“BT should follow EE example and value business customers”

Written on: 30/10/2012 by ThankyouBT

£12.75 monthly contract fees is extortionate. If you roll out iPhones on the BT mobile network, you may as well simply send BT blank business cheques and allow them to take as much money as they want. On the surface 1Gb of data seems generous, but £2 per Mb if you exceed this limit is scandalous!!! You can't tether, therefore you will need to pay for an additional dongle. If you exceed the data limit on the dongles, guess what... That's right even more charges. 2 month after rolling... (read more)

Am getting Tablets for the vans, we have had very good service from BT unlike most of the company s that we deal with who slate their phone company. I have just read some of these views with astonishment. I had never had a smartphone before and signed up for 2 years with a Blackberry 8520. They were very good at helping me set up my email accounts. I have never had a problem with the phone and I get good signals where other networks are useless.

Written on: 25/05/2010

As a business owner I signed up to the BT Mobile service 12 months ago (2 year contract). During this time I have had the handset swapped no less than 8 times - each time meaning I have had to stay in the office and sit around all day waiting for the swap, as opposed to being out earning the money I should be. When I asked for a different handset as fed up of swapping, they refused, so I refused to pay the bill (not paying for a service I haven't been receiving). It is now at the stage... (read more)

I've only had good dealings on the few occasions I've had to call BT Mobile customer service. Never been left waiting and problems have always been sorted swiftly

Cheap sim-only contract (I think!) - with a BT landline I was able to get a SIM-only deal at half-price for a lifetime. Costs me £12.77 + VAT incl 200 mins calls per month and 50 texts. (read more)

At £48.50 a month plus VAT for a BT Mobile business tarrif it is very expensive and that is including a discount because I signed up for a 2 year contract to get this price. This contract gave me 500 minutes a month and unlimited text messages and the phones you get to choose from are very poor.
Coverage wasn't very good when you consider that they used to be part of cellnet so I believed that they would have been on the same network as o2.

Written on: 17/04/2008

Took two phone calls to get sim card posted (no record of the first) and when it arrived it was not registered. After about two hours on the phone (most of it listening to music!) being redirected or being told I had phoned the wrong number and to try another. I even phoned OFTEL to ask them if they had the number I should phone. I emailed them as well.
5 days later the SIM card was still not activated so I went to TESCOs and bought TESCO SIM card. Old number transferred in two days.

To start off with, since I was paying via direct debit with BT, they took nearly £145 in the month of August, and when I called them for a refund, they refused to pay the money, and they still haven't disconnected the mobile.

I've been cut off 3 times from BT Mobile (two of these times they couldn't explain the reasons). They said one was because of the direct debit (their error), so I made a payment with my credit card, which took the boy in the billing department 35 minutes??? 20 minutes of that was spent on hold!

After 6 months I downgraded. It seemed OK for 1 month, then I got a bill for £10 over what I agreed, so I phoned the billing department, and again. I am put on hold for 15 minutes with no... (read more)

Written on: 21/11/2005 by jonboymc (1 review written)

After a relatively painless 1st year with BT Mobile, I decided to upgrade the phone and tarriff. This is because the initial 12 month contract jumped up to some ridiculous monthly rate.
No problem: one phonecall, new Sony Erikkson arrived next day, promises of £9.99/month tarriff-so far so good. Until following month when next bill came in, the £9.99 had turned into £39. A simple error and easy to fix I thought-NO. I have had to make weekly phonecalls for the last 8 weeks, starting from... (read more)

My sentence is up and I can finally leave this painful and expensive relationship with BT Mobile after 12 months of contract commitment. I wanted out within a week of joining!! The customer service is a joke! They are almost impossible to get hold of, and then of course you must be prepared to always start your request from the beginning with each new voice at the end of the line.

Written on: 06/09/2005 by laughingfreek (1 review written)

I have been really happy with BT Mobile, as the coverage is good. It is really easy to stay within my text and bolt-ons limits, and free calls to my landline are really useful. The only reason I may be leaving, is that I want cheaper international texts (they charge 20p each, which is standard, but I'm trying to find cheaper), and their upgrade deals aren't great, but what company's are? I have been with BT Mobile for 15 - 16 months now, why did I ever upgrade?!? From March 2004 - March 2005 couldn't fault the service or the staff, never had a problem with it so I thought I would stick with them for another year... big mistake!!

