Currently worth about 50 pounds, so it's cheap and cool. If you stick in a 1gb MMC card into it , you can hold something around 2 hours of video, 8 hours of mp3 music 5-6 n-gage designed, cool and fun 3D-games, 10-20 Java games, LOADS of photos, some applets (guitar tuner, mathematical graph plotter, image editor, skype) AT ONCE, while still listening to the radio, and calling your friends. What else do you need in your pocket?! (read more)

I was crazy on the Nokia N-Gage, because of its amazing features, and I still think they are cool. Whoever likes it for games and mp3s goes ahead and buys it, it has amazing graphics and incredible sound, but the size will eventually annoy you and you will miss a camera on it as much as the infrared (even thought it has blootooth). After a year, when you start getting out of the stage of games, it starts to annoy you. However the graphics are amazing, and it has great features so if you are... (read more)

The N-gage is an incredible piece of kit, the battery life is good if you do not use the games and MP3 player, obviously these are high power functions and will drain the battery, I have a spare battery from ebay, which was cheap. Charge time is quick. I have a 1gb mmc card which holds hours of MP3, games and movies, instalable software makes it very powerful, smart movie knocks socks of the standard real player. The symbian 60 operating system is excellent. (read more)

I got my n-gage about 2 weeks ago and in that period I have had to replace it 3 times. My first one which I bought from Orange and it lasted about 1 and a half weeks and then the radio stopped working so I phoned Orange and got a replacement which was delivered the next day and that one did not work either so I phoned Orange again and I am getting another replacement. The features on this phone are great such as the mp3 player and the radio and the recorder and real one player. All of these... (read more)

I saw my friend carrying it and I thought it was really good but now it's just boring. It's got quite a few good stuff but it doesn't even have a camera on it.
Anyway I sold it on ebay for £100 and got a Sagem MYX-6 instead which was a lot better!

OMG - YOU DON'T HAVE TO SIDETALK!!! Now that's out the way, the only thing missing from the Nokia N-Gage mobile phone is a camera really. Brilliant, fast, versatile and amazingly cheap now. Why wouldn't you buy one? You don't have to sidetalk! (read more)

The Nokia N-Gage: Terrific device, useless mobile phone.
The above might seem a harsh judgement at first, but it is accurate and should not be seen as condemning the N-Gage entirely (I am actually quite happy with mine). As a device for information and entertainment, the N-Gage is superb: It's Symbian software platform offers excellent PDA functionality (very usable through the decent screen and numeric keypad), wireless synchronisation with your PC diary, contact and tasks lists, an...

I have only had my Nokia N-Gage mobile phone for one day, but I am already a convert! I thought that there may be a downside to having this phone, becasue there was so much in it's favour, but I was wrong. The only minus point I can think of is the alarm clock doesn't make a noise, it just vibrates. But that's not a major problem.
I had a Nokia 8310 before, compared to the N-Gage that was so old fashioned, it makes you wonder how you ever managed with it!
Now I look forward to those...

I fell in love with this Nokia N-Gage mobile phone the minute I saw it. I was attracted to the gaming, the software, the appearence and the mp3 player. Soon after buying it, I started to loathe the phone's size and weak battery life. The ringtones weren't that good and there were so many annoying bits to it - i.e. the screensaver you can't turn off. The WAP is very difficult to set up and the games cost £35.00 a time, which to be honest, isn't worth it. The mp3 player only holds 2 songs and... (read more)

I have had this Nokia N-Gage mobile phone for 2 months, and it was great fun at first. But after awhile, the games get boring, and the shape just irritates you, worst of all you can txt with one hand, you need to be constantly holding the thing. It's got all the cool applications you would want in a phone except it doesn't have a camera. If you really care about the size of the phone, don't buy the n-gage. (read more)

Before I bought it, I already expected it to have an MP3 Player, Radio, Games, Real Player...etc. All these entertainment features. However, it strikes me that it can also have Microsoft Outlook Synchronization (Contact, Calender) which is similar to my Palm! I can also install many extra Symbian softwares, such as a Bible, eBook Reader, Photo Album Software.......etc. It is really a "Smart" Phone! Far better than I expected. The drawbacks are its power consumption and its size! (read more)

It's true that this Nokia N-Gage mobile phone has many good features, but there are also many significant drawbacks. The size of it being the main one, when you put that together with the awkward talking position it makes it impossible to use as a mobile when you're out and about. The other HUGE drawback is the weak weak weak battery life, you really would be lucky if the battery lasted 24 hours - very annoying. The phone would be so much better if it had a camera like the 6600. Yes, the... (read more)

I had a difficult decision to make, the Nokia 7259i or the Nokia N-Gage - ive read tons of reviews on each half and considered the N-gage to be the mobile phone for me, built in mp3 (with loudspeaker!) built in radio, internet browser and the games/sound are great.
The radio quality is great for me, but i'd like the keypad noises to be abit louder.. and as far as im concerned the way you hold the phone to talk into doesnt bother me, its small so no-one could notice, however i got a...

