Words cannot express how deeply disappointed and disgusted I am with SIA's so called
" Business Class" which is in reality just a glorified Economy class. I am currently sitting on SQ25 on my way to New York via Frankfurt. Unlike the picture of the lovely business class seat in the magazine, I am in a seat that is barely larger than an economy seat. There is a mere 25 cm from my seat to the back of the seat in front of me. While I am aware that not all of SIA's aircraft have the new business class seat, I am simply staggered that there is such a quantum difference between what I am sitting in and what SIA is promoting.

Both my wife and I have back pain from the highly uncomfortable "business class" seats we are in, which do not recline flat, but have you sitting at an awkward angle of about 30 degrees with a further bend in the lumbar spine area. This is much like a lounge chair. One of the main reasons why we selected SIA on this occasion was because they promoted a lie flat seat.. My disappointment began upon check in. I frequently fly business class on Qantas and of course there's the high level of service in the special lounge allocated for their business class passengers. Not so in Singapore, you're treated the same as any economy passenger. The lounge, while looking chic and sophisticated in this new terminal building has many misgivings. The food is unpalatable and the showers are very disappointing. Low quality cheap shampoo and shower gel is used from a steel dispenser that I would expect to find in a YMCA or motel(not that I would stay in either). My skin is actually starting to develop a rash from this cheap product(I am a doctor so I am well aware what contact dermatitis looks like). Furthermore, when I asked the bathroom attendant for another towel, I was declined as "One towel there already, why you want more?" I ultimately had to walk through the bathroom, partially clad to help myself to his hoard of towels. The lack of a toilet in the shower room was also particularly annoying as most passengers before a very long flight would prefer to open their bowels and have a wash so as to feel fresh for their flight. This is contrasted to the excellent shower rooms in the Qantas/BA lounge in Changi, with their use of exclusive Molton Brown shower gel and shampoo found in Qantas lounges or Elemis products found in British Airways lounges. There is a more luxurious Gold Kris lounge, but if you do not fly SIA business/First clsss regularly you are unworthy of entry, despite your business class ticket. Also SIA does not offer toiletries bags, just low quality disposable products in the lavatory. Many frequent flyers no longer get any pleasure from this, but it should at least be offered to all passenger even if declined. Of course it would be too much to ask to think SIA would provide sleeping suits either.

The blankets are simply shocking. In all business class cabins I have travelled in, the blankets are lined, high quality wool blankets. SIA blankets are are Economy class polyester blankets with "Givenchy" stitched on it.

The Stewardess call button is extraordinarily loud. Now this may sound like I'm nitpicking, but I'm not. On this long haul night flights where you need your sleep, every time anyone pressed the call button it sounds like an alarm going off, awakening the whole cabin. Needless to say ear plugs are not provided.

Finally, before I booked this ticket I went to some lengths contacting SIA to ensure that there were shower facilities I could utilise at Frankfurt airport following a long flight. I was assured that this was available as a business class passenger through the Lufthansa Senator lounge. Well, you can imagine my irritation that the showers were only available in the gold lounge to first class/Gold Kris passengers and business passengers were not entitled entry to the lounge. Instead there was a small lounge with no shower facilities. SIA clearly expect their other business class passengers to sit in their own filth for over 24 hours on this flight. Unless of course you are Gold Kris. But if you are not you are simply the dirt on their boots, though it does not stop them from taking your money.

I was lured to flying SIA on this trip not based on price, indeed SIA is more expensive than their competitors but on their self promotion of their "best business class in the world." I resent having paid business class fares for what can only be described as a vastly inferior product. Never have I been more disappointed with a flight and it depresses me that I have to fly back to Singapore with SIA. I can only wonder what disappointments lie in wait for me then. However forearmed is fore warned so at least I can bring all of the products I need that SIA is so incapable of providing, and perhaps make private arrangements in the airport hotels in Singapore and Frankfurt. SIA should be ashamed of themselves.

I was excited to fly Singapore Airlines based on all the hype about it being a 5-star airline, etc. I found that in reality it was no better than most other airlines. It was my honeymoon to Bali, so I was having dreams of getting an upgrade. This of course didn't happen, but when I went to check in 48 hours in advance for the return trip, there weren't even 2 seats available together! I phoned Singapore Air's office in Bali and I had to try several times over 2 days for them to even pick up ...

I travel every year to Australia and always travel with this airline. I travel on my own and have always had confidence in the staff to make my trip a pleasant one. In flight entertainment good, food okay. Had a slight delay at Singapore airport but meal tickets given out for refreshments. Would recommend this airline.

Flew out to Sydney via Singapore with Singapore Airlines as part of a Star Alliance round the world ticket. They are the best airline I have flown with before or since. The food was wonderful, the service top class and all times were kept to or beaten. Flying on their A380 was extra enjoyable, it's such a quiet, smooth aircraft. The entertainment system was great with lots of choice.