Written on: 07/07/2005

Well were now into July and BT still haven't managed to sort my problem out and seem to be just passing the buck between the departments, its gone from second line billing to QA now as it was apparently them who deleted my contract on the 16th April.
Only ever had 1 call back and that was last week when they told be it was being turned on. It still isn't, well to be fair now if you ring my number it does go to the answer phone (with the phone on or off) which is better than a disconnected dial tone but I still can't use the damned thing! On top of that they changed the operator to Vodafone from T-Mobile and that is why the signal quality has gone to the dogs. I get a signal in about a quarter of the places I used to. If they had bothered to notify us of this then I would have never stayed with them, then if I thought I was going to have this much hassle as well I wouldn't of bothered.
My advice, steer clear if you wanna hold on to your sanity.

I have just left BTmobile after my 1 year contract is up. What a relief. Even that they didn't manage properly. When I phoned to get the code to transfer my number I was told they couldn't "action" it right away and they'd call back within the hour. They didn't. When it was eventually sorted they failed to let the number go at the time arranged and I had to chase them up again. It was a pain from the start. Written on: 04/06/2005 by anagdee

The customer service is so bad that any good offers will seem lost when you ring them for anything to do with the phone. Average call waiting time is about 40mins before you get through to the operator, then if you need to be transferred to another dept, expect another delay of anything between 10-30 mins. On top of all that they will just cut you off so you start all over again. I have spent on one occasion 5 hours trying to talk to a BT representative. DONT BUY BT MOBILE. YOU WILL REGRET... After having major problems getting a contract because I had only had my BT lines for a month, there has been lots of problems I could not receive text messages, after about 10 calls they decided to send me a new phone, but sent me a sim card by mistake. BT Mobile are a relatively new network and have had, therefore, a few teething problems.

I recently connected to BT Mobile last month and last night, I noticed that my phone had only "limited service" available. I called them up this morning to find that they had, for no reason, terminated my contract. They are now attempting to reconnect me but I am facing a great deal of trouble re: potentially losing my existing mobile number and having to set up a new contract (this is a hassle because... I needed a new phone as my Nokia 8210 started playing up. Searched around and BT mobile seemed to be the cheapest. Got a Sony T610 with the deal. I pay £9.99 for 1st 6 months and then £25 for next 6 months. By sending the 6 and 12 monthly bills I get a rebate of approx £75 each time. Works out at approx £5 per month. Just hope they honour these rebates.

I've yet to be sent a bill although my bank account has been debited. 5 weeks after using the service contacted BT. They said they... (read more)

All BT Mobile contracts offer free quick calls home - which is great with teenagers (no worries about running out of credit). Many great phones available free of charge, so can work out cheaper than "pay as you go", because call costs are cheaper. You can get text alerts to monitor usage, and you can bar premium rate & international calls. They have some good deals on giving credit on your landline bills at the moment. Pre-purchased text/voice bundles are good value (texts are 6p each), and... (read more)

BT Mobile have given poor service ever since I signed up for a new phone with them just over a month ago. I signed up for the 100 mins + 50 texts service at £9.99 per month (4.99 FOR 1ST 6MONTHS - this turns out to be a messy cashback offer) and the phone failed to turn up. It seems the order was misplaced! OK so I replace the order and it arrives 2 days later, so we plug it in and it takes over a day to connect to the BT network. So it seems all is OK until the 1st bill arrives and I have... (read more)

Porting my number to BT Mobile took ages, BT Mobile opened two accounts in my name - one for a phone/SIM I'd never seen let alone had or activated. They continue to try to charge me for two accounts despite my repeated efforts by phone, email and by post to get them to correct their errors. They have now cut off my phone despite my account (for the only phone I have) being in good standing throughout the duration of my contract.

BT Mobile - Managed to get my number ported. Have complained about the service via e-mail (actually speaking to someone is nigh on impossible!) I agree with Chrismk. I am a BT mobile customer and I wish I had seen your complaint before I joined BT mobile.

I was cut-off from the BT mobile network for one and a half months and BT agreed to refund me for the cost of using a pay as you go during that time. They never refunded me and instead charged me the rental cost for that period.

In addition, the first 2 months of my contract, I was charged for a number I never had and this lasted for almost 3 months before they agreed to refund me.

BT Mobile give poor service, I am now being told it'll take 10 days to port accross my old phone number, even though it was turned off my old phone days ago.
