Stay away from this company! I would strongly recommend that noone ever purchase any product of AXA's from their portfolio. Having made a claim last year they did every thing possible to delay processing in an deliberate item to frustrate so I may drop the claim. They requested duplicate documentation several times, basically couldnt add two invoices together, deliberately held back correspondence, breached Data Protection and FSA claims handling rules and then finally upon settlement took 2 months to pay out!

Subscribed a Axa-schengen travel insurance for a fried from Turkey who visited me in Belgium last summer. For only 39' we subscribed online and got the coveradge certificate to become the Schengen-visum. My friend had an accident and we got a very good help of Axa and payment of all medical expenses, except the 100' exemption. My friend is now very well, he left the hospital after 3 days without further complications.

Axa do their utmost to frustrate their customers into not pursuing a claim. My wife was hospitalised in France and AXA could not care less if they tried. I had to fight for 3 weeks while incurring expenses for the extended stay in France. Some of the excuses from AXA on why they were delaying making a decision were ridiculous and included, "The person who can speak french in not in for the next 2 days"! There was an AXA branch within 600 meters of the hospital! IF you are aborad with limited fun ...

My mum had an accident in India, she fell down a flight of stairs and broke her wrist & bumped her head. I contacted AXA who arranged for her to be flown to a international hospital in Delhi where she underwent tests and an operation and then sent a Doctor over from the UK to get her repatriated back to the UK. The service was very good and I would recommend anyone who is looking for a good travel policy to seriously consider AXA, especially if they are going out of the country for longer than ...

AVIOD , how can they expect your to keep your valuables on you 100% time of travels? where on a plane or taxi or porter moving your luggage do you keep valuables on yourself?.... joke.

My advice is to never purchase an AXA travel insurance policy from AXA or Essential Travel, not now or in the future. Their policy was not worth the paper it was printed on. If it had not been for his friends and the fact he was still able to use his mobile phone, he would have been entirely on his own.

Axa Travel Insurance argue that it is not valid for trip departures. Service slow to respond (months). Lloyds could have been more helpful. Check what it does cover first.

We were stuck in the middle of the USA because of flight cancellations. Great you think? AXA annual travel insurance should cover us? We phoned them and they said we could put in a claim when we got back etc. but because the hold-up was not the final point of departure back to the UK, it was rejected!
Avoid this insurance if you make multiflight trips!

Having a pre-condition that I had to notify AXA. It took 6 calls to sort this out. At first I was sceened for my condition, then i had to call another number, yes a premier number. I was put on hold. Five minutes later I hung up, I needed insurance so I called back, I was on hold for nearly ten minutes.
I hung up. Still fourth in line. I redialled. Success. Only one in front. Six minutes later I was on.
Three minutes later I was off. Axa had given me the wrong number. I called Axa. They apolog ...

My sister-in-law died when the brain tumour she was being treated for turned extremely aggressive whilst we were on holiday in Florida. My wife had been to see her only 2 weeks before, and there was talk of a 6 month course of treatment. She had seemed in good spirits and health considering. There was no way we would have gone on holiday had we any suspicion that what happened would. Unfortunately, the eldest daughter was also away at the time.

The claim we made with AXA Travel Insurance was ...

My husband was very ill on holiday in Florida we had no help at all and no where had heard of Axa Travel Insurance. We had a dreadfull time because of them then back in the UK. We tried to claim for medication that he had to buy and we were told we didn't have the right info even though we sent them what they requested.

Unfortunately my mum has got a severe hernia, and has been scheduled for surgery. All the relevant forms were filled in to claim for the child on the booking who was insured with AXA Travel Insurance on Thomson Gold. My mum and dad were both insured with Direct Line (fantastic company), and their claim was settled within 10 days. Axa however firstly advised that there would be an excess of £65, which made you think twice about claiming, as you have the expense of doctors letters etc. This ...

I booked a last minute holiday to Cyprus (booked on Saturday and flew Sun). Axa quoted me £11.90 per person for slandered cover or £14 for premier cover. I choose the Premier cover since there wasn't much difference. As I would miss the post, they sent me the details of my policy by E-mail and sent a link to the terms and conditions of my insurance. Although I did not have to make a claim, I found the service good value for money.
