Good Points: Non-stop service from LAX to Singapore is a good product. Their business class is as good onboard as most first class on other airlines.

Bad Points: Oh my gosh! Try dealing with their reservations service when you need to change a flight! After paying over 7k for a ticket I had to change the travel dates. The initial reservation was made online but there is no provision online to make changes to the itinerary. I was able to make the changes via phone, but was unable to conclude the transaction as they needed to send the reservation to their fare desk for evaluation. I was promised they would call me back within 48 hours. No return call. Day of flight I'm on the phone with them for 2 hours trying to get this resolved. Unable to do so as they could not seem to calculate the fare difference. Why do other airlines have the ability to do this in a matter of seconds and Singapore Air needs days upon days? They also require that the credit card used be that of the traveler and it must be presented at time of check-in. I booked this ticket for my husband and used my credit card as I thought I would be traveling with him. When the dates changed I was not able to go. So I tried several times to give the reservations people my husbands credit card. I was actually asked by the reservations agent if I could go to the airport with him to present my card: not a option as we live in Seattle and the Singapore Air segment of his trip departed in Los Angeles. They could not understand this and were less than sympathetic. An hour before he was to leave I was finally told for the first time that I needed to go to the ticketing office to obtain and complete an indemnity form. I asked if this form was available online, no it isn't. I asked if they could fax me the form, no they couldn't. I called the ticket counter at LAX and explained the situation and was able to get information put into the record which enabled them to call me when my husband arrived at the ticket counter. It was resolved within moments and he boarded his flight. Now, two days after he departed for Singapore I received a call from reservations to re-issue his ticket. They actually asked to speak with him and seemed surprised that he wasn't available (even though the ticket clearly indicated his departure date was 2 days ago). Wow. They really need to work on this aspect of their service.

General comments: This was the worst experience I have had in over 30 years of frequent flying in dealing with a reservations desk. They are inflexible, not customer oriented, and unable to comprehend barriers to a customer doing what they would require. Overall just a nightmare.

We chose Singapore airlines due to its great reviews and its advertising. I was completely satisfied with the service and the amenities. Even though it was a flight of nearly 12 hours I was not bored and not hungry.

Service by the cabin crew excellent as usualFood is ok, no more, they cater for an Asian taste (not surprisingly I suppose) and I have yet to eat a starter for main meal - usually horrible. Singapore Airlines 747's are really showing their age - went back and forth on the same plane from Heathrow SQ 308 SQ 316 - plane is 14 years old, ave age of 747 fleet is now 11 years old - they are showing their age!!

Seat, entertainment and flight attendant attitude are acceptable, like other non-budget airlines. I do appreciate its effort in giving each passenger a small video screen, just that I would prefer big projected screens on other airlines which are much more comfortable to look at.Food is an area it scores low. On my two flights, fried rice that appeared like porridge, stirred-fried chicken that was too dry and tasteless, dessert that was too hard and the accompanied coconut milk too thick, just ...

I have used Singapore Airlines a couple of times and I personally think it is really over-hyped. They claim they charge "premium" prices because they give "premium" service. On my last flight to Delhi, they did not even give me my choice of meal. The air hostess just dumped something in front of me without asking. When I questioned her, the reply was "we ran out". I gave official feedback to Singapore Airlines about this incident. They said they would get back to me but am still waiting. ...

On this same journey, (London to Brisbane) I have in the past tried Quantas/BA, (didn't like much, on board facilities/comfort/legroom were inferior -though that was 4 years ago), and also Malaysia Airlines , but found Singapore Airlines had the edge on them all, for general staff service, food & drinks, on board facilities and general comfort. Not much difference in price. between them all. My first choice in future.

The flight was on time but I didn't get the pre-allocated seat, the seats were old, worn and old style, food was average and in-flight entertainment was limited. All I could see was the advertising for the new Business Class flat beds, which seem to be on other flights but not on MEL to SIN. Why Singapore Airlines treats Melbourne based passengers so poorly is beyond me. I shared my views with the SIA rep at SIN airport while I waited for my connecting flight and got the expected robotic respons ...

