Two suitcases, one brand new, never used, locks (combination) broken. Suitcases manufactured in India. Poor quality, waste of money luggage. Their company will be out of business Soon if they keep producing such a bad finish to their equipment. I am aircrew and have in all my years flying came across such an appalling product. Save your money and avoid this company completely! (read more)

I bought 2 carlton bags in Singapore about 1.5 years ago. Both spoilt. The outside covering (Nylon cloth) coming off loose. Probably defective pasting. Guess it is a manufacturing defect. The shop sent me to their service centre. Service says their worker is on leave and they would not even register my complaint until the worker returns and they would also not replace the bags. I think I have no choice but to buy new bags as I ahve to travel. Is this what you pay premium price for? Even the... (read more)

We brought 2 Carlton strada cases about 4 years ago. We only use them once a year and after our holiday last year (3 uses)on one of them the stitching came undone at the bottom near the wheels in the corner and it came apart causing the side at the bottom to drop down level with the wheels, thus scrapping on the floor. I contacted Carlton. They asked me to take a photo and send it to them. I did this and they said that their was a scuff mark. Which there is but it is tiny and was caused by... (read more)

I must have had my bright red Carlton Airtec for at least 15 years. It has been with me all over the world 500,000 miles plus and 100 trips.(and lost a few times as well!) In that time,my travelling companions have had quite a few new suitcases because wheels fall off or the zip breaks or it gets ripped. Not my Carlton Airtec! Everyone I travel with knows my red suitcase! My trusty Carlton has survived all that travel, but the wheels have worn down so much, the wheel casing is hitting the... (read more)

The handle and seam broke after 3 uses so I contacted Carlton. They asked me for details and photos which I promptly sent. They then asked me to post the bag to them at my expense. Now they are sending it back un-fixed! Very poor service. Warranty is meaningless. I would never buy Carlton products again. (read more)

After I posted this, I emailed Carlton this review and they emailed back to say that they would replace my bag. I received my new bag a few days later.

The wheels came away from the case of my 72 cm Carlton Titanium suitcase the very first time I used it. Carlton refuses to honour its guarantee, claiming airline damage. (read more)

I worked on European touring coaches for 15 years and chose a Carlton Airtec suitcase by 'shopping' looking at the suitcases my passengers brought on board. During my time travelling on average 7 days a week, 48 weeks a year, with the suitcase being thrown in and out of a luggage hold almost every day, I got through 2 suitcases (and 6 years after changing career, I still use my second for holidays) I love these cases because: They have a hard shell, but are not too heavy compared to some... thought i splurged unnecessarily when i got for myself one of those cabin size bags with a trolley you see everyone carrying these days.
damages - 170 quids. but very impressive looking - like it has a zipper across the length of the inside compartment where you can put your clothes inside, zip it and the rest of the bag becomes like a office bag - with space for laptop, files, documents etc etc... really handy.
And as i used it - found that the wheels were sooo smooth, the trolley dint get...

Purchased a Carlton Play 3-Piece Set recently. First time we used it several of the zipper pulls and inside tie-downs broke. Set was a complete disappointment. We've been "dealing" with Carlton since May and have not had a satisfactory resolution yet. I would absolutely not recomend this to anyone. (read more)

Loved my Carlton suitcase - bought a silver Eclipse case- first 4 wheel case I have had. It was so light, looked good and the 4 wheel factor I loved as so easy to move. It has a great design with lots of room. Also I paid £115 which was reasonable as the alternatives from others cost at least £170. The customer service in the shop was impressive.
They actually had a few cool cases which are well priced so impressed with this brand.

What I appreciate is the shape and texture which attracted a lot of admiring glares while in Heathrow. Since then I have started using Carlton Eclipse only while on business trips. (read more)

Your experience is exactly similar to mine. I purchased the bag in India in October, 2011. By January, Seams on Handle & various other parts as well as the Zips gave way. Since service centre address is not given on Warranty Card, so it will be many days till I am able to use the bag again.Try forwarding your experience on a social networking site, so that people don't buy Carlton products.
