If I could give negative stars I would! We booked with Mexicana in April 2009 for flight in December 2009 from Vancouver to Ixtapa. In September 2009 we were contacted and told our flight was cancelled (seems to be a trend from other reviews). Our options as provided by Mexicana were to flight out 2 days earlier, miss Christmas with the family and incurr additional hotel costs or fly out later reducing our 7 day vacation to 3 days. Neither option was acceptable. Mexicana is blaiming the airport but it appears they changed their schedule totally. Merry Christmas to all the Mexicana employees who have ruined mine & my families!!!

Woke up the morning of my flight to Guatemala City. Checked the website that morning to re-confirm flight details. To my surprise, my first leg MTY - MEX had been canceled. Actually had called the night before, since the website does not display next day's departures!?!? and confirmed the flight. No problem at 11:30 p.m. - the night before.

Called customer service - waited 30 minutes to speak to someone - time was ticking away. The CSR confirmed that the 1st leg of the trip. . .and nothing ...

Drive, walk, ride your bike, take the bus, or even hitchhike before booking with this airline. We originally bought a set of tickets to Mexico in May of 2008. At the time of our flight we were turned away because my wife only had "white passport" even though we were originally told by the staff that it would be o.k. to travel with such documents they then charged us more money to re-issue the tickets for a later time. We were hesitant of going due to recent swine flue and when we asked to ...

Seat recline on our Mexicana flight was good, seat pitch 65 inches and easy access to aisle from window seat even when the seats ahead of you are in full recline mode.

The seats are old style manual recline. The foot rest comes up only a few inches...very hard to sleep. The meal service was same as economy. Flight from Mexico City to Buenos Aires is almost 9 hours. But, the service was with a tray with salad, dessert all at once. Drinks are served after the meal is placed...no snack provid ...

I had 2 bad experiences with Mexicana. First I flew from LA to Mexico city back in April 08, the service on board was bad the flight attendants wasn't friendly, toilet wasn't clean before departure. Second one when I booked my flight with Mexicana on AA in Nov 08, nearly miss my flight from Monterrey to Dallas because AA did not received my ticket payment from Mexicana, and spend an hour waiting AA negotiate my tickets payment with Mexicana and I received no apology or care from Mexicanas staff.

17 July original review.8 Nov follow up review.11 Dec another follow up review:
I am STILL waiting for the promised check that is "in the mail". (3 1/2 mos. now). Many more emails and phone calls.
This time they couldn't read the fax and and I had to re-submit the info. Excuses, Excuses. I in good faith payed to have luggage repaired after I was told the check was on its way...and was going to get a tracking number. My flight was in July. This is a matter of ethics, now, not the money. Yes ...

No compensation for damages. Check has been in the mail since Aug 28, almost 3 months. Excuses, excuses. My flight was Jul. 16. I had luggage repaired on good faith check was coming as promised. NO phone contact. No "person" to talk to. My first review of them (before this issue turned out to be a nightmare) was good. I take it all back.

A month ago I wrote a positive '8' review. We were content except for damaged luggage. Now I am giving them a '0' rating. Luggage was damaged. I spent weeks making phone calls and being sent all over the place and back and around again over and over. I also sent emails on the website (which by the way is useless and the worst business website I have ever seen) and to the official claims website....3 times, with photos. I have not once, not ever gotten a reply that they got my messages, even when ...

I was at Mexicana counter in Mexico City Airport 1.5 hrs before the departure of flight to Cancun. As the flight was full, they could not put me on the flight. To add insult to the injury, I was told that I had to pay to make the change of flight. They kept insisting that I had to be there 2hrs. before the flight.
When I checked their website, it says 'If the travel agency has checked you in', then you should be there 60 minutes before flight departure.
    I paid $600 (5 tickets @120 each) for cha ...

Mexicana provie free meals which was good but there were delays, no entertainment on plane (not even music, staff we dealth with weren't very freindly, they seemed totally unorganized, old planes, tickets weren't cheap).

Definitely no more Mexicana airlines for me. I would stay away from it.

There are no good points. No flight status updates on the internet site. In my opinion the phone flight status system is worthless. Since we booked through Expedia, I tried to get flight information through Expedia, Mexicana hung up on the Expedia guy!

I chose Mexicana with Travelocity as it was the best price over a few months time. I was sceptical because of the negative reviews. We were very pleased. Staff accommodated us, gave us requested seats at the airport. Actually, JAL, Quantus, American and maybe another airline were all on our same flight anyway. Customs going through Mexico city on the outgoing was fast and easy. People in CUN told us they had to wait 2 hours, about our layover time.
The only real negative the entire trip could ha ...

Flew from Oregon through Mexico City to Buenos Aires. Flight from Oregon was canceled and had to go to the airport to get a new ticket, but counter was closed despite published open times. Our luggage was left behind in Mexico City. Return flight was canceled without us receiving any notification. Customer service cannot give information about reimbursement for delayed luggage.Would not fly again - would pay significantly more and take more inconvenient travel times to avoid Mexicana.

The worst flight I have ever experienced in my life. On my way there my luggage was broken, completely busted at the seams. Returning the flight was delayed 1.5 hours, another two security checks were mandated after clearing the initial security, the luggage took over an hour to make it to the baggage claim, and on top of all that my well packed bottle of tequila (it was inside of my semi-hardshell luggage, then surrounded by soft clothing, and bubble wrapped) was completely shattered ruining ...

Reserved tickets on 15th March 2007 and still have not received a confirmation, though they charged my credit card. I called for confirmation four times and they said they do not issue an itinerary or receipt via e-mail and I can retrieve these at the time of flight at the service desk.

The last time I called in, they said my returned flight has changed. When asked why I did not receive an email notification, they did not have any good answers.

Will never fly Mexicana again. It is not ...

After the first leg Madrid-Mexico, with horrible IFE and inedible food, I had a Mexicana flight to Monterrey. Staff was very nice and smiling - such a sharp contrast from the surly Iberia crew. There was a really nice Tex Mex inflight meal which actually filled up: burrito with guacamole, salsa and sour cream.

When it turned out my luggage was lost (Iberia was involved), I got swift and effective attention, and had the bags directly to my hotel room a very short time after the following fligh ...
