I have a 1.9 jtd stilo, it has many little fiddly problems nothing i cant live with but it is generally a great car, i think it has set the standard for hatchbacks considering when it had first come out. All cars have problems, this is wear and tear. generally people stick to what they know. fiats were previously pretty poor with elecrical problems and rust but since 1998 the bodies are galvanised so you do not have to worry about these things. handling is ok, starts every time on the... A truly nasty car. The 1.6 wouldn't pull your hat off in a strong wind. The handling is poor, like trying to drive a bag of water.
The warning lights on the dash are on more than not, especially the passenger airbag light, which looking at the forums seems to be exceedingly common.
If you are lucky, you may get over 70,000 miles without replacing the coils and injectors, but don't bet on it.
It does have a good feature though, it keeps you dry when it rains, otherwise walking is a far...

this car must be the most unsafe car i have ever had and i have had some old bangers in my time, i say this because the car wants to stall all the time just when i go to pull out at a roundabout or any other road junction ,this making it very unsafe, it cost me over £200 to fix it at a fiat main agent and it is still no better, i will never go near a fiat again.can't wait to get rid of this car. I've found that 0-60mph only takes 7.9 secs in my Fiat Stilo Dynamic 1.6 when on paper its supposed to take 10.5, attractive looking car, easy to drive, reasonable handling although mine does tend to undesteer quite badly if i push it a little too far, has a big boot, trip computer is useful
my stilo has not been great for me as since i bought it 4/5 months ago i have had some failures.
However, my stilo had done close to 108,000miles and I would still buy another one because i love mine

very good interior space; a wide range of excellent safety features normally found in much more expensive cars; good styling. Fun to drive. Good handling. Good economy. I bought this Fiat Stilo Dynamic 1.6 2004 model as a demonstrator from the dealer at 7000km. It has performed really well with no faults. It is fun to drive and provides me reliable, safe transport. not had any problems in 4 years and 81,000km of ownership. (read more)

My Fiat Stilo Dynamic is such a great car to drive. I think it is a good all round car, nice to look at and is actually quite nippy, the inside has some great gadgets and the interior is not bad either, this is a really comfortable car to drive. (read more)

Really liked this car when I got it but it just keeps letting me down. WARNING LIGHTS always going off e.g. airbag-breaks and lights.
2 headlights and 4 break/stop lights in 2 years. 3 of the 4 coil packs replaced injector failure £550 to fix.

The Fiat Stilo Dynamic 1.6 is a potentially good car but spoiled by horrendous number of faults during and after warranty period, to include burst radiator, failed door lock mechanism, failed coils and failed airbag. Also heavy on tyre wear (suspension probs?) (read more)

My Fiat Stilo Dynamic 1.6L family car was 10 months old when we bought it from a Fiat dealership, ex hire car. We feel we got a reasonable deal as we bought it cheaper than the book price for a used one. the dealership has tried to correct problems. It can be unreliable (see bad points) but certainly not the worst car we have owned (that award belongs to Rover), on the contrary we like this car, it has plenty of space, very easy to drive, high comfortable driving position (that rates it... Same here. 3 coils replaced, constant air bag warning, new radiator, 4 tyres and counting new exhaust, the list is endless and still growing, being a single working mum I can't afford another car and keeping mine on the road is extortionate.
<br/>52 reg 4 door dynamic with air con that never works and flashing warning lights on every drive....blissful driving I think not.
