Appalling customer service. Please be aware that if you buy a BT product you are unlikely to be supported if you need assistance. You may find it relatively easy to set up a service, but try moving & cancelling a line! We were pushed from one operative to another and although the cancellation was confirmed verbally, a new bill has just arrived and there is no cancellation in place. If you ask an awkward question you are cut off and you should be aware that the majority of contact seems to be with an Indian call centre and their English is not always good.

If you are thinking of going to BT DON'T! Seriously, all I asked for was a new line and broadband to be installed at my house. 4 weeks and 3 engineers (thinking they where here to do something else) later... NO phone line and NO
Broadband. Although, wait for it... I got charged for it.

    3 words.

    JUST DON'T BOTHER.

Wish I'd known just how bad they were before I made the order and wasted nearly seven days of my life on this.

I moved to BT in January 2009. Was quoted 17.50 for unlimted calls to national lines, 8 Meg Broadband with unlimited usage and free 2nd broadband line and phone. At the time it was cheaper than anywhere else so I jumped at the offer as would anyone in times where saving money is essential.

Everything was as promised, no disruption with the phone line or the broadband and it all took place within three weeks as promised to me by the excellent salesman on the line who spoke clearly.

    The broadban ...

All I wanted was broadband at home. Just regular broadband. Nothing fancy. So I tried BT. Big mistake. Ignorant & dishonest telephone staff, refusal to honour agreements and simple services not carried out. I'm talking about basic stuff here. As a result I still don't have any broadband service, and now I'm so anoyed that I'm telling the world.

There are plenty of smaller providers out there who actually want customers, rather than BT's approach.

DO NOT USE BT IF YOU WANT A HAPPY LIFE.

I signed up with BT and was told i would have to wait 30 days for a phone line, i paid my £50 deposit and waited.....
3 months later and still no phone line, after ringing up a few tiems i came to the conclusion they are all incompetent. I cancelled my order and went with talktalk instead and no problems at all!

If you are thinking of signing up with BT dont bother, just go elsewhere.

So far I have 17 months of appalling 'service' from BT. In a nutshell I bought a combined phone & broadband package from them in April last year. Unbeknown to me they failed to take over my phone line culminating in my old provider, Tiscali demanding money from me but not telling me what it was for. I have been harassed by phone calls from a rottweiller like BT representative, my phone line has been restricted for nearly a year. As part of the package I was promised £40 cash back, whi ...

One star is even too high for BT.

From my time in London, BT has been more problem than useful. Just seeing that they are spending their money buying into the American market shows they have no real concern for their UK customer base - I would not even be surprised if they think we here in the UK are all just one big 'cash cow' for them.

    Problems I have had:
    - phone line took several months to setup
    - broadband never was setup. After also several months went with Sky who set it up that af ...

BT have increased our monthly DD and refuse to explain or justify the bill.
When we call their customer sevices number we get connected to Dheli where a very pleasant operative will tell you the numbers involved but cannot discuss a breakdown of the charges they are making. The bottom line is pay the bill, don't question it...or we'll cut you off.
Now looking for a new provider.
I'd have liked to been made aware that no-one at BT is available to discuss any queries to my bill.

Well I would like to start by informing you that I pay for the option 3 with 8mb/s which clearly states "Unlimited" access and download. As I use the internet very regularly on many levels, during 1 intense month of usage from my part, as I came back from work found that my internet was crippled, so ran a speed test at http://www.speedtest.net/ (very accurate) and found that the top speed I could reach was 56kb/s, so I called the service and I was told I overused the internet this month so they ...

BT (I have the credit card statement to prove it)charged me twice for my BT line rental in one month. I wrote and asked for a refund plus interest on the amount, plus £120 for the one hour I had to take out of my working day to deal with their incompetence and discover a telephone number on their website that actually connected to a living being. I eventually received a refund - no apology - and nothing else.
BT's incompetence beggars belief. They charged me over £700 to install a Br ...

I have given up with BT, The overseas contact center cannot cope or help and read from a script. 32 hours to get my Bt POP mail working, they blamed my Outlook, 3 hours to try to get someone who could help with my accounts. THere is no central complaints team. This has all changed in the last 8 months. I am moving my service as BT wastes too much time.

Never Never Never again will I use BT. I have been a BT customer for ten years or more, but enough is enough. They just took £150 direct debit from my account in error. I was told by BT that is was a technical error at there end. The refund will take uo ot 8 days. prior to this managed to screw up my order ofr broadband and a phone line, what should have taken 4 days took over three weeks. As soon as I can I will be cancelling my BT account(s). Avoid them at all costs.

In February this year we took a telephone line and internet with BT. We have free evening and weekend calls with this package.

Since then we have had numerous problems. This first being that we were charged for telephone calls and line rental from the house my boyfriend previously lived in. The account for this house was cancelled and a new one set up for our address. We contacted BT and were eventually credited for this.

We have an ongoing problem receiving bills. We rarely get a bill ...

oh Bt bt bt- unbelievable how a company like this still continues to operate in this day and age. We didn't have too many problems in the beginning apart from the extortionate 'Hidden' costs which were so alarming that I Immediatly tried to change providers.was told we had to stay for at least 12 months.Grinned and bared it although the 'Premium' broadband sevice is snail slow and the wireless hub only works when it feels like it. In a moment of madness, we decided to switch to BT from virgin wh ...

BT is the worse company I have ever dealt with. After I made a landline to get internet access in my house I called BT and found out that "i live too far and internet connection cannot be set up". Ridiculous. Moreover, I ordered a broadband equipment that I never recieved. When I called them back it didn't help at all. Customer service is extremely poor and all they can do there is just say "i really apoplogize". None of my problems was sold.I would never use it again.

Shocking customer service, moved home and asked to transfer my number, BT totally mucked it up three times and caused a months delay to my line getting installed and broadband was delayed 2 weeks after that.
