Ok then ive read the other reviews ad im very surprised, I bought the van new fully specd excluding alloys as I work in london and know what wheels go through. Ive used it for work, camping, travelling and it laps it all up. A review here said that rear wheel drive vans were absolutly rubbish... yes the van does slip a bit if you go fast round wet roundabouts, but what I find is that the back stepping out is predictable and easy to correct...if your any sort of a good driver. We are an independent light commercial vehicle dealer established almost 10 years ago.The vito does have it`s faults.Pre 2007 bad for bodywork rust,Heavy on anti roll bar bushes ( £4.40 each ),window regulators, rear coil springs fracturing. In spite of these faults i would always recommend the Vito over any of it`s competition including the VW.Why?? because in the last 10 years we have sold over 500 Vito`s without what i would consider one major problem i.e engine, gearbox. We also find the... I Bought a pair of 111 vans in 2009 having been very happy with a 2001 Vito 110. The new van looks the part and drives more like a car but I should have suspected something when I paid the same amount for an equivalent van after 8 years....how do they do that?....by skimping on everything, that's how. There's no temperature gauge and no warning when the washers are getting empty. The dash display panel would make a mobile phone feel cheap. The comfort seat has less padding. The metal body... Hi Guys, I Own a 110cdi 2002 Vito.
Like you guys same problem with the front tyres scrubbing off -only 8k miles covered on new set of Dunlop LT30's and both completly now illegal. Rust is becoming a problem which I will have to address soon as it's becoming a bit 'tatty' to be seen in. Other than those issues, the engine & performance is great, (although ive heard of gearbox issues) two sliding doors & economy all ok. However it just loves to burn front tyres

i know all about rust eating through the roof,i had an 5mm hole in the roof panel and corrosion on many other areas of the vito. took it to mercedes and they tried to wriggle out of it saying because i had fitted the roof rack the warranty was void. but i had them by the balls because i produced my receipt for the supply and fitting of a genuine mercedes roof rack. the colour fading was also a terrible problem, the van had gone from red to pink in less than 4 years. also they said mercedes paintwork warranty did not cover fading paint. basically in the end they agreed to put all the corrosion right, new roof new back doors and repaired several other areas of corrosion, and a full respray of the vehicle. but i had to pay 30% of the cost which was around a £1000.00. once work had started they tried to get another £450.00 out of me, but i told them i had no more money and they relented and did the job anyway. i have got the van back after 3 weeks initially they said they would have it done in 5 days. Quiet a few minor problems after the van was put back together after respray but all sorted now.

It has only had a couple of mechanical failures, quite impresive for 125000 miles. But, rusting bodywork is unacceptable.

I have to say that I am very surprised to hear that you have had so much trouble with your Vito 111 LWB and that your Dealer seems to know so little and doesn't want to help. Maybe you should come down to sunny Suffolk and purchase your next one as I have had no problems since Purchasing my New Vito late last year. I would definitely recommend the Vito and will buy another once my finance agreement ends. I have to say that my local Dealer was nothing but helpful throughout my purchase and when I have returned for servicing I have been given a first class experience!

Yep, got the same tyre wear problem as you at 9000 miles & 13 months old. The local tyre centre said it was not the tracking at fault and to contact the dealer. Dealer said it would cost me about £230 to diagnose the problem and the cost of rectifying the fault would also fall to me. NOT IMPRESED. Considering my next move.
