My car hire was from the Malta Airport office (not sure if its a franchise). I hired a BMW Convertible for a week, Upon arrival the car hire desk was closed and the emergency number contact told me that they had no record of my booking! So late in the evening after a long day of travelling I had to pay 35euro to get a taxi to the airport. I had booked a 4 door car. After a long wait, with other customers complaining about wrong cars/incorrect billing, and with a family, luggage, rain and a long walk to the car compound, I took the 2 door car that awaited me without complaint. The car had a few minor scratches, but nothing significant. On return, the rep took a photo of the passenger door - it had a minor scratch and she said it was nothing to worry about, just needed it for the records. Hired a vehicle from Sixt in Palma de Mallorca. Endured about ten minutes of tedious upselling and finally got away. Returned the car a week later, and a few days after that, was charged £44 for "navigation system guarantee". At no point was there any mention of the nav, which was factory fitted, nor of the "guarantee" -- whatever that may be -- and I certainly wasn't offered the chance to refuse it. “Unprofessional Service/a Staff”

I rented the car online and found the car not ready for pick up. The staff and employed weren't helpful at all, and kept on texting and socializing while we were waiting for over 1.5 hours. The manager who didn't give any suggestion to solve the problem ( which was renting a nice and unbroken car) also started defending her co-worker who was so rude to us and yelling 'who the hell are you?' Sixt IBIZA Rip off!!! When you take the car, there are impacts on vehicles and they tell you that it is noted in the contract and they show you the impacts to reassures you. They recommend you take full insurance package by saying it's better to Ibiza with a big smile! When you return the car (BMW 5 days) They accuse you to have broken or damaged the car and they present you dated pictures without impacts. I am an Australian that travelled from the UK with his wife and used SIXT in Paris. The car rental was fine however problems began when we went to return the car. Firstly, the fuel gauge was faulty and although we filled the tank to the top, it still showed only 3/4 full. On our return I explained this to the rep who checked my receipt and spoke to his manager and said it was fine. He did not give me any paperwork (my mistake). “Fantastic! Free Upgrade too”

Turned up at Gatwick Airport to collect my pre booked BMW 1 series. Sixt's customer service adviser, Karl, politely informed me that the car was not ready. in his words, "we cannot have you waiting around sir, can i offer you a free upgrade to a 3 series?". I rented a car today from sixt in terminal 2 in Dublin Airport. I reserved the Toyota rav 4 the night previous. When I arrived to the desk there were 9 people in front of me in the queue. I arrived there at 12.50, I didn't get seen to until 13.55!!!! Over an hour! My flight from the uk was shorter than the wait I had ! We had originally booked goldcar through holiday autos but cancelled after looking at reviews on here and changed to Sixt. It was more money but after landing in palma and seeing the massive, non moving queue at goldcar it seemed a bargain. Nice car, nice staff, easy checkin and out. Sixt decided that after I had returned the car to deduct another £400 from my account. No explanation and it looks as though they have deducted extra money for insurances that clearly wouldn't have been valid as they deducted the money after we returned from the holiday. I rented a car from Sixt in Spain in July 2014. They mentioned a security deposit at collection, saying that twice the amount would be blocked on my car but that, when I return the car, half the money would be taken for the rental and the other half would get unblocked. I returned the car. 4 days later, they took the rental from my account and the entire deposit (over £400) remained locked for another week (11 days in total). I have rented from Heathrow Terminal 5 twice over the last few months, both times I was not happy with the service, having booked online for pick up at 8am at terminal 5, I was told that they didn't have the group car there and that I could upgrade if I wanted to, no I wanted the car I booked a few weeks before online!! Sorted out the car insurance in England in February 2014 and told this covers our holiday in Italy in TOTAL. Went to pick car up in Rome and told to pay another 600+ Euros because not insured beyond the city limits. We complained but told no car if you do not pay extra. Experienced very poor service from Sixt renting a car from Marseille. They were unable to provide any of the four models that were listed for the category that I had prepaid for, on my complaint they quite literally pointed me to,their small print which has the usual weazle words. Rented a Minivan from SixT Car Rental at Myrtle Beach Airport for my recent vacation. After reserving the van on-line I was told they ran out when I got there. The van they finally found for me was a piece of junk. Smashed rear fender and bumper. It was dirty and only had 1/2 tank of gas in it. I booked a car to collect in Riva del Garda, Italy which I needed at short notice for an urgent journey. I received 2 emails confirming my reservation and explaining what documents to bring. When I arrived to collect the car I was told no cars were available. I booked a car with Sixt through Arguscarhire. The final quote was 163 euro including ALL charges. At the desk Sixt insisted it is 240 euro or no car. Without much choice I had to accept and I complained later they reply was - you signed so no refund. Again no e plantation given. I took the car at Ljubljana airport and returned at Zagreb airport.
