Friendly staff, comfortable surroundings and interesting varied menu. Exactly what we wanted as great start to our touring holiday in Scotland. Wish we were staying longer to sample more.

I had the delight of visiting and staying in the East Neuk of Fife at the Waterfront Anstruther . Upon arrival i found the staff very friendly and the room we were booked for was simply beautiful, First night we dined at the resturant and the food was fantastic service was quick and friendly. Second night we opted for the Waterfront chip shop, even though it was a busy evening the staff were very quick in taking our order and the end result was delicious. I would highly recommend anyone visiting ...- Read Guest's review (103 words)

My partner and I ordered a " Haddock High tea" from The Waterfront'
The meal was with chips, well cooked and complimented with a fresh mixed salad with a " homemade coleslaw " I do not normally eat coleslaw this was well flavoured tastey and I enjoyed it.
The Scones, Pancake, Cakes and Strawberry Jam was all homemade.
A great High Tea and Value For Money- Read Guest's review (63 words)

After being served 4 drinks at The Waterfront, Anstruther one of them alcohol, we then asked for 2 meals to share as we were having a big evening time meal back in Elgin. We were told, seemingly rudely, that the person with alcohol had to have their own meal after being told we could share. We still had two meals and when I helped myself to a chip off my husbands plate I was told I couldn't do that because he had alcohol and had to eat it all himself. We only wanted a snack so if he asked for a ...- Read Guest's review (180 words)

Outstanding room, beautifully modern and clean with all you need and lots of space. Brilliant food - the breakfasts were terrific, especially the sausages and eggs, and the meal at night was superb, especially the red mullet. The staff were cheerful, efficient, couldn't do enough for you, very attentive. Location wise, you're ten steps from the harbour, and although you don't have a sea view from the room, you're far enough back from the street to escape any tourist noise etc, so that's another ...- Read mikecullen's review (122 words)

I reserved a single room at the Waterfront for one night in May, and was charged twice for it, once on my debit card and again on my credit card. When I wrote to request a refund, they said that I had reserved for two nights and had left without cancelling the second. I did not book a second night. I wrote to this effect and have received neither letter nor refund as of yet.- Read Guest's review (158 words)

Good food & good service but this restaurant won't get much custom from folk who need to drive as this is an absolute rip-off for the price of these soft drinks. These individual prices are not made known to you until you actually receive your bill!
Don't buy the soft drinks stick to the free jugs of water...- Read TamB1's review (87 words)

If you are looking for a hot meal in a nice surrounding then the waterfront will accommodate but so will other establishments in the area. If you are a foodie who cares about what you put in your mouth and what you pay for , stay away.Anstruther is a beautiful place and I love visiting when I can but it dose need a good restaurant.- Read Anton Ego's review (145 words)

We had travelled some distance to get to Anstruther and weren't prepared to wait in the massive queue at the Anstruther Fish Bar (which we probably should have done) for our fish and chips. The fish and chips were nothing special but the service was awful - our waitress was quite rude when we asked for water with our meal and enquired why we were taking so long to be served (40 mins). It might have been an off day here but we did eventually get into the Anstruther Fish Bar later in the week an ...- Read jennydougal's review (165 words)

Sitting on Anstruthers Marina, this small restaurant offers the best of local seafood at great value.
The Waterfront restaurant offers a wide range of dishes to choose from but you can't come here and not have the seafood.
I started with a large plate of queen scallops, marinated in garlic and chilli followed by a beautifully cooked fillet of red snapper.
"Battered haddock and chips" must have been a well known speciality judging from the number that went past.
I would recommend this to an ...- Read depeden's review (103 words and 3 comments)