Flew from manchester to brisbane with Singapore Airlines, very disappointing. Saved up for business class, on entering the cabin there were water stains on the floor. Food choice poor, only one main meal offered. Sink waste blocked on sink so had to use wet wipes.

ON hearing ppl views i thought Singapore Airlines will be good to fly!!!! BUT THE FIRST TIME I FLEW IT WAS MY MOST HORRIBLE FLIGHT EXPERIENCE. On checkin at hyderabad counter it took me 25 mins to checkin, after which they gave me a wrong name on the boarding pass, later the check in guy came again and took me back saying he forgot to enter something. I forgot all that and flew to singapore, on landing out of 3 bags i lost my main bag. Here my string of horrifying experience starts, I waited ne ...

Singapore Airlines, one of the best Airlines I've ever flown with, the staff were so kind. I was flying with my Grandma and she didn't fancy anything on the menu, the Airline staff quickly approached her and offered to look for something else in the Kitchen.

Before getting your Singapore airline tickets, make sure that your tickets are redeemable. We only found that our tickets are not accruable after 16000 miles of travel. Your travel agent or the Singapore airline crew may not inform you that only certain "type" of ticket are redeemable. Look or ask very carefully for their terms and conditions.Check if there is any other limitation besides "ticket types". A minor point: many of the entertainment sets were out-of- function. ...

SIA profits sky high but at what price. All my business and family travels are on our national carrier but that is about to change after my latest experience with SIA.
It started with a request to redeem online tickets for my family for an upcoming holiday to Vancouver. Attempts to make the booking online were futile as the return dates were unavailable.

Thinking it was a glitch in the system, I called and was told there were several tiers in Economy class and if I were to upgrade to the next ...

I use Singapore Airlines purely as a business link since currently working in Singapore for my U.A.E. based company. However, to get hold of their reservations department was an unmitigated nightmare and it was not possible to change the booking on line. It is the single most important aspect of end user satisfaction, the right to adjust your itinary due to circumstances. Singapore Airlines made this process virtually impossible due to their complete lack of ability or consideration in dealing ...

Try dealing with their reservations service when you need to change a flight! After paying for a ticket I had to change the travel dates. The initial reservation was made online but there is no provision online to make changes to the itinerary. I was able to make the changes via phone, but was unable to conclude the transaction as they needed to send the reservation to their fare desk for evaluation. I was promised they would call me back within 48 hours. No return call. Day of flight I'm on th ...

We chose Singapore airlines due to its great reviews and its advertising. I was completely satisfied with the service and the amenities. Even though it was a flight of nearly 12 hours I was not bored and not hungry.

Service by the cabin crew excellent as usualFood is ok, no more, they cater for an Asian taste (not surprisingly I suppose) and I have yet to eat a starter for main meal - usually horrible. Singapore Airlines 747's are really showing their age - went back and forth on the same plane from Heathrow SQ 308 SQ 316 - plane is 14 years old, ave age of 747 fleet is now 11 years old - they are showing their age!!

Seat, entertainment and flight attendant attitude are acceptable, like other non-budget airlines. I do appreciate its effort in giving each passenger a small video screen, just that I would prefer big projected screens on other airlines which are much more comfortable to look at.Food is an area it scores low. On my two flights, fried rice that appeared like porridge, stirred-fried chicken that was too dry and tasteless, dessert that was too hard and the accompanied coconut milk too thick, just ...

I have used Singapore Airlines a couple of times and I personally think it is really over-hyped.
They claim they charge "premium" prices because they give "premium" service.
On my last flight to Delhi, they did not even give me my choice of meal. The air hostess just dumped something in front of me without asking. When I questioned her, the reply was "we ran out".

I gave official feedback to Singapore Airlines about this incident. They said they would get back to me but am still waiting.

On this same journey, (London to Brisbane) I have in the past tried Quantas/BA, (didn't like much, on board facilities/comfort/legroom were inferior -though that was 4 years ago), and also Malaysia Airlines, but found Singapore Airlines had the edge on them all, for general staff service, food & drinks, on board facilities and general comfort. Not much difference in price. between them all. My first choice in future.

The flight was on time but I didn't get the pre-allocated seat, the seats were old, worn and old style, food was average and in-flight entertainment was limited. All I could see was the advertising for the new Business Class flat beds, which seem to be on other flights but not on MEL to SIN. Why Singapore Airlines treats Melbourne based passengers so poorly is beyond me. I shared my views with the SIA rep at SIN airport while I waited for my connecting flight and got the expected robotic respons ...

I have just landed in Sydney after the 24 hr journey from London. I have been very impressed with all features of the Singapore Airline service. In particular, the on-board crew were very helpful and responded to every request.
One tip is to book the flight on the Singapore airlines website as it is cheaper than most travel agents. I booked with Flight Centre and found out later I could have booked cheaper if I had bought my tickets directly on their website.
    Overall, congratulations to Singap ...
