    We made a last minute booking to Portugal, and got the Plaza Real Apartments in Praia da Rocha as allocation on arrival. Myself and my partner ended up with an 'apartmentos' for 6 people. It was beautiful. Really big, with a large hallway and a fair size kitchen, toilet, and large storage cupboard. A massive lounge with table and chairs, double sofa bed, TV, and chairs etc, and two patio doors leading to a balcony (very nice). There was also a marble staircase leading upstairs to 2 generously sized double bedrooms, and a massive bathroom with bath, shower, bidet, WC, two sinks, and patio doors from the bedrooms with stand only balconies... Really nice!! The pool was lovely, and good to relax by during daytime. The downstairs main bar had a good selection of food and drinks, but the prices of some of the drinks (especially cans of pop at 2 euros) was a little pricey.

    The phones in the hotel room are expensive to use, and the nearest phone box, which was on the main road was broken.

    You can walk into the main strip, and the beaches are not too bad at all. The way to the sea is to walk down the main road (past strip clubs)! But opposite the entrance to the Plaza Real is what we called "Sandy Lane". It's actually a gravel path through disused land, but cuts the journey in half. It is fine to use, but as with anything off the beaten track... be careful!! By the last day the walk was getting tiring, but that may have been the effects of alcohol and heat!!

    Overall, Lovely excellent apartment... Stunning beaches... Restaurants on main drag really good... Food fantastic!! Lovely sun, hot but not unbearable... Perfect!

    Overall the quality of Plaza Real apartments makes up for the location. Very much a family resort, one will find the pool is usually full of children as is the games area, not really a place I would recommend to couples or young adults/teenagers.

    The Plaza Real Apartments are Friendly the staff are really funny. The rooms are Clean and were very big. There was a kitchen, living room and bedroom. It is in a good location only 5 min walk to centre. Excellent food.
