Good Points: Lots of features and good price and despite the problems the JVC staff always tried to offer a helpful solution. Good support.
Bad Points: Groaning noise during record mode and screeching during playback of certain tapes and mashed up a tape as well. The clock also tended to lose time despite my checking whether auto date feature was on or off and so this meant that timers didn't always record at the right time.
General comments: My JVC HR-XV2 had to be replaced three times. Mainly the same faults, groaning noise during record mode and screeching during playback of certain tapes and mashed up a tape as well.
I have just replaced it with a different brand as the current replacement arrived without remote/instructions etc and had same fault.
