    First time Spirit flyer and apprehensive about it. Could not have been better. On time take-off and arrivals both directions. Comfortable seats on a full aircraft. I'm a business traveler and a member of three large airline frequent flyer programs, none of which airlines have equaled the Spirit experience. I recommend highly to all based on my experience.

    Booked a flight Fort Lauderdale-La Guardia-Fort Lauderdale for $ 149,good deal but not exactly an amazing deal.
    Monday June 29 I had my flight to go back home at 3.35 pm.
    Arrived at the airport at 1.30, during the self service check-in a pretty rude Spirit employee tells me the flight has been delayed to 5.13pm(plese note the precision of the time!).After paying 25$(!!!!) to check my luggage I proceed to the gate,where I find the flight has been delayed again...new time 7.40 pm...After a while r ...

    Spirit Airlines, two days trying to reach or speak and then they tell you they will contact you by email within 10 to 15 minutes 2 days later NOTHING!

    I love there love fares and brand new aircraft. They don't have the best customer service but what can they really except the best service out of an airline that sells fares for $9 and sometimes even 1 cent. There not that bad for an ultra low cost carrier.

    Read the fine print. 1st set of prices to go from Detroit to FLL: $59 down per person down + $89 per person return. Advertised round trip ticket price for two = $296 [oh don't forget the extras] Add on taxes + luggage + actually buying a seat on the plane to sit in add on price $604. 20 minutes after my on-line booking we had a 1 day travel change.     Made reservations in April for a flight in August with Sprint Airlines. In the meantime we were rescheduled without me realising on a non-direct flight with a 5 HOUR layover in a connecting city. I could have driven to my location in the same amount of time. I don't remember there being an option for me to get a refund and make alternate plans.     I THINK SPIRIT IS THE WORST AIRLINE OUT THERE. I recently returned from a trip to Florida (Aug 12, 2008).

    REASONS WHY I THINK THEY SHOULD NOT BE USED:

    1) My luggage was lost
    2) I thought the customer service was HORRIBLE when I needed their help (none of their numbers that they gave me worked)
    3) I found their seats uncomfortable
    4) Charge $25 each bag
    5) GOT STUCK AT AN AIRPORT FOR THREE DAYS BECAUSE THEY SAID ALL FLIGHTS WERE BOOKED - they did not pay for any hotel or food costs

    I can't understand how Spirit Airlines are allowed to stay in business. They seem to me to care only about getting your money and I think there is no customer service. How unfair!! I hope no one else's parents experience this. They were left high and dry with no help from anyone at Spirit.

    It should never take 60 minutes to talk to a CS rep. They don't seem to make notes on your account as promised and when you call back, no one has any record of what is going on. I only give them a rating of 2 because they do offer cheap prices.

    Got to the airport my flight was cancelled, was not informed until I got to the check in counter. Was told that they could not help we would have to buy another ticket from another carrier, and I would get a refund. I bought a new ticket because I had hotel and car booked and paid for so I had to get on a flight. That was August 2nd 2007, it is now June 2008 and I am still waiting on my refund every time I try to ring customer service I get nowhere. I will never book with spirit again.

    I will never fly Spirit again. For years I have flown Spirit and swore by them. However the last three times I have flown them I have had major problems without being compensated by the airline at all. First problem. Originally had a flight for St Thomas planned.     Spirit Airlines were on time, comfortable chairs. Needs more ports. This airline is ok. For the price it was great. I would fly from NY to Detroit every other month and used Spirit 6 times out the year.

    Horrible customer service !!!
    must double check to see if you are really confirmed because although computer may say you are, you may not be.
    exorbitant fees to change any reservation
    that airline just don't care

    My initial flight was delayed 2 hours so I went to reschedule my connecting flight with the ticket agent. The manager got belligerent with me. He said the delay was not Spirit Airlines fault and he rescheduled me for a connecting flight the next evening. I asked what I was supposed to do for on my 24 hour layover and the manager said that was not his problem.     This is my second bad experience with Spirit Airlines and I've quite frankly had enough. I am writing this review after being automatically enrolled in the Spirit Airlines $29.95 promotional fare program. I signed up for the $9,90 day trial membership and attempted to cancel after I realized this wasn't a great deal.     This is a bit lengthy, but I will try to condense. On June 28, 2007 I booked a trip from Ft. Lauderdale to Nassau for Dec. 20, 2007 that was on flight NK409, the return was to be from Providencales back to Ft. Lauderdale on Jan. 2 2008. flight NK160. This was done by phone with Spriit Air and was for two people.

    On Aug. 7 ,2007 I receive an email from Spirit Air that says "you have been reallocated to flight # NK 160 on Jan. 5, 2008."

    I booked a round trip ticket on-line from Los Angeles to Detroit. I made the flight and was on the plane. When I went to print out my boarding pass for my return flight, a message came up that my reservation was cancelled. Calling into the 800 number was useless and I was told to go directly to the airport.     Luggage was severely damaged on a recent Spirit Airlines flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico. After speaking with the local customer service agent in San Juan, I was given a number to the corporate offices to dispute my claim. I have left three messages per day for the last 7 days and still have not received a response from anyone.

    Airline is the worst. Hard to believe they can lose my stuff and basically tell me that they don't have to pay.
