Good Points: Very good value package Simple but comprehensive network for small businesses.
Bad Points: Still needs a computer expert to install it.
General comments: We have been extremely satisfied with Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 for our business. We previously had a "peer-to-peer" network which had become unmanageable and no longer server all our needs.
SBS gives us shared broadband Internet, a firewall, shared calendars and company address books, and of course shared files and printers.
We run it on a Dell Poweredge 700 server and do nightly backups to external USB drives.
The entire solution cost only £3,400 including 10 user licences. That included installation by a professional. Which is really essential despite this being a relatively simple package.
We used mxIT in Edinburgh for the install since they are local (www.mxit.co.uk) and have been very pleased so far.
