Totally incompetent! They may be cheaper than others but not worth the aggravation. They don't know what they are doing. Our group booked 2 cars at the airport in Genoa, Italy, and we were told they were open till 11PM but actually they closed at 6PM. They reopened the place because they had actually told several other people the same thing and then charged all of us an after hours charge for their mistake. “Beware - unfair additional charges, later!”

I feel ripped off by Europcar and will certainly be not recommending them! Upon returning the vehicle, the Europcar attendant noticed that the fuel gauge did not register completely full (top bar failing to illuminate - we'd selected the Full to Full option)); I explained that we'd also noticed this and tried on two occasions to refuel within 6k of the airport to resolve this problem (even getting a pump-attendant to refuel to ensure it was completely full). “Hidden Fees”

Picked up rental car from Glasgow airport, paid $400 dollars rental for 4 weeks, customer service asked me to return the car before 8am 4 weeks later. “Watch Out with this company”

I rented a car to that company on the 13/0/2015 for 5 days. I had 350 Km. a day for free. I made a trip but for personal reasons I returned the car on the second day. A few days later I noticed that Europcar had withdraw from my account an amount of money for exceeding the granted number of Kilometers. I hadn´t used my granted 350x5 Km. We hired from europcar to pick up at Pisa airport. Although the attitude of the lady behind the counter changed once we told her we already had our own excess insurance policy we shrugged it off and went to pick up the car. Our journey was just over an hour on mostly motorway so not hard going for the car. I booked Europcar car hire from Belfast International Airport over the internet using the Easyjet website. I was assured 'we will not hit you with unexpected charges on arrival' on their booking page. However an extra £120 of verbally unagreed or discussed charges were taken off my credit card, as I discovered on arrival back home. “Deposit”

What a waste of time. they take your deposit very quickly but it takes 10 days to give it back to you... with no interest. Use Thrifty you get your deposit the next day plus Thrifty charges half of what Europcar charges.... I hate europcar, avoid this company by any means. poor poor poor… Read Full Review

After a nine-hour flight, we arrived at Europcar in Rome to a crowd of people and were told by others in the crowd to take a number and that the system had broken down. “Not worthy of your Busines”

Poor Customer Service. Poor Corporate Dispute resolution. I believe they intentional with hold information so that they can tack on additional charges and fees. Then on the day they inform you of these additional charges, they tell you can contact them to dispute the charges, but turns out they have already charged your Credit Card. I was accused for not returning the car with full tank when I just filled it up before I returned. They took 3 weeks to come back to me for the deduction on my debit card. Slow in responding and I had to chase for a reply and only issue an invoice after almost a month of returning the car. most of all, the fuel charges was really ridicules as I am 100% sure and certain it was full. but they just charged without notifying me at all. nonsense!… Read Full Review

“Family with children stuck in highway for 5hours”

We rented a Volkswagen 7 seater but was advised to rent a FIAT 7 seater upon arrival cos it's more spacious. We paid extra GBP360 and waited an hour for the FIAT to arrive. The car broke down within an hour on highway A40. After many calls to Europcar breakdown division to inform them that the gearbox is not working, they put us through to FIAT service team.
