bought a hoover hurricane in march, i've had to replace 2 belt's, the power brush attachment only worked once, the height adjustment broke, the attachment holder's broke off and the lock to keep it upright broke after 3 month's. all in all a cheap and nasty product, being sold by what i thought was a name you could trust, but it turn's out you can't. wouldn't have another hoover product if it was free.

Bought what we thought was going to be a good vaccuum cleaner, the Hoover hurricane, it was reasonably small and compact, didn't have to worry about buying bags for it as over time bags can become quite expensive therefore we thought we would save money, yeah well phooey!!! we only have carpet in 3 small rooms in our house which is rarely used, I vaccuum only once per month for a deep clean, the rest of the house is swept then mopped. I go to use this lemon and find no suction.....mind you it h ...

The 2000w suction was the main reason I bought the Hurricane and the fact that it's by Hoover. Obviously trying to keep the cost down and choosing a reputable product was also a key issue. Everything about it is excellent apart from the cord, definitely too short.

Bought the Hoover Hurricane Extra and got to say nothing but disappointed. Within 1 week of buying it lost its suction when using as upright. Then it started leaving what i call tracks of fluff etc when you hoovered. Last than a month now and the only way it will hoover things up is to go down on your knees with the hose.Waste of money, didnt contact them decide to get flooring instead

Bought Hoover Hurricane Extra October 2008, fan belt has broken twice! Little satisfaction from Currys who say it is a 'consumable part' and not covered under guarantee.Amy trying to get a refund, certainly do not recommend buying this model.

Like many people on here, i purchased this vac, purely based on Hoover's reputation, a promise of ease of use and good glossy looks. Over a period of 14 months it gradually became noisy, then it simply cut out. So I contacted HOOVER, who were not interested as the 12 months were up, so after having a shout at them, I hung up the phone.
I then called and asked what the problem could be, where I was told that the belts must be replaced after 12 months, they were slipping and must be replaced. ...

As with previous review, our Hoover Hurricane has lasted 2 years and I am replacing it with a Miele. This is not the first time it has broken and I can't even be bothered to get it fixed as it is rubbish. The foot release has broken so the Hoover won't stay upright and this has affected the suction. Every time it's fixed it costs over £40. DO NOT BUY.

I bought the Hoover Hurricane Extra Vacuum Cleaner, because it had no bags or filters, and had a very powerful motor. I was initially very pleased with it, although it was irritating to have to take it to pieces to thoroughly empty it out, and I felt that there was some design flaw here. However, after around 14 months (just outside the one year guarantee), it became incredibly noisy, and after a strip down, it became obvious that something inside was not right. I did not bother to contact h ...

The Hoover Hurricane Extra is the second model we owned in this range of vacuum cleaners after the first one had a motor failure after 2 years. That should have been a warning sign. This model is now failing to pick up after ... 2years.

It's a relief as we have never been absolutley happy with it and look forward to getting something different. On the surface it looks good, comes with all the right tools, is easy to empty and has the powerful suction you expect from a 1700W motor.
