Prints received were poor quality and the cropping wasn't correct resulting in parts of the main picture cut off. Also over charged - They had an offer advertised for free upgrade size prints (no small print) but on another advert small print states when you select the 7x5 size! An email sent to customer service was ignored too. There customer service is appalling; very rude woman spoke to me, she had no customer service/people skills. She raised her voice and wouldn't let me speak. Most... (read more)

The Photo Machines in Asda seem to crop every photo that is printed. This means that tops of heads are chopped off on a number of occassions. This is despite the review of each photo being complete. In fairness Asda gave me a refund and the photos for free when I pointed out the problem to them, but I would advise you take any photo printing requests to somewhere else if you want an exact copy of the photo you've taken. That somewhere else shouldn't be Tesco though as they seem to use the... (read more)

I started a photo book on the asda website. Part way through the website has changed, and all my hard work lost On the new website I tried to create a new book, but not only do I have to start from scratch, but there is only the option to put photos into your book from external websites (e.g. twitter, flikr); I can't add the photos which I've uploaded to Asda's website....utter madness! I started afresh, uploaded all of my photos again, but now I can't delete any photos from the book, or... (read more)

Paid for colour processing and pics on disc. 6 of the individual negatives had been cut through 'to fit in the machine'(no appology for this). Pictures on disc were half frames despite all the negatives being complete (except the cut through ones). Asda photo assistant no 1 was very insistant there was something wrong with the negatives despite me showing them 3 times that they were fine. I asked if the negatives could be realligned and put on disc again but told the machine would not do... (read more)

ASDA Thurmastons film and print service review.
I use ASDA's photo service ritually most weeks for developing film and then having the images put onto a CD (only for reference, more on this later). As an amateur creative photographer I like to use ASDA in Thurmaston because I have got to know the people who work their very well and the price and effort to process film at home is to much hassle.
However, their are some draw backs. I go by you get what you pay for a lot and this is no...

Wanted my prints made at ASDA superstore Wigan and the machine wiped my memory card, the staff were very unhelpful blaming me and saying that the card was faulty, but the images had come up on the screen but when I tryed to order them the machines crashed. After asking to see a manager they suggested I contact Fuji who make the machine but I said they should contact them! Eventually they said they would contact the photo manager who would contact me but that was over three weeks ago and so I... (read more)

Great level of service from Asda, I purchased some mens shoes for my husband and they saved me £10 on the price in a similair store. I have always used Asda for my main shopping, as they offer great Customer Service before and after your buy from them. Most corner shops dont offer this level of committment on purchases. The shoes were great quality and I know that if anything goess wrong, i can take them back. (read more)

I had 200 prints developed on the 1 hour service in the photo department at the pudsey store today and i was very pleased with not only the quality of my prints but the excellent service of the lady that served me. as it was my first time using the machine, she helped me throughout although she was busy. Not only was i pleased with the prints i ordered, there was an offer on, so i was able to get 5x7 size for the same price as the 6x4. Well done asda. (read more)

Have used Asda before for the odd print for a frame or present because it is instant and cheaper than Boots, I have concluded it is poorer quality and its worth paying 9p extra in Boots for a better print. I am a semi pro, graduate photographer and my prints are properly edited in Photoshop and should print beautifully but on Asda instant booth they come out washed out and lacking detail. So much so I said I didn't want to pay for it and got them to throw it away. In Boots instant booth they... (read more)

We ordered wedding thank you cards from the Asda photo website. The first lot were only dispatched 7 days after order (the website promises 5-7 days from order to delivery) - however, they didn't turn up! They made us wait a week and then offered to re-do the order. Again, dispatch took 7 days and when they finally arrived, 4 days later, the print quality was very poor, colour saturation made the image really dark and they were very worn around the edges. Plus, the carton was graffitied on... (read more)

The quality of the paper and the print is excellent at asda but they are far too dark, I would say around 4 stops worth which is a HUGE amount. I've never seen it so bad anywhere else. It's annoying that I spend ages in Photoshop colouring my photos, only for them to come out completely different. They need to provide colour profiles for us to use.
Other than that the service was pretty quick and staff were fairly friendly but it is not enough to make up for so way out colours.
Avoid...

The machines that do s/d and c/d photos in my local store are switched off at 3pm on sunday afternoon but the photo shop stays open till 4pm. I wanted a two day service at 3.05pm and they said the one hour service could not be done. So why not put a notice on the screen saying this instead of wasting my time driving 12 miles after making a phone call and being told the photo service was open till 4pm. I think they should train their staff to say 3pm for one hour service stops. (read more)

I have used ASDA twice now for developing and printing of my colour 35MM film and both times the colour saturation was way too high giving the prints a dark look. I have had my films developed at other companies and never had this problem before so I can only assume it is poor work by the operatives.
The resolution on the CD is poor, enlarging from the CD on a PC results in pixellation.
Might be an idea to just use ASDA to develop the film and get your selected prints done elsewhere or scan...

I am a graphic designer and would never get my films processed on Fujifilm at Asda again. I felt the colour levels were over the top making pictures look too dark or bleached out (I have a good 35mm film camera!).
When I loaded the CD I was amazed at how poor the image quality seemed.

I placed an order on asda photo's website for a poster and 2 prints. These were for an anniversary. Nothing arrived after a week and a half. I tried emailing them about it but it just bounced back. I phoned them up. They had no details of my order on their system. I was told to reorder. Nothing. I was told to upload the photo again and reorder. Nothing. I used Asda to get some enlargements of pictures I was planning to frame. They certainly were quick and one of the cheapest providers I could find. As they use Fuji, I was pretty confident as I've had Fuji products before.
Unfortunately, although the print quality is good, the colour management is very poor. They don't provide an ICC profile either, so the colour and contrast you see on our screen is seldom what is printed.
I couldn't frame the pictures due to the severe colour difference,...

The equipment and the paper quality (Fuji crystal archive type II) are good. The variances in print quality however can sometimes be quite drastic. This I've found out is simply dependant on the lab operator(s), who generally have a lot of control over the prints that come into their hands. Which brings me to the Asda Barrow Photo Centre, I've been quite impressed by some of the work there, and it's quite simply because of their main lab operator. And here I'll stop my story. All I can say... (read more)

This is obviously a case of supply and demand. ASDA customers are only going to be asking for 6x4 or 7x5 prints really with a few 8x6 now and again. 10" paper is not used very much on a day to day basis and so is not reordered. Why not try a pro lab instead.

Asda Photo Shop provide great service at a great price. Their labs are found in most of the larger stores and give a 1 hour photo processing service plus a 2 day service so you can actully drop your negatives off and collect them when you have finished your shopping.
The labs have uptodate fuji equipment and carryout various quility checks to ensure your photos are the best possible quality. In addition to 35mm and Aps Processing they provide printing for enlargments, black and white negs,...

Tamworth store is a waist of time. All the main order machines upstairs warn that print file size is too small, even though mine were actually much lager than they needed to be for 9x6. When I asked the staff they said ignore it as all the the machines say the same thing, but prints will be OK. Waited an hour only find the prints were way too dark, so I refused to pay and walked off.
