What can I say, this is a really good hatchback.
I have owned mine for 2 days and it has changed my whole outlook on the conecpt of what speed is!
This car just pushed surges of power in every gear.
However the back end has jumped out on me a couple of times, which lowers my confidence when driving hard through corners. I used to own a lowerered Saxo VTR, which I could hammer through every corner, however the GTI-6 is a different ball game; you need to be awake to drive this thing otherwise "hello mr hedge, tree or wall, bye bye GTI-6" get it?
This car feels very sturdy and well built.
As far as looks and sound goes, I personally think the cars needs a few mods, ie. exhaust, induction kit, headlights and visible GTI-6 stickers (no body kits, neons or stuff like that).

Quick, Sticks to the road and very nice to drive.Drinks petrol, but what do you expect from a sports car. No bad points I can think of.

If you want performance at cheap costs, THIS is the car for you!
If you want a car that's comfy & fun to drive then THIS is the car for you!
If you want a family car for shopping trips this isn't the ideal car for you - sell the wife & kids instead ;)

This is my third 306 now, I've previously owned a '97 D-turbo and an '01 1.8 XS, both of which were great cars but only boasted around 100bhp, give or take a few.

The Gti-6 is a completely different ball game! with almost 170bhp and a 6-speed 'close ratio' gearbox, it's still capable of biting the heels of newer performance cars such as the Civic TypeR and Golf Gti's! My most previous car was a mk4 Golf Gti 1.8T, chipped to 197 bhp by APR, but the Gti-6 seems a touch quicker. When driven har ...

I really struggled to find a really good 90's hot hatch after parting with both a Golf Vr6 and Astra GTe 16v. At first I was going to buy a Clio Williams but failed to find a good one. In the end I settled on the Peugeot 306 GTI6 and it turned out to be a really good car that did most things I asked of it. The understated looks of the car are both a good thing and a bad thing. I do normally like my hot hatches to look hot.
After 2.5 years and over 20,000 miles I've now sold the car but enjoyed ...

Where do I start since owning this car it has changed the way I drive forever. The power starts from the moment you turn the key and the sound when your above 4000rpm is great.

If anyone is in the market for a hot hatch this has to be the one for you. It may not be the fasted anymore or one of the prettiest but it is by far one of the most enjoyable to drive.

There is more than enough power for the roads we drive on nowadays. 0-60 is around 7.2 seconds and top end is around 140mph. ...

After having emptied my bank account with a Corrado VR6, I needed something that represented performance, economy, practicality, and value-for-money.
There was little to choose from that was younger than 5 years old and not too expensive, and having regretted selling my 205 1.9 GTi some years earlier I looked at a Peugeot 306 GTi-6.
Getting in the car, you notice that you sit quite high, and the driving position is not ideal, although most controls are easy to hand, and the pedals and steering ...

My brother bought his Peugeot 306 2.0 16v GTi-6 2 years ago, and ever since I first drove it i fell in love with it. When he was forced to sell it I jumped at the chance to buy it! I have never looked back since, and the more I drive it, the more I love it!

    The Peugeot 306 2.0 16v GTi-6, hot hatch of the 1990s?

A subtle car, few realise that beneath its bonnet lies an 167bhp monster of an engine, with a six speed box to compliment it. The 306 is well regarded as a good all round hatch that handles and drives superbly. A '6' takes this a level higher with great road holding, responsive steering and fantastic brakes. What really makes this such a great car is the whole package. A car capable of keeping up with 20+k sports cars, but also having (hal ...
