Verrrrry slow immigration process on arrival. Baggage seems to get taken one bag at a time from the plane and put on a 50 year old donkey to be brought to the terminal. The same donkey then goes back to pick up the next bag and so it goes on until some time (much) later the last bag as found its way onto the carousel. The wait for baggage is incredibly sloooooooooow this can be the only logical explanation as any modern system could not possibly be this slooooooooooow. On departure your passport and boarding card are checked and then about 3 metres behind this (and in plain sight) is another guy who stops everyone and does exactly the same thing - whattf is that all about?

One of the filthiest and you would stare at the airport and feel which idiot would have created such a marvel which does to cater to any passenger amenities. There are only 20 gates for entire airport and one restroom for domestic and international.
Shops are insufficient nor they can be added!!!. What you want to eat is not there, and what u don't want seem to make place, like shirts etc.,
Above all, the airport stinks and lot of mosquitoes to give you company. Airline staff are rude and not to mention the late and cancellation which puts you off

Bnagalore Airport is the worstest in the entire Galaxy, I have travelled many places across other contries and many domestic places as well... but Bangalore Airport is really a mess, I feel as if I am standing in front of a big government unconstructed building, more over the security is a big flop.

Please, install the CCTV to monitor the passenger belongings & avoid misplacements & assist travelers to carry their belongings safely.

The new look of the airport is fantastic compared to the older one. I was so happy to see people (local and foreigners) taking photos of areas within and outside the airport. There are fewer interruptions to those who want to travel and it creates a great first impression when you land in Bangalore. I have heard Hyderabad is better but I am yet to visit the place. Cheerios BIAL!

They need to make more arrangements and keep the passengers updated about how to commute to the new airport

I think people who say it is the worst need to see other things in India...Definitely it is not good one...but it is definitely manageable.

This is THE airport from hell. I have used the domestic as well as the international terminal several times, and it is just a nightmare. Long lines everywhere, coupled with bad and slow service. Bangalore International Airport is the quickest way to turn visitors away from India.

Bangalore International Airport is pretty close to hell. Horrible toilets. No food, no shops. Staffs are like enjoying your situation to travel via their airport. Avoid it at all costs. It is a complete NO for transit.

I recently traveled with my family on an Bangalore International flight. Compared to any other airport in the world this one has to be rated the worst. At the departure area the flight was delayed. The kids wanted chips and chocolates, none of these were available. We had to resort to stale sandwiches by Cafe Coffee day..and there was no other choice. On our return my wife used the bathroom in the arrival area. It was disgusting.

IT IS QUITE OBVIOUS THAT WE INDIANS HAVE A HUGE PROBLEM WITH CLEANLINESS. FROM THE FILTHY STREETS TO SHOCKINGLY DIRTY TOILETS AT AIRPORTS TO GOVERNMENT OWNED 5-STAR HOTELS THAT STINK OF URINE. IT IS TIME TO INCLUDE A MINISTRY OF CLEANLINESS AT THE FEDEARAL LEVEL TO ENFORCE THE SAME. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE OF HOUSEKEEPING AT PRIVATE 5-STAR HOTELS BE RETAINED BY THE CENTRAL AND STATE GOVERNMENTS TO REMEDY THIS HUGE EMBARRASMENT TO THE COUNTRY. SOMETHING ABOUT OUR "CULTURE" THATS CAUSING THE PROBLEM.

I totally agree. Bangalore airport is the pits! There are constant flight cancellations. The facilities to handle customer frustrations are non exisitant. You are stuck for hours in the security section without anything to eat or drink. You have a shirt store and a jewelry store and NOTHING else. Tell me what good is this if you have a flight delay and nothing to eat or drink. The airline staff dont give a damn.

I agree, Bangalore airport is is the worst airport on the planet. I travel a lot in India and the rest of the world, and this has to be the worst airport. I caught an early morning flight. I had no breakfast. There was nothing available!!! Not even a coffee.
It is madness having shirt counters, toy shops and book stores, but nothing that is available to drink and eat at the time you want it.
The Deccan Air flights are constantly cancelled, leaving screaming customers. There is no compensation given for having waited 4 hours for a flight. I was not even told "hey sorry have a coffee on us"!!
The toilets stink. There is no loo paper, no changing room facilities for babies. There is NOTHING!!! Just a mineral water tap!!

The Bangalore International airport is probably the worst airport in the entire universe. Too small, congested, unprofessional people, pathetic baggage carousal, no elevators. You name a problem, you will find it.

Bangalore has a new International Airport effective May 2008 which is like any other new international airport. Only think is that it does not have any transit hotel in the airport premises till 2010. The drive into town is 1 to 2 hrs depending on traffic/time. Some budget resorts serve as Transit Hotels near the Bengaluru International Airport for now.
