Good Points: Easy to get through on the phone
Bad Points: Did not keep their promise to give me a better rate
General comments: As a previous customer with an excellent record, I never missed a payment. When I paid off my account, they were full of promises to get more business. When I phoned to get another loan, they charged me a HIGHER rate of 31 per cent APR. Well they have lost out cos I went to my bank and got a loan for 8.9 per cent APR.
Bad luck BCT I won't be using you again, you just lost a customer.

British credit trust is number one in my book, i will always recommend them to all my friends. I am still impressed an the way they dealt with me, this company is genuine. Respect to you guys, you are all wonderful people

I've been a customer with British credit trust for the last 4 years refused car finance as i live in Northern Ireland think this is a total disgrace as they don't even oblige there existing customers. Not a company I would highly recommend

A monthly payment come out due on a weekend, myself unaware charges fell on weekend come out early the friday before. So when they tried to take it my wages wernt there to meet it leaving me with bank charges of £40 and two letters from the British credit trust at £25 each. Giving me a totall £90 charges which had to me paid. Disapointed i would not advise anyone to use this service and im surprised at the amount of complaints im not the only one!!!

British Credit Trust are friendly and helpfully at first but watch out that can soon change , missed one payment so they sent people round with a pay up now or we take goods.

Appalling service and worst customer services in the country. We fell behind on payments due to loss of work but still paid what we could. My partner was bullied into setting up a direct debit she did not want. Its about time the FSA investigated them!

I have never had a problem with British credit trust and their team. When I couldnt make a payment on a couple of occasions I phoned them and they were very helpful, I have been with them for nearly four years and have never spoken to a rude operator.
On the whole I would recommend them to anyone, if fact I'm looking to use them again very soon.

Had no hassles with British Credit Trust as I paid regular and never missed a payment. They returned the favour by not bothering to mark up my credit record with the fact that I had paid off my car in FULL and instead left me with a false debt of £1569 which stopped me getting credit elsewhere.

Well British Credit Trust are totally useless. I fell behind with payments due to unemployment and a recent bereavement. Full payment of the arrears, plus the balance of the account was promised by me (backed up with documentary evidence). They promptly terminated my agreement adding over £300 of costs - and requesting, no, demanding my vehicle to be returned. I have paid over £9000 off the agreement.

I have been with British Credit Trust for over 2 years. I had one late payment in January 2007, only by 1 day. I rang up and explained that we had just come off holiday and the payment machines in the bank were not working. The woman on the other end of the phone said "well, you should make sure the payment is there". Like it was my fault the banks machine had broken. I used BCT to buy my Peugeot 206. They took over two weeks to sort all the paperwork out, and said they were short staffed. After two weeks of me complaining, they admitted losing my paperwork and asked me to submit it again. When they eventually sorted it, they said my APR was only 15%, but when I got the paperwork it said 29.9%. So I called British Credit Trust, and they were very rude and unhelpful.

The British Credit Trust have always been extremely helpful, and I have never had any issues. Just this month I had a mix up with my bank which led to them cancelling my direct debit to BCT. I received a letter stating that my payment had been missed and that I had not been charged for this letter as a gesture, but any future letters would cost me £25. I wanted to change my car, so I asked them for an update on the amount I could borrow; bearing in mind that my old car would be used for a deposit. We chose a car, but we were told that the car was out of our price range, and then we found something within our budget.

We had a really bad month one month, and we offered to make a full payment plus late fees etc two weeks after they were due, and British Credit Trust weren't interested. I think it's absolutely ridiculous. At least we didn't ignore the debt, and we called and arranged a repayment date within the same month, as they ask you to do on their website. The British Credit Trust offer VERY poor customer service. They make money by sending letters out at £25.00 a time. They don't listen when you have problems, and once signed with them, they lose interest.

The staff at British Credit Trust are very helpful. Whether you want to change your payment details or get extra info from staff, I have found the customer service is incredible.
Interest is disgusting! However, British Credit Trust gave me credit when no one else would, so I can't really complain, and I would still recommend them. They have been good up until now.

The British Credit Card Trust have always been great to me. They have taken my APR right down now. I can just call up after having a car for 6 months to a year and change the car without a fuss. The products are always explained, and so are the charges. If you keep up your repayments you do not have any hassle. I will always use this company for the respect they have given me, and for helping me out when others didn't. They are always polite, fast and friendly.

I used the British Credit Trust For nearly 2 months, not years! I needed to borrow £8,000 for a car from Car Craft, so like a fool I did! When I paid back in full (remember £8,000 in less than 2 months) they charged me nearly £600 in credit charges, so be very careful when dealing with these types of companies.
