“SIXT PALMA AIRPORT - AVOID LIKE THE PEST”

Staff just plain rude. They just do the strict minimum required. Don't bother hiring a TOMTOM, they don't work. Don't bother hiring a OPEL CORSA, it has this feature that requires using the clutch before you can start the car. It's OK if you know, it's not if you don't. You are stranded. Always (and I have stupidly used them many times) a very bad service from trying to coerce you into an expensive upgrade, cars not being ready and made to wait over an hour, cars being unavailable, poor quality class of vehicles (advertise a VW Golf and supply a Kia!) to swearing/abusive reps in front of young children (yes, many a complaint still not dealt with by Sixt!). “Deplorable Service”

Sixt rent a Car have very good technology, however have deplorable customer service. and are Very arrogant people. They asked me for my Sriving license (understandable), my Passposrt (Why as I am in my country), National Insurance number (I am renting a car not getting married to the place)! “Not what I expected”

Started out to be a good experience, People were extremely friendly and courteous. Took my reservation and booked me for a Mercedes for my visit in Seattle. Deducted the cost of vehicle on my DEBIT card. Upon arrival in Seattle I was told I could not rent a premium car and was given a Toyota Rav4 due to not having a CREDIT card. I booked a car with Sixt online to be picked up in La Rochelle. I paid online, but on arrival in France, I was made to sign a 50 Euro night charge as I picked the car after 6 pm. I was never informed of that charge at the time of booking although Sixt knew that I am picking up car after hours. There was no mention of any night charge in any of their term and conditions. I booked an automatic nine seater from the UK for my arrival the weekend at Copenhagen Airport. I turned up at the desk to be told they didn't have one but could offer me a discount on a manual 9 seater. I told them I didn't want a manual and they just shrugged and didn't offer anything else. I asked for my money back which they couldn't give me because the money was taken by the UK office. We rented from Sixt in Ostuni, Italy via Rentalcars.com which looks like being a source of confusion in terms of reclaiming money and complaining. I paid by credit card to Rentalcars.com with Full Protection and completed full details for two drivers only to have to complete all the details again at the Sixt office in Italy. We rented a car with sixt in Edinburgh earlier this month to bring our daughter to university. When we arrived, exhausted after traveling for 20 hours through three different airports, sixt did not have the large vehicle on the lot that we had reserved to accommodate our daughter's university flat needs. Collected the car at Belfast (not quite city airport!). Was surprised the location was listed as Belfast city airport as it wasn't quite. We were collected at the airport and driven to the depot about 5 mins away. The staff were excellent and extremely helpful. They provided guidance and advice and made the experience very easy. I booked my car hire through Atlaschoice and hadn't heard of Sixt Car Hire previous to this occasion. I booked very early and was pleased with the price of the hire, I only wanted a 'Mini' sized vehicle as I was visiting friends. Having found the Sixt desk in Arrivals n Dublin Airport, I was not made to wait behind a couple of passengers who were deciding which vehicle they would want to hire and instead the staff at the desk said to go wait for the shuttle bus outside. “Dirty Van Trick ”

The company are using a smart trick of making more money on their hires. I was moving house and urgently required a van to move my goods. So rather then going to the local cheap van hire company, I wanted a safer option and decided to go with Sixt rent a car, as they are a bigger and well known company. 1) Front desk customer service - unfriendly and inefficient. I collected my car from Victoria station @ 8.30am in the morning with no one queuing before me. Be careful with SIXT!!! We rented a car in the early Auguest in Birmingham, UK. When we returned the car, the person said there was no problem and asked us to sign. I even asked when we can get a refund of the deposit. He said just in a few days. Then we found there was a new damage according to the document. Partially it's our fault that we didn't check the damages carefully when we rented and returned the car. A car rental with Sixt was one of the best decisions on my trip to the UK in 2014. The car was not only ready on time, all services were clockwork, and the condition (cleanliness, fragrance, servicing, over all condition) of the car was as good as new. Though Sixt could add hourly rentals for repeat customers instead of full day rates (a full day rate for a few extra hours over 24 may be a little unfair to some), the value for the money I spent on the rental was great.
