Good Points: The scanner produces excellent quality scans with colour slides and photos. The bundled Photoshop Elements is a great general photo editing program.
Bad Points: There is a bad bug with the scanning software with colour slides. When thumbnails are viewed, it may not display the slides correctly.
General comments: The Canon CanoScan 9900F scanners driver does not seem to be able to separate the individual slides when attempting to scan colour slides. The thumbnails view is the best way to scan an number of different slides and it does not work properly. Occasionally I could get it to work by selecting an area, but it was erratic. As this problem has been mentioned by others, why doesn't Canon do something about it? I spent 4 hours uninstalling and cleaning up everything to reduce problems, but it had no effect. It certainly is not my machine with 1 gig of ram, XP and 2 gig P4.
