Designed by a narcissistic scientific cabbage who probably spent his childhood playing too much buckaroo or playing with Lego? Disadvantages: Unless hoovering the floor the accessories and pipes take so long to put together. The brush/nozzle head collapses when used. The handle detaches to double as extension tube but leaks air where it extends. When detaching parts to assemble hose parts other parts spring off like in Buckaroo if you overload the donkey. I expect the extending parts will get weak soon and if I return it I will probably have to wait weeks while they find someone who can work out if something is wrong or I have assembled something incorrectly. Advantages: I expect it to vacuum as good as the Hoover Blaze I had which was the only cleaner I could find that left the air clean enough for my asthmatic partner.

Bought the new Hurricane HP2305 July 1213. Within a couple of weeks the drive belt had broken.( We are now on our third belt) Changing the belt is fiddly too many screws; old Fashioned in it's design. The previous vacuum's belt only had to be changed once in the 8 years that we had it. Two months on, the handle catch broke off. A replacement with a much better quality handle. The new handle has a height adjustment feature which is a better idea. The cable is positioned at floor level. It is also quite short which means unplugging more frequently. There is a small hook at top of the handle in which to press in the cable but this reduces the length even more. A longer cable from top of handle would better serve the user. There are five cleaning positions on the selector. The selector is difficult to move. The cleaning positions are difficult to read. It involves quite a bit of bending (Bending is not one of our strong points!!) The plastic nozzle is a alright but the little brush on the end is more than useless as it easily moves when in use. The machine is very noisy!! Easy to empty but dirty collects in all the cavities. Made in China!!??

There are really no elements that I actually like about this hoover with the exception of the bagless bit. It's so noisy it gives me headache and I can't count the number of times it has hit my legs or fallen over because the nozzle does not have any 'give'. I contacted Hoover about the noise and the nozzle but got an incomprehensible reply much along the lines of, you want it lightweight, it will be noisy. This hoover is no doubt a serious accident waiting to happen - those buying because it is lightweight could end up at the bottom of the stairs if they try and extend the hose and the hoover topples onto them. I would have liked to know that this was a really loud machine and the hose does not extend in the way advertised.

This vacuum cleaner is a design disaster! Here's why..... *The vacuum is so light and the suction so powerful when using the hose, that the vacuum constantly topples over. *The flex is far too short to vac even a whole bedroom. *The flex runs from the base of the vacuum so it's easy to run over it and chew up. *The flex holder is far too small to hold it properly. *The only tool, a brush, constantly falls off its holder. *The dust cylinder is so small that it needs emptying after every vac. *When you do empty the cylinder , the release button is next to the flap so the contents spill all over your hand. STEER CLEAR! I wish I'd read these reviews before wasting my money.

Suction is the only good thing i can say about this hoover but the strong suction pulls the machine on its back. Cable far to short to do a room without changing sockets. machine is far to light.

Run. Do not buy this Hoover. Get a dust pan and brush. The handle broke on week 1, suction gave up in month 2. Clumsy, badly engineered and just awful. Jog on.

It has great suction, that's it's only plus point. Annoying - The heat it gives out is incredible it is more like a massive hair dryer and so noisy I have thought of ear defenders. The thing tips over all the time if you dare to use the hose and hits you or worse in my case the TV. It has sucked the cable up and partially set on fire after blowing the house fuses. The pet hair attachment is broken and so is the belt after six weeks of light use it is going to the tip, there is no point of repairing such an awful item.

well i never have had such a rubbish cleaner in all my life ,after 2 weeks the turbo brush has died ,always loads of stuff left on the floor after cleaning ,pipe does not stretch all the way up stairs as it promises so have to lug heavy unit up the stairs and do a strange balancing act which could be quite dangerous lead is fitted in the wrong place so it is always getting in the way i really wish i had found this site before i bought the heap of junk

Worst vacumn cleaner I have ever come across and I work as a cleaning lady too. Didn't get on with it right from the start, flex unwieldy, on hard floors it just chewed up and spat out again. Been through 4 belts, taking it down the tip this weekend.

Although I have had no problems with the belts or the pet hair tool breaking, there was always a lot of movement in the handle and the clip eventually wore away. The flex is far to short. On the plus side, the suction was incredible if you kept the fiters clean, far better than any dyson I had used. Just a shame about the design fault. I bought mine through direct vacuums who refunded the cost so no blame attached to them

I HAVE BROKEN TWO BELTS,THE PET BRUSH IS A COMPLETE JOKE,THE HOOVER IS HEAVY AND THE FLEX FAR TO SHORT OH AND SOUNDS LIKE EURO FIGHTER ON FULL THRUST............. WILL BE BUYING ANOTHER HOOVER

i was bought this hoover as a christmas present not even two weeks ago. the hoover belt has snapped twice, i have only used it three times. when it comes to replacing the belt it near impossible to find hoover parts in the shops. the over all look of the product is good but not a patch on my electrilux. and after reading the reviews on this site, it seems things will only get worse

THis is such a bad vacuum cleaner, we have used 3 belts in 6 weeks....simply by catching the edge of a rug!!
How can Hoover create a vacuum with such a short flex and a flex which comes out at the bottom, so you run over it if you are not very careful.
Also the belt design is a nonsense as is the dark red plastic dust holder, impossible to see when full.
A complete waste of money.....and I haven't mentioned the jet engine noise leve!!!!!. DON'T BUY THIS!!!!
We are returning to Dyson.

Bought this about 18 mnths ago via Tesco. Pet hair brush worked a couple times then failed....so did the replacement. The small brush attachment is a joke and the person who designed it has hopefully changed their career path. Also the attachments are oval so that you cannot use rounded attachments ......well you can if you take the tube fitting of an old vac. What a pile off rubbish....hoover should refund everybody whom purchased this product

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!
Bought in May 2010 and by the end of July it had broken down twice. Two broken belts later and a number of conversations with a terribly rude 'customer services' team I have had enough and will never buy a Hoover product again. This Hoover is not fit for purpose after only a couple of uses. I was told the reason it broke was because "I had probably hoovered something up with it." DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT.

A nightmare to use. Still works (well, if you can call it that), but I am ditching it for something else. And yes, wish I'd known about this site before I bought. Know next time!
