Good Points: Everything. This was an amazing trip. I would do it again tomorrow.
Bad Points: The end of the trek is awful, you just don't want it to end.
General comments: I went on Trek America in the summer after working at a summer camp. It was the best trip of my life. Me and some friends from camp went on the Southern Sun trek which goes through all of the Southern states of America, starting in LA and finishing in New York. The trek was 3 weeks long, but I wished it was longer as soon as we finished. We visited the most amazing places, including Las Vegas, The Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Texas, Mexico, Zion NP, Graceland, Washington DC and loads loads more. There were so many places to visit. Unfortunately we were supposed to visit New Orleans the day hurricane Katrina hit, so we could not go, but our trek leader did an amazing job at changing the trek so we still got to see so much. Instead of New Orleans we headed up to Dallas, then across to Graceland which was amazing. I would definitely do a trek again. In fact me and my sister are thinking of booking a 3 week trek for next year called the Northern Trail.
Another highlight of the trek is meeting so many new people. Our group got on so well, and I have made friends for life. I have 4 members of my trek group coming up to visit me this weekend.
It was the best 3 weeks of my life, and I really really miss it. I just wish the trek was 6 weeks instead of 3. When looking at the prices your initial thought is that it is expensive, but it is worth every penny. You're actually amazed, when on the trek, that you manage to visit so much of America on that price.
