Good Points: Good size pool, plenty of sun beds at time we went.

Bad Points: Public areas were not cleaned, rubbish left for days. Flies were everywhere, including the restaurant. Poor selection of food. Hairdryer in room repaired twice, still didn't work.

General comments: Seemed to be plenty of staff around, but they need to be motivated to keep the place clean and to replenish the crockery in the restaurant.

I was very worried about staying at this hotel after reading the reviews on this site. We arrived at the airport and were put in a taxi with another couple, who had also read the reports, we all joked about sharing a room! We arrived at the hotel around 1 in the morning. The outside looked okay, we went inside, the reception staff were very friendly and it DIDN'T smell of urine!
We went up to our room, very surprised at how big it was, the room was very clean! In the morning we went to inspect ...

Both these hotels need to be shut down for a complete refurbishment, help is definitely needed for the hotel restaurants. I would never stay at the San Anton hotels again and would not recommend them to anyone.

The best thing for this hotel is to be closed and refurbished. In 30 years of travelling abroad this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. We had booked San Anton but a crane head swung over our balcony at 7am in the morning. We were moved to Santa Maria where we were stayed with about 100 children. It was noisy and very dirty. I just cannot understand how this hotel gets a 3 star rating. Very disappointing.

Had a really good time at the San Anton Complex, Malta. I met some really nice people! The complex is in good proximity to the town of Buguba.

Absolutely fantastic. Everywhere is clean if you stay in the self catering apartments. Very nice hotel with exceptionally friendly staff. I was worried about arriving there after reading some of the reviews but was overly surprised when I got there to see how nice it was.
I would certainly not pull this hotel down, I would praise it for its standards and service. Very trustable and well worth the money. Returning back at Christmas and staying there again most definitely.
Thank you for such a ...

We had a great time at the Club Anton Complex in Malta. The entertainment was good, and there was also entertainment in other hotels around the complex, or even the local pubs. Some nights we were spoilt for choice as there was so much going on.

The staff at the San Anton Complex in Malta were always helpful. The food in the restaurant was plentiful and tasty. The area was marvellous for exploring. Try using the local buses. They are cheap and very regular, just hold on tight.

The rooms are tired and in need of redecoration, and they would benefit greatly from having air conditioning in them. The lifts in one of the blocks was temperamental, and I got stuck in it one night, but this is generally a good place to stay.

I've just had a great holiday at the San Anton Complex in Malta, and for the price I paid, I can not complain. San Anton has plenty to do for all ages. There is a nice safe pool for the under 5's, a play area, a kids club and a television room. The restaurant is of a high standard, offering a good variety. It was well staffed, and the tables are laid very well. You must try different things to appreciate the taste and quality of the food. The veg and chips are not great, but the main dish is usu ...

San Anton Complex was filthy and looked like it hadn't been cleaned for weeks if not months.

The toilet in our room was filthy (tiles broken ,bath is stained with rusty water). There were blood stains in the bedroom walls and other strange stains. There were cigarette marks on the bed sheets. The ceiling fan was hanging by electric wires and very noisey when switched on.

The standrad of the hotel should be 1 star and mainly because it's a very dirty hotel .

We arrived on 26th July at midnight, check in was fairly straight forward, although we spent ages trying to find our room (we were in a 1 bed apt, and the doors are tucked through a gangway, and trying to find this at night was not very easy), eventually one of the management came to our aid!

Got into our room. It appeared fine. We unpacked a few bits and settled into bed. The ceiling fan in the bedroom was very noisy & VERY wobbly - didn't know whether to use it or not, as we thought it w ...

Good value for money. Staff mostly very polite, god help you if you ordered food at the pool bar, and weren't about to pick up your order as soon as it was produced at the counter. Beware!!

An extremely well run Hotel. It is a credit to the management, who ensure first class care, and welfare of the guests. This Hotel deserves a rating upgrade, as it surpasses many hotels of a higher star rating, that I have stayed in. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, together with its sister hotel, St. Maria.

Having visited Malta before with our 5 & 2 year old, we chose the San Anton Complex as a bit of a change and that it was!
The balconies above our room were being re built and as the workmen chipped away at the masonry, pieces of it fell onto our balcony and the surrounding children's playground.

The food was dire, catering was for the Joe Bloggs English and children's choices were with chips and beans (???). There was not a piece of fruit in the hotel and veg was tinned and cooked to death.

On the whole I found San Anton Complex a very good and welcoming resort. I found a very nice little bar around the corner called Jesters which I recommend you visit. We enjoyed our stay very much and are planning to go again at some point.

I booked to stay at the San Anton Complex for myself, husband, 2yr old daughter and my parents, and wondered if I had chosen the right place to stay after reading some reviews, but once we were settled in we had the most fantastic time at the San Anton. the food catered for everyone, even our daughter, and was always hot and tasty. our rooms were cleaned thoroughly everyday, and because we had a small child the cleaning lady gave us an extra key to keep the fan on, so our room was always cool. l ...

I stayed in the San Anton in early July with my three sons. I really can't fault the place and would definitely go back, although on a self-catering basis next time. It was our first time in Malta and we'd been warned about the heat and also knew that the hotel wasn't air conditioned. However, you get what you pay for and our holiday was relatively cheap by most package holiday standards. The hotel restaurant was fine, although the choice of meals was a little limited, but my sons loved the f ...

We stayed at the San Anton in August 2004. It was far too hot. The entertainment was a disgrace (unless you like social clubs and bingo) there was rubbish turns every night. The food was horrible and sometimes not cooked properly. There was hardly any choice for kids. However, in Buggiba, a few mins along the road, there were lots of nice restraints and shops. The town Valetta is nice too but that's quite far away. There are lots of trips to go on, like Sicily or Gozo or Blue Lagoon.

2003-This was our first visit to Malta and as a young couple, felt the San Anton Hotel catered to our needs. Well located near shops, bars and the seafront, but away from main roads and nightclubs it was a great place to stay for people who wanted to relax and enjoy themselves without having to be kept awake 'til 5am by the night environment. The room was spacious and clean, though the view from the balcony was not ideal. Food was delicious and staying there, we were given the option of also din ...
