    Good Points: Friendly staff, decent food, free drinks INC. alcoholic, decent entertainment, good selection of music


    Bad Points: Delays, malfunctioning entertainment system at times, turbulence


    General comments: Overall, I had a decent experience with Air Pacific and I will most definitely fly with them again. I did run into a few problems with them but the staff were there to assist and as well did offer compensation upon arrival. My experience is as follows:I boarded from Vancouver to Honolulu, and to Fiji. During that time, I did not experience any delays, had excellent meals, and interacted with some of the most friendliest airline staff I have met. They offered all the basic amenities such as blankets and pillows to allow for sleep. However, during this 14 hour plane ride, the entertainment system had broken down which was a downer. I did however bring alternative entertainment so I wasn't that mad at all.As I stopped over in Fiji awaiting to arrive in Sydney, I was told that we were delayed for 7 hours and that they had already made arrangements for us to stay in a hotel until then. They had even booked a shuttle for all of us to take us to/and from the hotel when our flight was ready.My flight from Fiji to Sydney went off without any problems or delay and 4 hours later, I had arrived without any issues. Entertainment worked without any issues and they served some excellent food.

    Flew from Minnesota to Sydney Jan 12 08. The flight from Los Angeles to Nadi was delayed 11 hours due to (airline claimed) routine maintenance. We were supposed to have vegetarian meals and for all 4 of our flights on Air Pacific only one of us received one. The seats (747) were old and terribly worn and many had stains on them and were filthy. . The seat pitch on their 747's is less than 25" so be warned if you are over 5' 5" that your seat will be tiring and exhausting and extremely cramped. T ...

    I flew Air Pacific from Honolulu to Brisbane via Nadi and return. On my way to Oz I was delayed several hours and had to spend the night in Nadi, as I missed my connection. However, Air Pacific paid for a nice hotel, dinner and brekko. In the aftermath I found out that my delay was caused by Air Pacific grounding several of its planes due to electrical problems.     I flew from Melbourne to Nadi in May, 2005 with Air Pacific. My flight there was delayed 25 hours. I was called only once to tell me about the delay, despite the estimated time of departure changing repeatedly. I was offered no compensation, despite forfeiting a night's accommodation in Fiji and missing an entire day of an already short holiday. On the way back, I was delayed a further 2 hours. No apology was made, and the pilot even had the gall to say we were arriving ahead of schedule!!!

    My flight from Nadi to Melbourne was on board their only 767. We boarded at around 6:00pm with no delay. The flight lasted about 6 hours and there was little turbulence. The films were "X-menII" and "Bruce Almighty", although they were hard to watch due to the fact that the headphone inlets were old and worn out and that there were only ceiling and cabin-front screens.
