    Good Points: Location.


    Bad Points: You have to pay to drop off and pick up. BHX charge to simply let down outside and far more to pick up. How is anyone picking you up supposed to know exactly just when you will land and clear baggage claim and customs.


    General comments: BHX is similar to most other regional airports I guess but has bad points which mean I for one will try and chose elsewhere to fly from next time. I refuse to pay to be dropped off outside the door. OK to charge for say a weeks parking but even that at £50 is a joke but to have to pay when being collected, and if the flight or BHX delays you then that charge is higher for the waiting lift. Food outlets inside high priced and poor quality

    I have a very bad experience EVERY TIME i visit to Birmingham International Airport. Not about the facilities but the staffs over there are not polite and didn't really give the proper manners to foreign people. My dad come to visiting here and obviously he can't said proper English, what they do is they always not giving thier patient to help him but keep on showing thier attitube to us eventhough we have been speak politely to them.     I think Birmingham airport is ok, I don't think I would recommend it but once you are through security the airport is fine. It's just getting there which is the biggest problem!

    In my opinion Birmingham is an airport slightly below average with more bad points than good points. I wouldn't bother recommending this airport to others because it is nothing special.

    Travelling on January 19, 2008 with hand luggage and liquids in the prescribed plastic bag, my contact lens solution (about 50ml in a 100ml bottle, clearly labelled etc was "taken for testing". The "tester" used un-gloved un-washed hands to open up my sterile solution, and said it had tested "positive" and could not be taken in hand luggage - she had no idea what it tested positive for however.     Birmingham International Airport as a structure is excellent. It's clean, compact and not over crowded. The terminals tend to be reasonably well maintained and there is a decent selection of the usual shops and eateries. Prices for food and the likes are about the same as at LGW, more expensive than other regional airports such as Coventry, Southampton or Bournemouth.
