Good Points: Clive Barker's passages are interesting and thought-provoking. The book is well-presented and has some challenging artwork in it.
Bad Points: A lot of the photography in the book is nothing new and can be rather mundane.
General comments: David E Armstrong, Rare Flesh - If I'm totaly honest, I bought this book purely for the text by Clive Barker that appears in it. I had no idea what to expect and how much he would feature within the pages, but I was aware that there would be some passages. I'm what you could call Barker obssessed (but not in a scary 'psycho' way.....I just love his work a lot). Well anyway, the brief and infrequent passages Mr. Barker has in there are indeed interesting and enjoyable, especially with David Armstrong's photos alongside them, but I must say that I was a little disappointed. The photographic concepts are nothing new and those that were thought-provoking were few and far between. That said, I am still intrigued by Armstrong's work and will take the time to follow his work in the future. I recommend that you view the book's contents before you buy here, so you know exactly what you are buying. There are also some rather adult images in it.