I have just landed in Sydney after the 24 hr journey from London. I have been very impressed with all features of the Singapore Airline service. In particular, the on-board crew were very helpful and responded to every request. One tip is to book the flight on the Singapore airlines website as it is cheaper than most travel agents. I booked with Flight Centre and found out later I could have booked cheaper if I had bought my tickets directly on their website. Overall, congratulations to Singap ...

I have always recommended Singapore Airlines but not this time. Their quality of service on the plane, which has always been SIA's strong point, was terrible. I was told SIA are child friendly and there are plenty of things to keep them occupied i.e. colouring books etc. My 2 year old was given a net bag, that kept him occupied for at least 3 seconds. Trays were left for nearly one hour after people had finished eating. Coffee was taken down one aisle but not the other. I asked for earphones ...

I will always use SIA whenever possible. I am very impressed with their service and customer care. I have never had to wait too long for the flight attendants to bring what I asked for. I have had a number of experiences when flying on other airlines where I had to wait forever for coffee creamer, sugar packages or water.

Generally, my Singapore Airlines light was an OK flight. It has it's faults, but I guess it's the best you can get from economy class. I liked the TV at the back of the seat. The movies weren't that great, and there were not enough games either. I liked it when I woke up from a sleep, as a lady came to me and gave me some Orange juice. If I want chocolate, I should get it, and not have this: "I'm sorry, we're currently out of chocolate." I mean jeez, and the worst part is, when I walked i ...

On my next flight to Australia, which will be early next year, I will not be using Singapore Airlines that's for sure. Seating was like sitting on a rock. My seat had no cushion as such, and after 13.5 hours of a 24 hour flight sitting on it; it did not make me smile. I only found this out when I was changing planes at Singapore. The food was terrible! I have been on other long haul flights where the food has been passable, but this was just horrible.

My mum and sister flew with Singapore Airlines to visit me last month arriving at LHR. I was waiting for them at the arrival halls when my phone went off. It was some cargo agent telling me that SIA had "forgotten" one of their bags and to say it would be coming over on a later flight. It would be delivered to my hotel in London. Fair enough. I received a text later confirming that it would be delivered to me at midnight. So I waited in the lobby from 23:30 until 00:30, and still no bag. I wa ...

My recent Singapore Airlines flying experiences show that their in-flight service levels have hit new lows; it will take more than just amenities for SIA to retain their 'most-awarded-airline' status. In Business Class on SQ407 of Feb. 3, when I complained to the in-flight supervisor 1.5 hours after takeoff that I had yet to be offered any food or drink (when all passengers around me were on their main courses), the shameless response was "Did you ask for it?" "We are so sorry that we missed ...

I recently went to Incheon for my flight to Vancouver and heard the most beautiful words from the girl behind the counter: "Can you help me, we've overbooked the flight." Here was the deal: Business Class (I was in Economy originally) to San Francisco, a 2 hour layover and then Economy for the 2.5 hour flight to Vancouver. Sounds great! I've been on Singapore Business Class and it's great (watch a movie, go to sleep, watch a movie...10 hours gone!). Also, I'd get 500 Sing$ (350,000 won, 300 ...

I regularly fly between the UK and Australia and have made the trip some 14 times now mostly with Singapore Airlines. For the money you just can't fault them these guy's do everything possible to make sure you trip is as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Not an easy task when your taking on 400 odd folks with about 20 crew and you have to try and keep everyone happy for the next 13hrs, not my idea of a job!! Some people whinge and carry on about not enough leg room or seats don't recline b ...

I have flown 7 times to Incheon/Seoul from Vancouver over the last 3 years with Singapore Airlines, and my family (my wife is Korean, I am Canadian) flies at least 2 times a year as well (parents, siblings, in-laws). I always preferred SIA because of its good service, pleasing staff (yes, looks do matter on an 11-hour flight) and competitive pricing. On my latest flight the departure dates were a moving target. We were unsure when I was needed in Seoul, but after booking a date we thought m ...

Dear Singapore Airlines My name is Eun-Ha . The topic of this letter is almost certain to gain your attention. Frankly, I know that your airlines has offered friendly customer service and that is always cause for patronage in many marketing textbooks. My hope is to continue using Singapore Airlines but I have to admit I was dissatisfied with you. My brother purchased the round trip ticket in the USA and the ticket was to bring him to Korea on July 27, 2003, and return him to the USA on ...
