Good Points: Best golf game ever, period.
Excellent longevity and replay value, however after one tour season you might get a bit bored.

Bad Points: Even in tour mode the game is very easy and offers very little challenge to serious Tiger Woods gamers.
No online play in Europe for Xbox owners!

General comments: Tiger Woods PGA 2005 offers a few extra gameplay additions over the 2004 edition. Such as the ability to 'tiger proof' courses by making greens faster and bunkers deeper. You also have the ability to take on the golfing legends in legend persuit, such as Hogan, Palmer etc and the slightly improved Gameface 2 engine which allows users to create their own golfer from scratch.

The gameplay itself is very similar to 2004, you have to play against characters in order to earn money so that you can upgrade your players attributes, and purchase new equipment. If you are the type of gamer who is impressed with the latest golf clubs, balls and apparal you will love the new items available in TW05.

The PGATour mode makes its return in TW05 with the addition of a number of new events including a few where you actually have to play on your own tiger proofed course, depending upon your courses prestige rating.

I have owned every edition of Tiger Woods since 2000 on different platforms. There is no doubt that it is the best golf game available today. However if you are a real fan of the Tiger Woods series you will feel a little let down over the lack of serious gameplay developments in TW2005.

When you strip away the Tiger Proofing option and Hall of Legends you are basically getting an updated version of TW2004. If you can wait, then I recommend holding on for TW2006, but if you can't buy Links 2004.
