Otherthan it's weight and crude iron sight, it's a great rifle. If only it came equipped with fiber optic sight/dovetail… Read Full Review

i bought this gun for $20 bucks at an airgun meet and shot it for About 3hours and it was hitting well beyond 130 meters and then hitting tree line but yeah i was plinking cans of a barrel at 50 yrds and it was still a very accurate gun so i do recommend this gun to juniors although u may want to pay attention to the weight of this gun for the little ones!!
stay safe and have fun shooting!!… Read Full Review

I had the previous version of this gun. I had it for a while until one day the spring snapped and cut a piece of my mate's thumb off! When i took it to the gun shop, the guy said it was completely ruined. So he sent off to china to get me the newer model. Then guess what happend. Yep thats right, the spring broke. I gotta admit, the firing time i had with it was sweet, especially for the price and looks, but the durability sucks… Read Full Review

I got this air rifle new for $60 + tax + shipping.
The cylinder on this model is grooved for a scope but it needs a scope stop.
The cocking effort on my bathroom scale is about 40 pounds.
The cocking handle has some rubber at the end of it for comfort.
The gun weigh about 6.4 pounds / 3.2 Kg. on my bathroom scale.
The length of this rifle is 41 inches / 104 cm.
The trigger is a little heavy but predictable and it has a manual safety.
Both front and rear sight were off on the right side… Read Full Review

I bought this Hercules XS-B4-2 from my local sport shop for £60. Only cheap but I found it a fairly accurate shot. I dropped a pigeon from approx 20 foot with a flat head. So power is good. Only problem when I bought wasn't given any information so don't know the spec's of this... can anyone help?… Read Full Review

Let's face it, if you've bought any mechanical device for under $50, you know it's pretty unlikely it will work well. But I was surprised to find that the Hercules XS-B4-2 .22 gun does what I had hoped.
In case you wonder, as I did, what the differences are in models, the B4-2 has a manual trigger safety, while the B4-1 has none, and the B4 is a step down from those. No one in their right mind uses a gun without a safety, so the B4-2 is the minimum you should consider.
I took this gun… Read Full Review

Hercules B4-2-.22 Review
When UPS delivered my new B4-2 I grabbed a grease rag before opening the box. South Summit did a good job of packing with a double box. The rifle was in perfect condition and surprise, it was not dripping with oil. Over all appearance and finish is good considering it's $29.95 price tag. Size, weight and balance are good. I immediately set up my 10M range and tried the B4-2. It takes a bit of effort to cock (two hands worked best) and is a bit rough. The first thing… Read Full Review

I ordered the Hercules XS-B4-2 (.22) rifle from South Summit for $29.95 and about $8 in shipping. It arrive four days later on 3/3/05. When I first shot it, it measured velocities of over 700 fps(i.e. 720 to 735). It advertised 700fps. The velocity gradually dropped and after about 300 rounds is about 530 fps. The accuracy was fair to start and has improved to good(under 3/4" at 10meters). The rifle feels small and is short at 39". The scope raiol is inadequate to hold the scope in… Read Full Review

Well, received my Hercules XS-B4-2 in .22 a few days ago. Got a chance to get out and shoot it today. Boy, was I surprised! This thing was dead on at 25 yards right out of the box! Surprised me! Shot off about 70 pellets-no problem whatsoever. I found that it wasn't loud, WAS very accurate, and for me, at least, was comfortable to shoot. The screws did come loose a little after awhile, but that is easily remedied. An excellent deal for the money! Also, it had excellent power… Read Full Review

I've had the Hercules XS-B4-2 (.22) for about a year and a half now. I put this gun through HELL, I once took it apart and pulled a spring out accidentally and some other metal thingy I'm not sure what they did. But it still worked afterwards. I painted mine all black after sanding it, and put some WD40 in it to clean the barrel. after sighting it in, I've been using those cheap bulk Chinese pellets from south summit. I switched over to crosman pointeds and can shoot super accurate. I've shot… Read Full Review

For the money that I spent on the Hercules XS-B4-2 (.22) air rifle, I am quite satisfied. I read as much info as I could get my mouse on before I committed, so I knew the pro's and con's. The stock left a little to be desired, but some sandpaper and a can of ultra flat black prettied it up quite nicely. Like I mentioned above, the sights are a bit of a pain but once you get to know how they work, they can be very accurate. The scope rail is the easiest fix, clean it up with degreaser and goop… Read Full Review
