Good Points: Great sights for youth, Nice trigger, adjustable stock makes it usable for all size of shooters. Rail allows for use by more advanced shooters. Good support from Crossman in the past.

Bad Points: High temperatures in direct sun light cause some Co2 discharge problems. Co2 cylinder nipple seal and valve needs replaced every 2 years under heavy use. Co2 cylinder piercing cone has been replaced on all our rifles at one point or another.

General comments: Overall, the Crosman Challenger 2000 is a good rifle for position shooting. We have put thousands of pellets through our club rifles with only modest problems.

I would not recomend this rifle for anyone serious about shooting consistant scores. I like the Daisy products. Rifle does not shoot consistant. Seems as though the CO2 pressure varies from shot to shot. Not happy with the performance at all.

I got this Crosman Challenger 2000 Rifle for about $350 Canadian. I had to replace the valve after 4100 shots and it was easy to do. The valve cost me under $40 tax & shipping included. I use this rifle for target practice at 33' and I find it very accurate. All in all it is a good rifle IMHO.

I've been shooting an RWS 48 for field and target and found it too powerful for practical target use.
What I needed was a dedicated target rifle.
I purchased the Crosman CH2000 after considering other competition sanctioned rifles (of which there were 3).
Of the three, two were single (long reach) cock which seemed to be cumbersome to use if prone or kneeling.
CO2 seemed the best for me.
Upon receipt I started using Crosman Premier Match 7.9G pellets and after about 15 shots, they fell of ...

    Crosman Challenger 2000:
Low power: 3ft/lbs only. Tried it with over 50 types of pellets heavy/light, flat, domed, copper coated etc. Could not get more than 3.5ft/lbs.

Inacurate: It came with a card claiming to be shot by the gun but even using the same make of pellets and selecting them for weight on a powder scale and using a bench clamp I cannot get the gun to group. Tried 10 pellets for each of 26 different types!

Perhaps I got a "friday" model.

With low power lots of shots for ...

Crosman Challenger 2000 - You will be lucky to go through two CO2's with out a major malfunction. I have had two of these and both had to be sent back for repair. I finaly told the company I was dealing with to send me a Daisy Avanti 853c and credit my card the rest of the money difference. I was dealing with Pyrimid Air and they are a great company.

The price was right I paid only 99.99 plus tax for the Crosman Challenger 2000 at Canadian Tire regular price is 500.00 any where in Canada but I guess no one wanted this one and I could not say no for the price and I still got full warranty as well good deal.. the gun has got a lot of punch to it and very accurate I have a peep site on my Crosman 2200 magnum and its works well on it as well my 2200 is .22cal..
