    Good Points: Nice clean spacious room. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food. Nice beach.


    Bad Points: Large swimming pool let down by salt water. Not much entertainment in the evening


    General comments: We really liked this hotel from the moment we entered our room. Nice, clean and spacious with 2 balcony areas. The staff were nice and friendly and appreciated us trying out a bit of Greek.
    The food was fine, lets face it, food is a personal thing and in my opinion the choice was wide if not a little repetitive. I enjoyed every meal at this hotel. Wasn't that impressed with the Italian as there didn't appear to be much choice on offer.
    We preferred the beach as the pool was salt water and my kids complained it stung their eyes more than chlorine pools.
    Beware of the rocky areas around the shore its easy to stub your toe as I found out a number of times. A lovely beach though very calm water. All inclusive covers the use of pedalos and canoes with other water sports available at a charge.
    We visited Kardamena for some shopping which takes about 5-10 mins by bus/taxi. The bus service is a bit odd as they don't run between 10.45 and 14.45, so if you find yourself wanting to return during this period you have to get a taxi or walk if you are mad enough to try.
    Evening entertainment starts at 21.00 with a kids disco in the theatre with a show starting at 21.45 until around 23.00 and that's it really apart from a weekly Greek evening near the pool.
    Shows were mainly music and dance with a comedy show on one of the nights. Ideal for people wanting a relaxing holiday in the sun.
    Not recommended for young people wanting a lively holiday

    Portobello Beach Hotel is a lovely hotel with a lovely beach. The beach bar is the best but there is no music or entertainment. Food I don't recommend at all. If you go book the Italian most nights it is the best but it gets full quick. You have to book at the reception at 9 o'clock every morning for the following day.
    The beach is lovely. Bus service into Kardamena run by the hotel finishes at 9.15 pm. thats the last bus into town. If you get the public bus it is 1.60 euros each, so it's actual ...

    Poor customer service and lack of entertainment at the Portobello Beach Hotel in Kardamena. The kids were bored. The sports equipment, such as tennis and table tennis rackets were held together with gaffer tape, and the tennis balls had holes in them (only 2 tennis rackets for 2 courts). Only 2 English speaking TV channels (news orientated), and mostly German and Italian channels available.     Everything at Portobello Beach Hotel was good, free travel, food, staff brilliant-helpful & polite, rooms so clean, lot's of things to do. Water sports team excellent, friendly and helpful. Great location, not far from town.
    The sand is very hot. Not many people speak English.

    Portobello Beach Hotel:
    Guests are allowed to put towels on chairs, and go of for the day.
    There are three resaurants Italian Greek and asian, We never used asian but the italian and greek were not up to much infact nothing like italian food,
    Entertainment is very poor if you were there longer than a week you would be very bored.

    This is the 3rd time in KOS this was the worst experience. KOS is a great island to stay and easily reachable by direct flight.
    The Portobello Beach Hotel structure is nice, and well located (very close to the beach).
    But the Portobello Beach is not well managed: to get a place on the beach you have to wake up at 7:00 am.
    The same to choose one of the Restaurant. If you get there after 8:00 am no place on the beach, or swimming pool or at the optional Restaurant.
    Watch out for the big beetle ...
