At certain times it takes ages to pick up your car, we have waited 2 hours in Majorca due to the number of customers and over 1 hour in Alicante. Good cars, nice counter staff. All round very good but sort out the delays in picking up the car

Good Hire company, very competitive price. I would definitely use again. Recommended. Price was extremely good. New Megane diesel provided, which gave no trouble at all. Quickly dealt with at pick up desk in Malaga airport. Due to fuel driver protest no diesel available at garages on return, Record's charge was very reasonable to fill tank.

Everything went smoothly.
This is the second time I have used them and will do again in the future.
Did not get the car we booked (Renault Clio), ended up with a Hyundai Getz but that was not a problem.

From my experience at Malaga Airport I suggest that Record is AVOIDED.
1 - A charge of 30 Euros is added to the rental if you collect the vehicle "out-of-hours" (i.e. after midnight). This is not shown as part of the booking information, or price breakdown that you print out for yourself. Record class this as an "out-of-hours charge for delivery". (note - we 'collected' the car at the airport).
2 - Despite purchasing the "fully comprehensive" insurance offered by Record, I ended up paying an ...

I went with Record because of the reviews on this site. However, I think they only apply to certain offices and not the one we used at Malaga Airport. The office was busy at checkout. No legally required equipment (reflective vests and warning triangles). Dirty car. Damage on car not recorded on documents. This entails an argument with the security guard to allow you back into arrivals to enable you to either record the damage or get another car. No one available when dropping the car off and th ...

Avoid Doyouspain and record rental. Find a UK based agent in case there is a problem.

We found the Record rent a Car office easily, and the clerk was very helpful. We picked an economy, ford KA or similar with air conditioning. On arrival though we were given a Citroen Berlingo, which was more spacious.
Whilst it was parked and we were away the front was scrapped. When we returned the car I explained what had happened. The clerk was very understanding, and I filled out a simple form with where the damage was and what happened, and they took care of the rest.

The whole experience with Record Rent a Car was straightforward and stress free. The weekly rate was very good. Because I wanted a diesel and there was not one in the class I'd asked for, we were given a larger vehicle (Citro n Picasso instead of a Renault Clio) at not extra charge.
The vehicle was supplied full of fuel, and I returned it full, having filled up at a nearby garage, which was cheap.
When we go back to Tenerife, we'll use them again.

We have used Record Rent a Car in Palma de Mallorca airport about 8 times now as we love going to Mallorca. We have always found them to be the cheapest in Mallorca; up to half the price of other agents for the same cars. If you sign up on their website, you get a discount the next time you book too. The cars have always been good - they are usually brand new and we have never had any problems, either mechanically or with the standard of cleanliness. Booked as usual through the excellent Economy Car Hire.Com website. One week hire, November 2004 at £99.
Arrived at Arrecife. Found the Record Car Hire Representative in the arrivals area. Was amazed to find that Record do not have an office at the Airport (or we could not find one!), and do their business out of a small concrete building resembling a bus-shelter.