The Nokia N-Gage has caused controversy all over the world. Many people believe it's Nokia putting itself out on a limb to create something new, something outstanding. Something that will get gamers all over the world begging for one. From my personal experience I can safely say it hasn't done that. The N-Gage does have all the features you could shake a stick at, but are they worth the investment? I think so.

This phone really is a hand held console, mp3 and music player, pc storage and mobile phone all rolled into one. Mobile phones do not get much better than this, and hopefully this phone will do well so there will be bigger and better gaming decks made.

I bought a Nokia N-Gage to replace my very nice Samsung T100 colour/polyphonic phone, which was 100% superb.
So far I have installed Opera, and it browses the 'Net very well for it's size.
Music features are handy, and with an upgraded 128mb memory card, it stores nearly 2 CD's worth of anything you want it to! (Great for transferring files between PCs, or playing MP3s on the inbuilt player.
The games thing is handy for times when you are bored, but not why I bought it...

When the Nokia N-gage mobile phone/game system came out it looked good but I wasn't so sure about how it would play, when I did it turned out it was as good as a gameboy advance and to that extent any other major competition on the market. My phone operator sent me my Nokia N-Gage about two weeks ago now and I have to say that I am very pleased with the handset in a number of ways.
First of all, as far as value for money is concerned, my phone operator gave me the handset for free based on a twelve month contract. Of course the N-Gage is expensive out of contract, but so are the majority of mobile phones which are new to the market. In my opinion the vast majority of these handsets will be bought in the same way, thus...

Worth adding that there are some AMAZING full screen java games for it. Much better then typical phone games even if you dont invest in the card games (which are of course much better overall). Polyphonic ringtones are MIDI based and freely available. No predictive text on the sms though.

Ok...I've only had this phone for a day but here is my low down so far.
Inserting the Sim and battery was a piece of cake. The removal back comes off with ease unlike my old Nokia 3310 which has seen the end of a screwdriver many a time... in fact, so easy it does concern me that it may come off in my pocket. BUT.. if you wish to change the MMC card to put in a different game or put your mp3 card in you have to remove the battery to do this. Why, I don't know. The screen is very well lit...

ok... had phone for 2 weeks now. Great little thing it is. Took some time to get used to knowing which end of the phone to speak into. The internet browser is good although it took a while to get myself connected. You have to setup up the connection settings yourself or go to the nokia n gage website and download the configurations which will get sent straight to your phone. Sending audio and video files as well as images to your phone is a snap thanks to the usb lead you get. When your plug your phone into your PC a new drive pops up and the its just a case of clicking and dragging the files.
<br>One flaw I have spotted is when it comes to unlocking your keypad. Like the nokia 3310 you have to press the select button and then the star button which will the lock or unlock your keypad but when it comes to unlocking it, as soon as you press the select button the phone informs you that the keypad is locked and that you have to unlock it by pressing select then star.... which, basically means you have to press select twice.... THEN star.
<br>Top piece of kit though.

Had a go on the Nokia N-Gage at the trafford centre and i was impressed. The screen is quite small but the quality of the graphics looked impressive. The phone itself was a little bulky but it seemed to have all of the features that you would look for nowadays (-colour screen, mms, polyphonic ringtones, fm radio, bluetooth, wap, triband, an MP3 and AAC player) The bluetooth technology sounds good too apparently you will be able to link your N-Gage together with other N-Gage's and play... Totally agree with you views. How well the N-Gage is supported is a big question. Also the price, which market is Nokia targetting??? At the current price I would say "no-one" other than gadget freak. Anyway, personally I wouldn't get one because I think game on the move is only really for kids at the back of a car and I would personally go for a GBA SP instead. Anyway, I liked your non bias review. BTW, I went on a demo one myself and i think it was ok in terms of a toy, not a phone.
