Good Points: The appartments.
The pool and bar.
Beach.
Everything!

Bad Points: People pestering you to get in to their restaurant. Turn right out of Villa Stella to avoid this. El Greco is the worst.

General comments: Where do you start. The Villa Stella hotel is basic, yes, but suitable to sleep! I really wouldn't want to go on holiday to cook anyway so those people sulking over the 2ins hobs are nit-picking.

The apartments are cleaned all the time and there is plenty of room in the apartments. Close to the centre of Stalis, even closer to the beach - what more could you actually want?

The owners are fantastic. Stratos and Stella will go out of their way to make sure you, and all their guests enjoy their holiday. The only people who are ignorant are the few on here who moan about the "high prices" in the pool bar. Complete rubbish. These people are most likely the same people who go on holiday to enjoy the delights of McDonalds and pizza hut - in Greece!

The hotel is family run - they are trying to make a living. Don't put your money into Ronald McDonalds pocket to save a few pence when you can support a Greek family. It's sad to see that British people are so pathetic as to go out of their way to save a pound or to - when they should be relaxing!

Anyway, the food in the hotel is fantastic - deep fried? Rubbish - that poster is living in coo-coo land. Some of the best food we have had was at that pool bar.

At nights - the owners have the bar open and we stayed behind and yes, got to know them, but also got to know other people staying at the hotel. The people who go on holiday and have a holiday! Not sulk and moan all the time!

Beach was lovely - though I am not a fan of beaches so tended to stay around the pool - which I might add - is fantastic. Some also moan at the strict 10-6 time in the pool - this is for chemicals to work and it is worth it to have such a lovely pool!

Everything at Villa Stella in Crete was excellent. The owners as well as their daughter were nothing but helpful and friendly. I really felt part of their family, and saying goodbye was very hard. The apartments were clean and light. I loved breakfast on the balcony. I would have no problem returning to Villa Stella time and again. I only wish I could have stayed longer.

As a whole the holiday was a good one. But this was not due to the Villa Stella . The owners are friendly and helpful, if you are using their expensive pool bar if not then the cheerful looks are replaced with neutral ones. The food served is deep fried only, I'm sure they use the same 2 ring hobs! Fortunately there are plenty of resturants in the local area, yes there are a lot of people trying to pull you into their place. Be firm and just walk by 'til you find somewhere you want to eat.

The best holiday ever! The owners were very frienly to us, and we spent all the evenings with them. The pool is the cleanest we have ever seen. The apt was very clean, everything in the room in fine condition. Furniture was well kept, no sign of any broken furniture at all.

The owners live in the unit, so they immediately sort out any problem which the guests may have in the apts, as long as one lets them know.

We fully recommend Villa Stella for a fab holiday.

This year will be the third time I have used the Villa Stella apartments. It is almost as cheap to eat out as buy in. Excellent variety of restaurants vying for your custom.
A previous review mentioned mosquitoes and I have had no problem if you use anti mosquito spray and plug ins. Seems daft to ruin your holiday for the sake of a few pounds!
Can't wait to see Stella and Stratos again.

Stalis, Villa Stella: I stayed here for two weeks and I can only describe it as the worst accomodation I have seen in my 14 years of going on package holidays. If you are thinking of going ask for a change now before you get there. My 11 bites on my back tells me to tell you that.

We had a very enjoyable holiday in Villa Stella. We had a studio which was spacious for a couple. The place was ideal for a quiet holiday. Stratos and Stella made us feel at home. We recommend it for a lazy holiday by the pool drinking, eating and enjoying the sun.

My wife and I stayed at Villa Stella in Sep 2004 and we are going back 3/5/2005. The owners Stratos and Stella are very kind and would do anything for you.

I stayed in Villa Stella in May and I have never been in a friendlier environment. I met both the owners Stella and Stratos who are the nicest people in the world. They couldn't do enough for my family. Stella is Greek but speaks excellent English as she was an English teacher and even took the time to teach us a few words of Greek. I would recommend anyone to stay in this delightful place. It is right across from the beach and has its own pool. Excellent for families because of the atmosphere. ...
