Good Points: Amazing production by Doc (also known for producing Res' "How I Do") and Esthero (the singer's) voice!
General comments: Esthero, Breath From Another - The Canadian duo Esthero released their debut album "Breath From Another" back in 1998 to critical acclaim and hype of being 'the next big thing'. Unfortunately, they were poorly advertised (well, not advertised at all) and too many people missed out on some truly amazing music.
Esthero's (the vocalist) voice is a mix of Bjork-Portishead subtlety, power and seduction. Yet her voice remains truly unique not only in the genre of trip-hop, but also in any genre of music. Esthero (the duo) has taken many different types of music to create interesting beats and sounds. Taking samples from latin, jazz, techno and much string music, this is on of the most unique and beautiful albums ever created.
Highly recommended if you enjoy Portishead and Bjork. Also, check out the string arrangements on "Country Livin' (The World I Know)", truly gorgeous!
