Westjet has been going downhill for the last 3 years. I fly weekly from Calgary to Vancouver...but I'm going to switch to Air Canada. The last straw was the new "premium seating" where you pay 45$ for a regular seat, or exit seat, and they are left empty because no one wants to add to the already outrageous prices. When I asked to sit in the empty emergency exit seat because the massive guy beside me gave me no room to breath, I was told that they were "extra value" seats and that I would... (read more)

Westjet's premium seating is a flop. All that it has accomplished is cramming passengers into a smaller area. Very few people will pay extra to sit in a same size seat with the same service as economy. The program is not attracting first class travellers. It is only annoying its loyal customers. (read more)

Flight attendant Chuck on west jet 373 from Ottawa to Toronto was HiLLIARIOUS. His crew were happy, he made the passengers chuckle. After a long day that is exactly what I needed. I agree, Westjet was once an amazing airline that set itself apart from Air Canada. No fee for a second checked bag, no fee to change flight dates, cheaper flights and excellent customer service was, for me, what made Westjet my go-to carrier.
Nowadays none of that exists and Air Canada and Westjet seem to have eerily similar prices for the same routes. Its very unfortunate and I can definitely say Westjet is no longer my preferred airline within Canada.

You could have avoided the whole thing if you checked into the rules of flying with an infant. I fly with my son on Westjet all the time and they are great. Legally, in Canada if you are 2 or over you need a seat. This information is not hidden on their website. Plus, I have flown interlink as well. Whoever you buy the ticket from, are the only ones who can make changes to your reservation. Did Westjet pay for your hotel? I understand that you are upset but you have to take responsibility for not being prepared for your trip.

Dear .......,
We are writing in response to your e-mail dated November 11, 2012
with regards to the inconvenience you’ve suffered.
For the portion Halifax to Toronto, Korean Air serves as a marketing carrier
and West Jet, operating carrier. In this case, marketing carrier’s rule
for an infant ticket should be followed. West Jet followed their own infant
ticket rule which led to the tremendous inconvenience caused for your family.
Your case was delivered to West Jet, customer affairs team for further review
and requested corrective actions. We are regrettable that it did not meet up
to your expectations this time. We will proactively seek ways in providing
better service.
We look forward to serving you again soon.

Just finished flying with WestJet. Secret to the CEOs of companies making S...t loads of money. They and their company rob the consumer.
My $100.00 refund was not credited back to my credit card but to some "bank"...in my husband's name. Add insult to injury; the $100.00 refund DOES NOT include the taxes I have already paid out !!! Now what's up with that ??? Other companies will give a refund on our credit cards plus the amount of taxes involved.
They DO NOT have a direct telephone number so there is no way to reach the head office..
