I worked a placement through the Stevenage branch of Adecco in 2008-2009 and actually had no problems. But when I needed a job and signed up again last year, standards had clearly dropped. I made it clear to them the types of work I was and wasn't interested in, I've done a lot of cleaning and catering work in the past, but want to try and get away from it as there's no future there. In the following weeks every single offer was either a cleaning or a catering vacancy, and they tried to... (read more)

Came across as caring and honest, after a short time, found out they are not even good at telling lies which they do all the time, wouldn't trust them at all, even the employers who I have worked for say they felt they were not very good from their point of view either. Leave well alone is my advice. They just want you on their books for figures, nothing else, their promises are empty. I went to Adecco on 10th December to sign up and had a chat with the receptionist. She quickly gave me a job which I declined as it was rather desperate attempt to fill the role and not in the area or pay rate that I am looking for. She then gave me a business card for one of her colleagues. Roll on February and I still haven't heard from them despite following up via email to the recruitment consultant every two weeks. I rung up last week to complain. They gave me the general email... (read more)

Hi, I worked five, 12 hour shifts in Sept 2012 for Newark Adecco and they still haven't paid me despite several trips to the office and a formal letter requesting urgent attention for outstanding money owed to me. I am currently working three shifts on and three shifts off. Theses are 12 hour shifts. For those 36 hours I worked I have been paid £129.00 that works out at £3.58 ph for an over 25year old. Certainly not the £7.50 ph I was promised. No payslips provided by Adecco... (read more)

I worked for two months around Christmas time; this was around 2010. When I met up with them they arranged to meet me where I live rather than travel to them and they were very polite and nice. While working on the job they rang every now and then to make sure I was okay and having no problems. I was paid with no problems. I enjoyed working with them. My only problem now - 2012 is that there are no jobs at all in Kent on their website which is worrying. (read more)

I worked for Adecco between 2004 and 2005. It was after responding to a job ad for a website administrator I registered with them. At first they welcomed me with open arms and were very friendly. So far, so good. Got the job no problem, but Adecco failed to inform me that the job was being axed due to departmental restructure, before I started. The two main office workers are bully's, unprofessional, abrupt just about everything you would not want in a industry as this. Telephone manner has a lot to be desired too. Holiday pay is a rip off, only they know how much holiday you have but expect you to know by using a crystal ball. They have no idea how people want to be treated and spoke to. Treat people like dirt and a number. I would not use again, i would rather be on the dole than make these kind of people money. (read more)

I am the Branch Manager for here and felt the need to comment on your thoughts.
On registration with Adecco you are clearly informed about the process of claiming holidays and it is clearly in your contract which you sign on registration.
Every individual has a different average daily rate depending on there pay rate and hours worked over a twelve week period , so it is impossible to give anyone accuarte payment figures in advance. But it is an easy calculation to know how many days you have as you accrue half a day per working week
We are more than happy to check the holidays for our associates with a quick call into the branch, and value our associates as individuals not numbers.
If you have personal issues with our services I am more than happy to sit and discuss this face to face or pass on to you my managers details

I have never received return calls or emails.
