Good Points: The sights are great.

Bad Points: zI still like my P1 best.

General comments: The Diana P5 Magnum takes out Tree Rats as far out as I trust my aim. A good friend in te field.

I've had this Diana P5 Magnum pistol for four months and fired a tin (500) pellets using RWS Superdome. Absolutely NO problems. At ranges between 75 to 100 feet it will chew holes in a standard drink can. Have tried a few different pellet brands and still need to try some other brands for accuracy. I got my monies worth...so far.

The Diana P5 Magnum is a good shooter, very accurate. Not ambidextrous but it could be if the mfgr did some very minor changes. Great value for price.

You better use the lightest pellets you can find with the Diana P5 Magnum or be satisfied with 565 fps. $ for $ you can do better. I used the velocity meter to check out the fps, maybe I made a mistake the several times I tested - but- I doubt it. My $40.00 Crosman 1008 REPEATAIR isn't powerful but is very accurate with bbs.. don

I received my Diana P5 Magnum and took it out of box . my first shot chronied at 597 FPS with 7.9 gr wadcutters. I have no doubts that this gun WILL reach the 700 fps numbers with pellets in the 6 gr weight area. I wish there were more websites that offered mods for this gun , but this pistol doesn't seem to be very widely owned or experimented on like the 1377c. For $182 shipped, this pistol kicks butt

Diana P5 Magnum seems powerful, is accurate, got it cheap is a return gun from UmarexMine shoots 4 inches high at 10 feet (not 10 meters) . Sights are too high on the gun. Gun had to be returned twice for service, with very few shots in between, like 5 shots. I am keeping it, but frankly if I knew then what I Know now I would not buy. Not recommended. see the wide range of posts QC on this guns varies wildly.

There are definitely better air pistols out there without all of these bad points. I am going to return this one if I cannot get an RWS repair facility to give me a decent pair of sights for it.

Install a 11mm rail for $80, including S&H. This will not void your guarantee. Trust me, this is what this gun needs to make it complete. Me and my Leapers 6X are putting 1/2" groups at 15 yards with JSB Exact 8.4g, but you have to do some testing. Your hold should be "artirelly style", to allow the natural recoil of the pistol, otherwise you will complaint that it is not accurate. Sandbagging won't allow for recoil. Any springer works like this, even rifles.

I bought my P5/5G a couple weeks ago after I returned a poor-quality Chinese-made Beeman rifle. I also felt a little silly using a rifle larger in size than my Browning A-Bolt to take 5-10 yd shots in my back yard. I was very impressed with the accuracy out of the box. Minor sight adjustments and I was placing 1" groups at 10 yds with RWS Superpoints for the first 50 rds as I got used to this gun. Switched to Beeman Lasers and started stacking the pellets one on top of the other. Also tried Rapt ...

Overall, worth the extra $$$. Raptor gold ammo a little loose in the chamber, beeman a bit stiff, try cabelas ammo for this pistol.

I've bought this pistol at the beginning of 2005.

Now I read many review about problems with this pistol and it's very strange for me because I didn't have any problem for 3 years.

The speed is 175m/s for example for Gamo Hunter (0.47 grammes) as it was declared in many articles.

Accuracy is also good enough. I am not a good shooter but I've got accuracy about 1 inch at 10 yards every time! Sometimes it's a little better.

So it's very good, powerful and accurate pistol.

A new gun should not be broken within just a month of use.

At first I thought I had a nice pistol, I loved the quiet power, but now it is too quiet, because it is BROKEN. I took it apart to see if I could figure out what was wrong, can't do it. I don't want to invest the shipping to send it back to get it fixed after the experience.

Factory quality control was completely lacking in my case. Groups were over 3 inches high at 10 meters in spite of maximum adjustment. My dealer won't exchange it, and I must now deal with service. Not a good first time RWS purchase.

I just got this pistol and decided to sight it in. It shoots low --even when rear sight is adjusted all the way up. Also shoots a bit to the right, but can compensate with rear sight. I think the problem is at least partly that the sights are not fixed to the barrel. Rear sight is located on the spring body and the front sight is located on the "compensator" which was loose before I tightened it. Power also does not seem to be anywhere near 700 fps as advertised. Suppose I'll be sending it bac ...

I got it from Pyramydair's. Had to wait for two months because they were out of stock.
I heard that it had some bad time in past as the quality but now that is over. I think that if they would put front sight on the end of muzzle break it could be even more accurate.
Of course it jerks as other break-barrel pistols but so far I didn't come close to accuracy of Diana with the others.
It is also limited lifetime warranty that spells intergrity and confidence of producers.
    I think however that ...

I initially purchased a Diana P5 magnum about one year ago and ran into the problem of the pistol shooting low with max adjustments. I sent the pistol back to be repaired and once returned, I experienced the same problem. Also, I guess due to my gripping pistol improperly, accuracy was spotty. I could not achieve consistent performance. Eventually I sold the pistol. Recently I have read sparkling reviews of the pistol here and other places and decided to try once more. My second gun shot w ...

The literature that came with Diana P5 Magnum lacks detail. Example making trigger adjustments. Also gun comes with front barrel weight detached from gun. My gun was missing a very thin washer that needs to be fitted to barrel weight but dealer stated it wasn't a big deal. Once again lack of detail from RWS on adding barrel weight was disappointing.
I have enjoyed shooting the pistol and I am pleased with it's accuracy and balance in my small hands.
I believe it was a good value for th ...

Looking into Diana web site diana-airguns.de, it's possible to see that they acclaim 175 m/s for this P5 magnum. it is 574 fps. I think it is quite strange that in some other contexts they acclaim 700 fps (213 m/s). They say 7,5 joule 175 m/s. So 5.53ft/P, 574 fps.

I have a Webley Hurricane and a RWS 9N. and 2 Diana P5. The RWS's power is greater than the Hurricane by 30% and the P5 is bigger than the RWs by 30%. I am very happy with the P5 because it is very accurate. It can shoot up to 100 ft away and still be very accurate. I used 10,000 bullets in 3 months. Everyday I shoot in my backyard but after that, after 3 months, both P5s' spring broke and then 10 days after the repair. Both of the guns broke again. Then I repaired it again, and both the guns ha ...
