“COMPLETE UTTER SHAMBLES”

I can't even give this no stars as 1 star is being to generous. I don't think they are worthy of 1. I took out a phone and broadband package back in the start of 2012 when I moved into my first brand new property where BT was the only provider I could go with in the area at the time. I took out an 18 month contract and also added BT Sport HD to my package which was free for the first year when it came out. Title says it all. I lost phone and broadband service for 8 weeks and after 3 engineer visits it was finally fixed. Calling BT to presumably get refunded the £66 paid over this period where they failed to supply my service I was told under their policy all they could give was £15.88! Plain and simple theft. Also after nearly 18 months with BT, they still can't fix a fault from day one where dialling 150 gets me "welcome to SKY"! And not BT customer services. Steer well clear! My in-laws phone line went down on 16th September and it was duly reported to BT faults. Ever since then, trying to get answers out of BT is impossible. I've been trying for last week to get through to BT fault reporting both on the telephone and via their "chat" service to get an update on the line repair. Update - got through on telephone to BT fault reporting who said it will be another week before repairs are complete and line fully operational again.

Also got through to chat service on BT website who told me line would be up and working by midnight tonight.

So there you go, BT must be liars as they both cannot be correct.

Received a call today from the complaints dept. who told me that fault will not be fixed this week as they are now waiting for permission from the local council to dig up the road. No definite date is now given as to why two 80 year old pensioners have to do without a telephone line in the 21st century

They also told me that my father in law cannot claim compensation for this episode until repairs are carried out. They also refused to transfer incoming calls to his mobile as I requested as I am not the account holder. They hide behind the Data Protection act yet they have all his details.

BT, you are a bloody disgrace to your customers. Can you change the title of your TOTALLT INEPT NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE BT Customer Care dept. to BT DONT CARE?

Do BT ever read any of these complaints?

Congratulations BT, your inability to provide a working phone line almost cost my mother in law her life last night. My father in law had to go and ask a neighbour to call an ambulance as my mother in law was having a stroke and has now been hospitalised.

If my in laws had a working phone line, the ambulance call would have been made much quicker resulting in the paramedics arriving sooner.

You are a bunch of heartless bar stewards who are totally incompetent and inept at providing a working service.

I have been with BT for many years and up until the past 2 years everything has been fine, now however they are adding on extra,s and charging for these EVEN if you only enquire about something you will find the cost of it added on to your bill as they will take it as an order. “Never Ever Again!”

I have had such a terrible experience with BT that I am thinking of legal action. These sharks are legal and I can't believe they can carry on making people miserable. I signed up in December last year 2013, and a couple months later I was disconnected. “Appalling way to treat a customer.”

I recently ordered BT internet and as I didn't have a phone line they were installing one for me too. I then choose a day for this to be installed - Friday 22nd August with a 1pm to 6pm slot. I took the afternoon off work that day and the engineer turned up within the slot. After about 30 minutes he knocked my door again and told me he was unable to do the job and would send one of his colleagues round later. I waited in all afternoon and no one turned up. Just to add further to this, BT rang me the following day asking why I had cancelled my order. After I explained the situation they told me I may be able to claim compensation for my loss of wages and would I be interested in going ahead with the deal.
I told them I needed to chat with my wife who at the time was away on business and wouldn't be back until Sunday evening. They arranged to ring me on the Monday (today) at 4pm to ask what my decision was. Its now 5:30pm and I haven't heard off them. Think I'll give them a miss.

Bt is a awful service. They charge for disconnection even when your 12 month contract has finished. Then they lie about a phone call you make to them. Dealing with BT is like dealing with truculent idiots. Even their website is obstructive. Indian call centre staff promise to do stuff but it never happens. For exampe I am required by law to submit VAT invoices to HMRC. Unfortunately you cannot obtain VAT invoices on their website so it advises you to call their so called help lines. 5 times I called, 5 times they have said they would provide VAT invoices - but I'm still waiting. The customer service at BT is the worst I have ever experienced, probably for any product ever. The online chat staff are rude, painfully slow and don't answer the questions asked. “Been Waiting for over 3 weeks for our broadband!”

We changed from Talk Talk to BT as we were moving and we were able to get the infinity broadband from BT. Poor been waiting over 30 days for a broadband service and still waiting, happy to sign you up but are reluctant to give any reliable or timely service in setting up the service by fixing evident faults.
