Bad Points: I had to have a landline to get this deal.
General comments: I've only had good dealings on the few occasions I've had to call BT Mobile customer service. Never been left waiting and problems have always been sorted swiftly
Cheap sim-only contract (I think!) - with a BT landline I was able to get a SIM-only deal at half-price for a lifetime. Costs me £12.77 + VAT incl 200 mins calls per month and 50 texts.

At £48.50 a month plus VAT for a BT Mobile business tarrif it is very expensive and that is including a discount because I signed up for a 2 year contract to get this price. This contract gave me 500 minutes a month and unlimited text messages and the phones you get to choose from are very poor.
Coverage wasn't very good when you consider that they used to be part of cellnet so I believed that they would have been on the same network as o2.
On one occasion we recieved a bill for £ ...- Read dizzyfizzy1's review (199 words)

Took two phone calls to get sim card posted (no record of the first) and when it arrived it was not registered. After about two hours on the phone (most of it listening to music!) being redirected or being told I had phoned the wrong number and to try another. I even phoned OFTEL to ask them if they had the number I should phone. I emailed them as well. 5 days later the SIM card was still not activated so I went to TESCOs and bought TESCO SIM card. Old number transferred in two days.Tesco mobi ...- Read Guest's review (147 words)

To start off with, since I was paying via direct debit with BT, they took nearly £145 in the month of August, and when I called them for a refund, they refused to pay the money, and they still haven't disconnected the mobile.

I've been cut off 3 times from BT Mobile (two of these times they couldn't explain the reasons). They said one was because of the direct debit (their error), so I made a payment with my credit card, which took the boy in the billing department 35 minutes??? 20 minutes of that was spent on hold!
After 6 months I downgraded. It seemed OK for 1 month, then I got a bill for £10 over what I agreed, so I phoned the billing department, and again. I am put on hold for 15 minutes with no explan ...- Read A90212210's review (238 words)

After a relatively painless 1st year with BT Mobile, I decided to upgrade the phone and tarriff. This is because the initial 12 month contract jumped up to some ridiculous monthly rate.
No problem: one phonecall, new Sony Erikkson arrived next day, promises of £9.99/month tarriff-so far so good. Until following month when next bill came in, the £9.99 had turned into £39. A simple error and easy to fix I thought-NO. I have had to make weekly phonecalls for the last 8 weeks, sta ...- Read jonboymc's review (182 words)

BT Mobile did nothing right, and my 12 month contract was like a prison sentence. The service and information was appalling and completely inaccessible, and the customer service was non-existent and useless. The contracts are rubbish!- Read georgie gandy's review (43 words)

My sentence is up and I can finally leave this painful and expensive relationship with BT Mobile after 12 months of contract commitment. I wanted out within a week of joining!! The customer service is a joke! They are almost impossible to get hold of, and then of course you must be prepared to always start your request from the beginning with each new voice at the end of the line.
I spent a week in Wales/Shropshire unable to contact anyone unless I headed towards England in my car to seek a sig ...- Read edje707's review (234 words)

I have been really happy with BT Mobile, as the coverage is good. It is really easy to stay within my text and bolt-ons limits, and free calls to my landline are really useful. The only reason I may be leaving, is that I want cheaper international texts (they charge 20p each, which is standard, but I'm trying to find cheaper), and their upgrade deals aren't great, but what company's are? I was really happy with them, and had no problems getting picture messaging to work, or international roam ...- Read laughingfreek's review (172 words)

I have been with BT Mobile for 15 - 16 months now, why did I ever upgrade?!? From March 2004 - March 2005 couldn't fault the service or the staff, never had a problem with it so I thought I would stick with them for another year... big mistake!!
First off they send my upgraded handset to an address I haven't lived at for 6 months, although they can send the bills to the right place. After an hour or so of calls to Royal Mail and BT finally track it down and they have to send a new one out. That ...- Read gbarlow5's review (683 words and 1 comment)

I have just left BTmobile after my 1 year contract is up. What a relief. Even that they didn't manage properly. When I phoned to get the code to transfer my number I was told they couldn't "action" it right away and they'd call back within the hour. They didn't. When it was eventually sorted they failed to let the number go at the time arranged and I had to chase them up again. It was a pain from the start. Took hours of phone calls over three or four days to set up WAP and SMS messaging and the ...- Read helenac's review (158 words)

The customer service is so bad that any good offers will seem lost when you ring them for anything to do with the phone. Average call waiting time is about 40mins before you get through to the operator, then if you need to be transferred to another dept, expect another delay of anything between 10-30 mins. On top of all that they will just cut you off so you start all over again. I have spent on one occasion 5 hours trying to talk to a BT representative. DONT BUY BT MOBILE. YOU WILL REGRET IT!! ...- Read anagdee's review (104 words)

After having major problems getting a contract because I had only had my BT lines for a month, there has been lots of problems I could not receive text messages, after about 10 calls they decided to send me a new phone, but sent me a sim card by mistake. They said they sent the phone but I only got it on the sixth attempt. The replacement phone was in a worse state than the one I sent back. BT Mobile refused to fix it so I had to send it to Motorola, who said they had lost it. I needed to ge ...- Read torh's review (232 words)

BT Mobile are a relatively new network and have had, therefore, a few teething problems.
I recently connected to BT Mobile last month and last night, I noticed that my phone had only "limited service" available. I called them up this morning to find that they had, for no reason, terminated my contract. They are now attempting to reconnect me but I am facing a great deal of trouble re: potentially losing my existing mobile number and having to set up a new contract (this is a hassle because I ...- Read camstudent's review (150 words)

I needed a new phone as my Nokia 8210 started playing up. Searched around and BT mobile seemed to be the cheapest. Got a Sony T610 with the deal. I pay £9.99 for 1st 6 months and then £25 for next 6 months. By sending the 6 and 12 monthly bills I get a rebate of approx £75 each time. Works out at approx £5 per month. Just hope they honour these rebates.
I've yet to be sent a bill although my bank account has been debited. 5 weeks after using the service contacted ...- Read roberts1's review (185 words)

All BT Mobile contracts offer free quick calls home - which is great with teenagers (no worries about running out of credit). Many great phones available free of charge, so can work out cheaper than "pay as you go", because call costs are cheaper. You can get text alerts to monitor usage, and you can bar premium rate & international calls. They have some good deals on giving credit on your landline bills at the moment. Pre-purchased text/voice bundles are good value (texts are 6p each), and the ...- Read pinch's review (155 words)

BT Mobile have given poor service ever since I signed up for a new phone with them just over a month ago. I signed up for the 100 mins + 50 texts service at £9.99 per month (4.99 FOR 1ST 6MONTHS - this turns out to be a messy cashback offer) and the phone failed to turn up. It seems the order was misplaced! OK so I replace the order and it arrives 2 days later, so we plug it in and it takes over a day to connect to the BT network. So it seems all is OK until the 1st bill arrives and I have ...- Read anc123's review (235 words)
