Good Points: An all in one account is the only thing I can describe about this provider.
Bad Points: High prices, poor service, poor customer service, slow broadband speed, unresponsiveness
General comments: BT charges quarterly, and they charge you in advance. If you are late paying for the service that you have not even received yet, you will get charges. I was charged GBP32.00 for paying my bill late by 8 days. I am so mad because this is actually for April, May, and June, a time that has not arrived yet!
My advice is stay away from the BT Total Broadband package, as there are many other providers

I rang BT to change line rental provider to Primus. BT changed our phone number! After several letters from BT saying we were going, please come back to us and we were staying, thank you for staying etc., nothing happened. Then after I called to find out what was going on they cut us off! Then they reinstated us but with a dreadful line. Primus are at their wits end too. Hopefully I will be with Primus for both calls and rental tomorrow but I've heard nothing from BT about this though so who kno ...

It is a pity there is no mines points I could place for bad services. I have been waiting over 2 and a half months to get transfered to BT. I am disappointed and not recommending!!!!!
AVOID British Telecom, that is all I can recommend. I have paid deposit of 300GBP on 23rd February and still not transfered as of 28th April.

Only take it if you don't have any other option, like it's in my case. Had to set up an account 2 years ago and it took me 2 months and "unlimited" phone calls from my mobile to set it up. I'm setting up a new one in my new home and it' already been a month since the whole "riot" started. I still don't know when I will have a phone line.

I foolishly tried to switch back to BT in Aug 2007.
My phone line had been with BT previously so should be no problem.
1. They sent an engineer who had nothing to do and charged me £124.99.
2. They then billed me for new imaginary number although I was still using old one.
3. Took 2 months to actually get account switched.
4. Despite paying by direct debit - phone cut off - no outgoing calls. BT call this restricted. Extreme problems getting bill paid. 2 complaint letters and report t ...

Had a line which was working fine before trying to switch over to BT. Waited over 3 weeks with numorous calls to the service department and still have a dead line. No calls, no internet, no help, nothing.
Gave up in the end, now looking for someone else.

I was going to change back to BT for My line rental and calls, until they told me I had to change my number, I told them to forget it And I would stay With supplier I am with now.I had a phone call from my phone company to say that BT were taking over my line on 9th April. when I phoned BT I was passed from one person then after speaking to five different people for whatever reason my line went dead, and my problem was not dealt with. So I thought I would e-mail them instead, still waiting for a ...

Don't know where to start really. BT over-charged us £300 for our residential landline then when I spoke to them they admitted they'd over charged and would do a refund to our bank account. The BT chap I spoke to also advised me I could get our bank to pull the money back under the Direct Debit agreement. Couple of weeks later at the agreed refund data no sign of refund so I phoned BT. They offered me a refund but I said not to worry I'd get my bank to pull back the money. I also requeste ...

Oon phone with BT for nearly 3 hours trying to get through to somebody who could tell me why they had taken just short of £100 out my account even though i had cancelled my contract with them for phone and broadband and gone to another provider. I ask to be put through to a manager and just doesn't happen. I am seriously annoyed with bt. I will never go back to them.

If money doesn't matter then BT is alright. Internet speed is good, no prob in the phone , had a problem once in last 12 months but it was solved after i made complaint twice, a bit expensive in comparison to others like talk talk & tiscali but otherwise its ok.

After spending 5 days on and off the phone to BT (more on), to try and get all my services put back on i had to report them to 'offcom'.
BT cut off all my services without informing me and told me there was a '£450 debt on the account - there was no dept i have always paid my bill on time. I had to call BT from my mobile and they refused to call me back even though i explained to them they had cut my land line off - so this cost me a fortune. After losing count of the departments i got pa ...

I am locked into an 18 month contract with BT or else i would move fortwith to another company. Worst customer service ever had to wait 42 mins having been diverted to 4 different departments and had to pay for the privedge, you would think being a telephone company they would ensure customers were not charged for calling on behalf of an error on BT's part.

As an existing BT Customer I am getting increasingly annoyed by the devious pricing policy all wrapped up in virtually incomprehensible leaflets that advertise reductions, but are in fact price hikes.

I ordered BT Broadband at around 1 o'clock PM. I forgot to ask when the line would be active so called back (now as an existing customer) to find out when it would be. After 1 hour on hold and transfers from one dept to the next, I decided to cancel my order. I managed to do this by 6PM that evening. Why do we in Britain accept this kind of service? This company should not be in business. It is our market leader yet they can't even provide enough resource to handle customer calls. As a result of ...

They give discount for paying via Direct Debit. They are slow at fixing faults and you can never get through on the phone lines and if you do you have waited for over an hour. They continually fail to take the Direct Debit so have to write to you to change the date. Their prices are high compared to other companies. I have found their customer service to be poor and you have to wait days and sometimes even weeks for an engineer to fix the line if their is a fault. Their bills are hard to read an ...

Speedy installation of phone line when told BT it was urgent and required it quick. Waiting 40 mins (and being charged) to wait for Customer Services then to be put through to several depts, dont think customers should be made to pay to call for BT faults. Would only try and communicate through email to BT due to Customer Services being so hard to reach for simple tasks.

5 days since I rang bt to start my line rental and they are already messing me about. They told me it would take 2 days for my new phone number to become active. It has been 7, after waiting ages to get through the electronic phone system I got transferred to a different number and they couldnt tell me how long it will take but refused to let me cancel (Im pretty sure they have to as they havent sent me anything yet)

When I had problems in paying an unexpectedly large bill that I had received BT managed to go that extra mile to sort out a payment plan that was fair, and I had soon paid off my rather large bill.
Highly rated due to the help and advice given to me when I was in trouble with payments

Every time I call BT is at least 20 min of waiting time. They ask me the phone number twice, my name another two for security purposes. Once you're done with interrogation, you ask for help and they transfer you to someone else.
They promised to get me the phone working in 10 freaking business days. I call them today to find out why the line is not working and they tell me that it is not going to be ready and it is going to take another 5 days.
