Bought this 4 horsepower lawn mower 19 years ago, still works great. First pull Tecumseh Yard Works start every time. I guess the new ones aren't like they used to be.

Decent little mower, except for the Yardworks (and Canadian Tire) service, and the damnable rechargeable battery. Used it twice last summer, then shelved it for the winter, taking care to bring the battery indoors. Once spring had finally sprung, charged the battery up (and was pleased when the green light came on nearly immediately), took it outside and... nothing. My own folly for not having read or remembered the manual, but I'm to charge the battery monthly during the six or seven months it ...

I bought a yardworks 17 hp riding mower 2 yrs ago at Canadian Tire. It usally works well but for some reason the blades bend at the slightest impact with anything. This really isn't too much of a problem but every time I go to buy a replacement blade they are out of stock or on back order. Are these blades that fragile and why are they always out of stock.

I got a Yardworks 4 in 1 Yard machine from Canadian Tire. I thought a reel mower is supposed to do a superiort cut. I was not impressed with the way it mowed from the start and halve way through the yard on the first mow it quit.
This is the worst piece of equipment I have ever had.
I will not recommend it to anybody.
    $238 down the drain.

I have both a 20hp yardworks lawnmower and tractor. I've owned the lawnmower for over 5 years and the tractor for two. Other than routine maintenance they both start like a charm each time. Three pumps to prime the mower and away you go. May bog occassionally when I go more than a week cutting the lawn, but if your expecting a mower to cut through two feet high grass maybe it's time to invest in some farm equipment instead.

The handle issue: It is a two-part affair joined by a single butterfly-type screw on each side, with a couple of plastic blocks, the inner surfaces of which are serrated and supposed to interlock and stabilize the joint in one of three positions. This system doesn't work! Any attempt to push the mower up anything but the slightest gradient causes the handle to 'break' at the joint and assume a completely different angle. I've tried applying thumb-bruising torsion to these screws with all my stre ...

I have a Yard Works rechargeable lawn mower. It worked ok the summer I bought it. This spring it barely held a charge. I mean for less than 10 minutes. I took it back to Canadian Tire.

Will not buy mechanical products from Canadian Tire where I bought one of these Tecumseh Yard Works lawn mowers.
Tried dealing with yard Works but little result so will not buy Yard Works products no more!

As much as I love Canadian Tire, I will never buy another Tecumseh Yard Works product of any kind. I bought a rake - the handle fell off, cordless lawn mower - runs out of power before I've finished my tiny lawn, weed trimmer - literally fell apart while I was using it, various small garden tools - all fell apart or bent. I realize that "you get what you pay for", but these products are simply sub-standard: poorly engineered and inferior quality.

After the winter (I did use fuel stabilizer), I topped it up with fresh fuel today and it started and ran very well, filling 3 bags of clippings. Then I ran over an ants nest, throwing up a cloud of dust. It dropped to idle speed and stayed there. I can start it and it will run very smooth, but at idle speed only. There is no throttle adjustment so it is pretty much useless. I guess I am going to find out how good hat 4 year warranty is.

I don't think Yard works is worth the metal its made of. I hope I get thirty bucks when I take it to the salvage yard. We bought the mower last fall and thought that now we had something good that would last us at least ten years or so but instead Ive got this green 350.00 dollar piece of garbage that wont run. The problem with a site like this is you don't find it until you've spent the money and got the run around from canadian tire about the warranty. We phoned the store and the young lady be ...

I bought at a Canadian Tire a lawn mower model: Tecumseh Yard Works 60-1620-4.
Every time i stop it to fill it with gas, i have to wait like 4 hours to make it start again or it simply wont start up!

i used it for 2 summers only so far and now for this year, i actually CANT make it start at all. I took it to a repair guy and he told me I should buy a new good one (which means not yard works) instead of taking this to repair every time it will need, cause it would be less expensive! ...

I purchased a Tecomseth lawnworks lawn mower after Canadian Tire repaired it from someone else. According to the sales guy it too had an engine seize but assured me it was completely repaired. It has worked floorlessly till this past month. I ran out of gas.I put some in Sunday checked the oil and added about two tablespoons full.First i had a devils own job to get it to fire up. When it finally did. It died almost immediately. Now it starts but will not run!. I sure wish i had read these comments ...

I purchased a yard works mower from Canadian Tire, we prep it with gas and oil and used it once. The second time I went to use it I got 1 length of the yard and it seized up. I took it back to Canadian Tire and after getting the run around and being told that I DID NOT put oil in it, they sent it to the yard works "guy" and he said the same thing. I know I physically put the oil in and some how I did not. I week old and now I have a $300.00 lawn mower that NO ONE will replace or refund my money. ...

I got a Yard Works 24 Cordless Lawn Mover (60-1746-6) from Canadian Tire about two years ago. It worked well for my small yard. However, it stopped working whilst cutting the grass a few days ago - no signal showed anything was wrong, no smoke, no smell, the motor just stopped. The manual is too simple - just told you "Put the battery on charge; Replace motor/blade control switch" if mower not starting. The battery was fully charged (the lights indicated that), and the switch was good (I opened ...

I bought it at 5:30pm and returned it at 8:00pm on the same day. Heavy starter noise when it wasn't clicking, and it did not want to change speed when it would change heavy noise from differential. When I returned to the store, they said this is all normal. Thank God for the money back guarantee, but I feel sorry for the next person they sell it to. I also noticed someone else's name in the user manual, so I guess I was not the first person to return it. I am now going to buy Craftsman, as they ...

The Tecumseh Yard Works l;awn mower does not cut grass. Returned to Canadian Tire the day after I bought it. They would not take it back. Company policy...blah blah.
I stood at the returns desk for 30 minutes while they served everyone in line behind me.

I have shopped at Canadian Tire for 30 years, and now I will no longer go into their stores. Keep up those carved in stone policies and when business turns bad...well too bad.

I received the Tecumseh Yard Works lawn mower as a house warming gift and it works great. It starts every time with just a little priming of the gas and runs well until completely dry of gas. I have a 65'x 130' lot and it will do both front and back on less than 1 tank of gas. I have found the Yard Works mower to provide an excellent cut. It has adjustable wheel heights and can mulch or side discharge. However, the piece on the back that stands the grass up after cutting seemed to be a little lon ...

We stored it indoors over the winter, and still had to replace the charger in the spring. In fact, Canadian Tire replaced the whole mower. Then this spring, we had the same problem, and after using it about 5 times it will no longer charge. We are told by a service guy that at this point just throw it out - he has seen lots of this problem!

The Tecumesh Yard Works lawn mower is an expensive mistake. I also noticed that Canadian Tire uses disappearing ink on their receipts - after a couple of ...
