I thought Anglesey Sea Zoo looked pretty shoddy from the outside, but it was pouring down (being this August bank holiday) so my girlfriend and I had a look. We weren't disappointed. I think the actual tanks and information were probably more suited to adults, especially if you were either into conservation or were a fish-fanatic, but there seemed to be things for kids to do too (especially outside the centre with bouncy castles and remote-controlled boats). I liked the shark pool where you walk over a room of dogfish, skates, sharks and rays on a gridded walkway. We had a long talk from one of the enthusiastic "activists" here, which was really informative about all the fish on display, and also on current shark conservation issues. I think he lost all of the kids after a couple of minutes, and myself after a couple more, but I appreciated that they hadn't dumbed this aquarium down to the lowest common denominator. I also loved some of the displays showing some of the workings of the centre and conservation, such as spherical fishtanks of seahorse fry swirling around in currents and seeing them grow tiny lobsters in individual compartments in trays.
It definately all seems a little home-made, and, well, British, but it wins out because you're visiting a marine biology laboratory rather than a Disneyfied money-making aquarium.

The entrance fee is high for what you get at the Anglesey Sea Zoo. If the weather is find there are quite a few attractions for children to play on, mainly for the younger children like the bouncy castle, spring type single rides, and slide. For the older children there is a obstical course, or spend more money to play crazy golf or £1 to pressure hose pirates.

Visited Anglesey Sea Zoo each summer four years in a row and no variation. In fact, some of the tanks even had the same marks on the glass (comparing previous photographs) . It is in need of a general tidy up with more attractions. It is not bad but nothing out of the ordinary to draw me back in. Typical Sea life centre which looks good on the outside. Poor value for money compared to other sea life centres.
However, the nail in the coffin for me was the cafe. I found it to be dirty, overpric ...

I visited here in Summer and thought it was odd. It was clean, not shoddy at all and all the fish tanks were well sized. The feed was brilliant and there was loads of hands on stuff for kids. The invertebrate and shipwreck zones were the best, the invertebrate zone included octopuses and the wreck with conger eels.
    Tanks 9/10.
    Lay out 9/10.
    value 7/10.
    Variety of fish 10/10.
    Parking 6.5/10.
    Amount of fish 7.5/10.

A very good aquarium. Spend 2 hours there and marvelled at the beautiful fish/lobsters in brilliant tanks! Well worth going.

I found Anglesey Sea zoo a good place to have a wander around for a couple of hours, while it rained outside. On my visit it was empty and my boyfriend and I were possibly the only ones there. I personally would have liked to have know more about the displays, and it seems most of the imformation boards where aimed at children. There where some amazing tanks with intresting designs, but even they can only hold your attention for so long. Not a bad way to spend a couple of hours... but be prepare ...

Anglesey Sea Zoo is a small scale sea world, very shoddy and tired. Not an awful lot to see, maybe would suit a toddler. The cafe was dreadful, dirty, very small portions. We ordered meatballs and spaghetti, with the tomato sauce, when it eventually turned up it was with sweet and sour sauce, when we complained was told, oh we ran out. I noticed friends of staff, going behind counter to help themselves to drinks. Hygiene issues!! Felt totally ripped off.
