Group of 6 on the first day of a 4 night stay in Derbyshire. The fish within the "cod" must have once seen the sea, but that was probably many years ago. It was a congealed mess of frozen white stuff within a hard and inedible batter coating. The vegetables were slightly better although tasteless. One person had the sweet and sour pork which was very dry. Best keep to the beer as that was excellent. Keep away from the menu… Read Full Review

This was our second visit. Our friend and neighbour had recommended it and we weren't disappointed. It is a lovely pub. All of the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is excellent and there is plenty of it! We weren't rushed and it was a very relaxed meal… Read Full Review

A cosy, typically british pub with friendly owners, staff and locals alike. The food is brilliant - homemade pies, AMAZING roast beef and desserts such as [the infamous] jamaican rum trifle are all served with a smile at fantastic prices! Having been to a few parties hosted at the Butchers Arms, the buffet provided is also fantastic, and as the pub is so friendly and welcoming, any party hosted here is sure to be a lively, friendly event! The pub has had a makeover recently, which has given it… Read Full Review

We've been going to the Butchers Arms for several years now - we wouldn't keep going back if we didn't like it. It's good home cooking at a reasonable price. Not the place for a really special night out but you won't get the microwaved rubbish that you do in some places. Good tasty grub at a reasonable price… Read Full Review

Great little pub, so good infact that we keep going back regularly.
Most of the food is home cooked and most are under £6.00, not bad seeing as you get loads.
Usually to full to eat a dessert but when we do they are also very nice.
Both the chef and the barman are briliant.
Our only recomendation would be to do up the decor.
Well worth a visit… Read Full Review

Overall The Butchers Arms is a great place to be. Often has pensioners in at lunchtimes so it must be good! Walking parties often stop of here but I think they appreciate a call before large parties arrive to help cater. Don't be put of either by the welcome you get from the fellow behind the bar. Can appear a little cool towards customers at first but he really is good at the job and very friendly in reality. The chef has a lively approach to customers and always tries to please and will… Read Full Review

The Butchers Arms is a little pub run by Keith and Andrew (who is the chef)all the food is home made and cooked especially for you when you order it, it arrives beautifully presented. The choice of menu is superb. Once a month they have a "free" night where the food is free they have had themes such as American night, curry night, pie and pea supper night and many more. All you have to pay for is the drinks, once you visit here you will want to return again and again and will be made most… Read Full Review
