rental history usually means there will be a problem. But booked through auto europe and rented from europcar. As a few people to transport hired a focus estate but included zero excess when booked on line. When picked car up very helpful staff advised car was in fact mondeo estate with sat nav, so a definite good result. I did rent a car with GoldCar in Palma Spain for 3 days and paid in advance to AutoEurope. I was delayed and when I arrived to pick up the car for the remaining period (more than 48 hours) they told me the car was rented out to somebody else and that they did not pay back anything. We are very sorry to hear that you experience with Goldcar and Auto Europe did not go well.
The suppliers do hold vehicles for the clients; however the limit on how long is dependent on the supplier. In most cases they will a couple of hours and if no notice of a delay is given to them they can rent out the vehicle should a client need one.
If you did contact the depot to advise of the delay, or gave the flight details upon booking and they were stated on your car hire voucher please do contact our customer service team so that they can further look into this.

“Hertz rental France”

I was very pleased with the service at Hertz at Avignon TGV. They were very helpful and gave me a map and advised me on the journey. With this and a previous rental in Sicily I paid for Auto Europe's collision damage waiver insurance beforehand, which seems reasonable and means peace of mind and no being hassled with extras when you pick up. I forgot to fill up but they directed me to the nearest station rather than charge their exultant fuel rates… Read Full Review
